They're just choosing which members of the Fellowship they are because the nine Admins and MODs represent the Nine Walkers (Company of the Ring)

While I don't like the deviations from the book, AUJ is my favorite movie because it starts out very peaceful in the Shire. That's the main reason I like the Hobbit book; because the story is so much lighter.

Even PJ did make the Hobbit a much darker story than the book, it still starts out with a light story in the Shire.

The Lord of the Rings movies are so much better then the the Hobbit movies. In the Hobbit, almost everything looks "fake" or absurd. The Lord of the Rings gives you the feeling of being inside Middle-Earth.

You should know I am. I love the Norse myths, if you remember my saying so in the MOD group, Tolkien based his entire world off of Norse Myths.

For instance, the main world in the Norse myths is "Midgard" the terms elf, dwarf, troll, and goblin all come from the norse myths.

In short, yes I love the norse myths.

That's awesome!

At the moment I'm reading everything that has to do with Midgard and the other worlds!

Odin on his adventures in Midgard reminds me of Gandalf the Grey and the Fire Giants have some paralels to balrogs I think. And names like Gandalf, Durin and Dwalin are all from the Norse Myths too.

That's true, my friend showed me her Mythology text book she has inside it listed a whole bunch of the dwarves, some of their names were: Dain, Nain, Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Gandalf, Bali, Dwalin, Bifur, Bofu, Bombr, Dori, Nori, Ori, Thorin, Durin, Gimli, Fundin, and many others that we all recognize.

On what website(s) are you reading about it?

I was reading about it in two old books we have. One is about poems and was originally written in Icelandic and the other one is about almost all Norse Myths and old German Tales that exist.

I think I know that book too. I'm now almost done with both books I have about Norse Mythology, so I will then start reading Greek Myths. I already know a lot about it, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it!

Hey guys, I know I haven't been active for a couple of months. I got a new puppy last September and he has taken up most of my time. I have also been really busy with school and many other problems that come along with being a teenager. Anyway, I don't think I will be posting any Mocs anytime soon but I hope I can be more active in the conversations and other topics in our group.

I think you should add as many of them as possible! You are a great builder, so it will be easier for you and people who love your MOCs to find them. Also when they visit your homepage, they'll see more creations and that means more comments for you and possible conversations and friends.

Yeah true. I really wish they had included the Scouring of the Shire and Saruman could have died properly like the book. Also not even a small appearance of Tom Bombadil? They could have given him ten minutes like Beorn :P

PJ during FotR: Hmm... Let's cut out Tom Bombadil... Everybody loves him and he has a whole other book written about him, so I think it's a good decision.
PJ during Hobbit: Hmm... I think I'll stretch this out into two movies... Heck, make it three and throw in a villain. A creepy looking one.

PJ During Hobbit 2 and 3: WHAT?!? You want to save money by actually making real prosthetic and sets? Are you nuts?!?! Buy an expensive program that was used to make video games or something... I think a few hundred hours to make fake scenes and weapons and characters sounds cool..

OH and let's add Legolas and a a Captain of the guard who wasn't in a book.... OH and have her fall in love with a dwarf and give them a cheesy love scene... OH and let's not give Bombur any lines, I think he had too many of those in the book.

OH and also make Thranduil be a total diva, and give him a weird disease that I made up that makes his face melt off... Yeah that sound epic, dontcha think?

They really had that many changes? Now I am not an avid fan of the The Hobbit book but, c'mon... Peter Jackson as a talented director should really know better than inserting in new plot points that don't really go anywhere. But maybe it's not just Peter Jackson's fault.. a lot of it may bend toward's the studio's involvement. But someone or a group of someones is to blame, nonetheless. :P

I think DOS is slightly better than AUJ, but not much. They are both very different movies. LOTR is still unbeatable, I mean during every second scene there was a wow-effect.

Definitely on LOTR. The best thing in any of the Movies so far has been Smaug, for sure but they butchered the story too much with DOS (why did they leave the Dwarves in Lake-town?!?) and it was way too fast. On the other hand, AUJ was REALLY slow and could have benefited from a quicker pace.

I digress, however. and will leave it there...for now.

