Cool, collecting since you were 1. I'm 13 but I started Lego collecting when I was about 4, so thats 9 years. Permalink
And bought many adventurers sets while I was 4-7, I put them together and let them in my desk, but the housekeeper just kept throwing them in the"Random pieces bin" so most of them got lost or whatever. Then my sisters and I had what we called "the LEGO afternoon" on saturdays; we grabbed the bin and put it ALL in the florr, so that's how many of those pieces got lost. a cousin of mine also gave me LEGO every birthday, christmas, the bad thing was that it was ALWAYS bionicle, which I couldn't make and threw to the garbage. then i had a big dark age in a weird age; 8-12 were my dark ages, i got back to lego when i discovered stopmotions and then it had a big BOOM when i discovered mocpages. My favorite sets are creator, because they give you a LOT of special pieces of specific colors, and they can be made into more than one thing. I have about 24 minifigs, 16 of them are soldiers, 8 german, 8 82nd airborne americans. And the way I sort is by getting the set, tearing it apart and then put the pieces in its box, then I remember that i want one piece and that i could find it in ----- set easily. Permalink
Like Nicky B, my collection is large. I have both old and new pirate sets, aquazone, an older space series from the mid-90's, the Mars sets, lego studios stuff, castle items going back to the early 90's, tons of Star Wars, almost all of the old Adventurer line (love that series), quite a few Harry Potter sets, some Batman, and some various other sets. Yeah, I need more room. Permalink
The first Lego set I got was a Lego Basic tub, you know the red ones with 4 big studs on the lid.
I also remember in 2001 when Bionicle first came out. I was in a toy shop and did not really know what Bionicle was, other than it was Lego. So I bought a brown Borok but I found putting it togethter hard.
Also I got a mini set free with MacDonalds ages ago. A Lego Basic set, it had a strange creature with a blue pole that spins round his nose.
Some people have really old Lego from their parents, but mine never had Lego, so my oldest set is the one I first got. Permalink
I've been collecting since I was 7 and my first set was the lego AT-AT with about 1600 pieces and I built it in under 3 hours I'm a really fast builder I remember with the bionicle seris the first one I got I used the instructions then after that I never need to use the instructions on the other 5 and it continued like that until lego made it so the characters were completly different also currently 15 yes I still play with lego and I have three shelfs filled with legos and a 2 big boxes of spare pieces Permalink
i have about 2 large flat storage binsc and a half. I like all the lego brands but my farvorite is castle. I sort my lego by all mini
figs and accercorises in one box and other stuff in another box Permalink
Well I'm pretty new to LEGO (well, being properly devoted anyway, I've been buying random sets every year or so since I was born). I started building a bit more seriously in 2007, and haven't got any brick boxes, which limits my building capabilities (as you can see by my bulk of LDD). But I hope to become hardcore soon enough, as my mother is hoping to emigrate us to Australia. Permalink
I've got half a dozen shoeboxes and two boxes maybe a quarter full each, but I've never counted. Besides, that doesn't count all the parts taken up by assembled mocs; I don't take things apart very often. Permalink