I think Peter Jackson is a great director and he did a wonderful job on all the movies but he just added too much to the Hobbit films that take away from the story of the book we all know and love.

While your idea sounds interesting, I don't think it will work very well. There are already many groups like LOM and the truth is, unless you're a very popular builder people aren't going to be active in your groups. I know this from experience.

there are plenty of people my age around where I live. Ian Spacek for one is a very good friend of mine. I go to a co-op for homeschoolers where we take classes and get do things like dissections in science and stuff that would be difficult to do at home. As for having no friends a lot of the home-schoolers that I've met are... Um.... Weird. It's hard to carry a normal conversation. I do have a lot of "normal" (as in sociable, wants to do stuff, can take/tell a joke, ect.) friends I've met, but (save a few) they all live a long bit away from me.

55 dollars? Wow, that's quite expensive. Can't you get them in the Netherlands? Or is LEGO too rare there?

That's the least expensive way to get them in the Netherlands. How do you get your legos in Germany?

I order them from the official German lego shop and then it comes within 2 days, or I drive to the next town and buy them there.

Well, once again I'd like to apoligize for my inactivity lately, I've been VERY busy with school and other things, AND my basement where I keep my Lego recently flooded, so it was innacessible for a while too... However, It is back in shape now, so that's good :) I recently got a new laptop, which is what I'm typing from now, so I will hopefully be on more. Anyway, my apologies again, hope to see you soon!

You mean, you don't have that test in the US??

Lucky you!

It is really awful. You have to learn everything you did in the last two years, but you still don't know what of it you'll need for the A-levels (or Abitur, that's how we call it in Germany)

You earn an accumulative grade over your four years of high school through all of the classes that you take. That final grade is called your final GPA (grade point average).

How did you manage getting your huge lego collection into the new house?

Funny you should ask.

Fortunately the new house is close to ours, so I just loaded my legos, very carefully into my tiny little car, and drove very carefully to the new house and brought them all in a few at a time. I did pack up some of the sturdier ones, but let me tell you, moving Orthanc, the Sandcrawler, the Millenium Falcon, and Helms Deep, was no easy task.

So, after a few months of sports and student gov. I've reevaluated my personal life, and decided I haven't been taking enough time for myself to do things i enjoy (reading, drawing, legos). So, I decided to take more time for myself. SO (i use that two letter word too much), expect a new MOC every Thursday or Saturday, and as active as I can be on this group!

THE HOBBIT: DESOLATION OF SMAUG MOVIE REVIEW

Now that the DoS dvd is released and I have re-watched it my memory of the film is revived, and I can now write a review on the whole thing.

First off, the thing that most bothered me was the action scenes and CGI effects. In fact, it seemed to me that those were what half of the movie was about. Just about every scene was made up of 75% CGI and 25% tangible sets, whereas in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, everything looked real, because 90% actually was. Remember Helm's Deep, that was all real! It was actually built, though most likely not to the scale seen in the film.

Now about the action. In An Unexpected Journey, there was a lot of gravity going on. Dwarves nearly falling off mountains, more dwarves falling off wooden structures (and not dying, even after getting crushed by a gargantuan goblin), and even more dwarves dangling off tree branches. The problem with Desolation of Smaug is that everyone seems to be defying gravity. Legolas suddenly turns into a ballerina and balances tip-toed on a dwarf's head while shooting unlimited CG arrows into masses of orcs, and Bombur (the fattest dwarf) is seen bouncing 10-20 feet into the air in a barrel. Also, the only two times people have gotten hurt are when Thorin got owned by Azog and Kili got shot, across both movies. The Hobbit just turned from a movie into a videogame. Even with these major flaws, the action scenes are still pretty enjoyable to watch. To add to the videogame aspect, the scenes where the dwarves are fighting Saug are just ridiculous. Smaug just can't seem to hit anything, and Bilbo and the dwarves are just pulling levers and chains and chucking dwarf grenades. Thorin even rode a wheel barrow in freshly melted molten gold that would definitely heat up the wheel barrow and sizzle him. Ugh.

Now, about the story. Personally, I don't think the inclusion of Sauron doesn't fit at all. Gandalf is seen investigating the necromancer and ringwraiths, eventually coming across Sauron at the end. But in Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf is just happily smoking and partying. But then he comes across the ring and remembers Sauron. When you put it alltogether (Gandalf finds out Sauron is the necromancer and finds out middle earth is threatened ---> [insert There and Back Again events] --> Gandalf is partying and smoking
--> Gandalf finds out about the ring and Sauron and that middle earth is threatened), it DOES NOT make sense.

Now onto Thorin. In the movie, he's shown as growing more selfish as he begins to care more for the Arkenstone than the dwarves and Bilbo. In the book, he wasn't as much, but he still cared for the other dwarves and Bilbo. Personally, I think he was given to much backstory, giving a Bilbo less time to be the main character. In fact, a lot of people were given to much backstory and such. Probably 10% of the movie is about Bilbo.

The movie should be called, 13 Dwarves, a Dragon, Some Elves, Two Wizards, A Lot of Orcs, a Few Men, and a Hobbit: The Desolation of Tolkien.

Also, the inclusion of Azog was not a good idea. In the book, he died. Now in the movies, he only lost his arm and is under the servitude of Sauron. Peter Jackson is going way to far. Good thing Tolkien will never know. The whole revenge against Thorn story arc is also ridiculous. He killed Thorin's dad or grandpa or whatever and he only lost your arm and got a better metal one that he could stab people with, I think he's more than even! And, he's got a kid (Bolg)??! What is this??!?

I have also included unnecessary points in the movie that has not been said above.
- the political or governmental problems or whatever going in Laketown
- probably the love triangle?
- the beginning Bree scene (We already know what's happening!!), it just adds some extra fat to the movie
- the giant crossbow thing that shoots giant black ”arrows“ (spears?!). It takes away Bard's identity as Bard the Bowman, now he's just Bard.

Well, that's my review for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug (Tolkein?!), a movie you will initially love, but will ultimately disappoint you, when you really think about it.

THE HOBBIT: DESOLATION OF SMAUG MOVIE REVIEW

Thank you for the review, Stephen!
I agree about many things, the LOTR movies just looked more real, in the Hobbit they had too many bad CGI animations. Of course costumes and real places are a lot of work, but it's worth the effort and doesn't look unrealistic. The video-game-like scenes are also a very unneccessary aspect in my opinion, although I can understand that Jackson only made them to put more tention into the whole movie, which is really hard, because the Hobbit is a children's book where nobody is hurt. As for the lovestory, I think it doesn't fit LOTR, but I still liked it and it seemed to fullfill a missing aspect of the book since it is neither about love at all nor there are any women. The worst thing in my opinion was orcs and wargs in lake-town, I mean, seriously??? And Bolg fighting Legolas???

THE HOBBIT: DESOLATION OF SMAUG MOVIE REVIEW

Well, from the sound of it, you really don't like DoS. :P I do agree with you in a lot of things. But if you've read a bunch of Middle Earth books (I've read a decent amount), some of the parts in the movie aren't too bad.
-In the book, Thorin does become greedy for the Arkenstone and nearly throws Bilbo off a wall in Erebor when he finds out that Bilbo gave the Arkenstone away (proof that he sorta went crazy)
-In the book the Master of Lake Town is kinda goofy (Not saying he's evil and wants to imprison Bard, but he really only cares for himself.). He does run away with a lot of treasure in the end (I think). True I don't like him in the movie, but they did capture a little bit of his character.
-Bolg was (I believe) Azog's son.
-Azog didn't die so quickly. He ruled Moria for quite some time. He also chopped up Thror.
-During the Hobbit Sauron was returning.
-When Gandalf leaves the dwarves in the Hobbit he does go "exploring" (if I may use the word).
*The 2 points below are found in the Silmarillion
-The White Council does take place
-Gandalf does search Dul Guldor and finds Sauron (see the Council of Elrond chapter).

As a side note: The "love triangle" was interesting (as you said). I didn't like the whole Kili and Tauriel thing but the love between Tauriel and Legolas I didn't mind so much. Though it's not mentioned in the book, Legolas could very well have had a girl.
And, as Michael said, the orcs in Lake Town part wasn't so good. Defiantly not my favorite scene. For once I have no explanation for it. :(

All in all, DoS wasn't as good as I had hoped. But hopefully by reading this you'll understand it a little more. :D

Yes, although they added a lot of new stuff to the plot, they used still some interesting facts from the books, even if they weren't in the Hobbit.

The Bree scene, where Gandalf and Thorin met the first time, for instance really happened and was mentioned in several of Tolkien's other tales.

Also Legolas lived to that time, so it is not crazy that he appeared in the movie (although I think his part is a big too big for my taste)

I think the best alternative for what you are looking for is Lord of the Rings Online. It's the best Middle Earth game ever. It's very detailful and huge. So last week I went and bought the LEGO The Hobbit video game. Since I pre-ordered it I got a Bilbo in his robe minifigure which is really cool and detailed (his legs are dark red which is really sweet!). I think the Elrond with LotR was better though. One really cool new feature I love about this game is that you can summon a horse whenever you want to explore Middle-earth (after you've visited Beorn's house) and you can customize your horse! You can have two horses, two Wargs, and two ponies. I didn't do any Wargs or ponies but the horse customization is great! I hope this means good things for custom minifigures (the LEGO LotR customization was lacking).

Also I played the Barrels out of Bond level and unlocked Bombur when was in the barrel. He has two axes and spins around, destroying orcs. It's pretty awesome.

I was thinking about LOTRO, but I have a friend who plays it and he said Turbine does some "stupid stuff" for non-paying players, (Something like an early level cap, I think?) Not entirely sure. I was thinking about the upcoming Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor, until I saw that it seems like an Assassin's Creed rip-off in Middle-Earth. It doesn't even feel very Tolkien.

LOTRO does not have an early level cap. You can go wherever you want and get the the highest level possible while still being FTP. However there is a point where there are less quests available if you don't pay, but the main storyline is always free.

It's not even so much that, as the fact that: 1. You're undead. 2. You can possess orcs and trolls and other monsters to do your bidding. 3. Sneaking lifted straight from Assassin's Creed. 4. Orcs look like something from World of Warcraft. They don't even look Jacksonian. All this, after the developers said it would stay true to the source material and Tolkien.

I think it still holds to most of the LOTR lore. It's only one ranger who, from what I understand is kind of a scout and lives outside of the Black Gate. It looks like a pretty good game as long as you don't accept it as LOTR canon.

Problem is, that's exactly what Monolith are trying to pass it off as.

Yeah I see what you're saying. The problem is that there isn't much they can do as far as video games in Middle-earth without making up stories or basing them off of the movies (which still isn't much).

I honestly think it looks like an awesome game and has many concepts I hope will be implemented in future games. No, it doesn't stay completely true to Tolkien's Middle-earth but then again, neither do PJ's movies and we all love them (mostly =P).

Well, it still is somewhat true.

1. Tolkien obviously had no problem with ghosts and undead (Aragorn commanded an army of them! plus the Barrow Wight).

2. From what I've seen it looks like more fear of the Wraith than actual 'possessing' that makes the Orcs do that.

3. Never played it so I can't really say. Nevertheless, sneaking is fairly common in games these days (Skyrim, Dishonored, Thief etc).

4. Meh, they have dark/greenish skin, black blood. The developers said they were going a good deal by the book so maybe this is what they thought Orcs looked like.

Anyway I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to defend all these adaptations that are incorrect but, I think this will be a good game and I think it should at least get a chance before we all dismiss it as trash.

I guess I shouldn't have said sneaking. It's the gameplay in general. I've never played Assassin's Creed either, (Although I do have Black Flag, just haven't played it,) but I have watched gameplay, and everything in it looks similar. In fact, they were accused of lifting code straight from Assassin's Creed II.

But yes, I do agree we need to wait for reviews'n such.

Oh OK, yeah I've noticed it does look like the small amount of footage I've seen from Assassin's Creed in some parts. I'm most excited about the nemesis system, it seems like it would definitely add to the replay value (which many games are lacking these days).

I probably won't buy any of those. Can't bring myself to spend money on an MMO when I could use it to buy good single-player games.

There's always an alternative. In the game you can do deeds (kill 100 orcs in a region, collect plants, discover places, etc) to earn points. With points you can buy something in the turbine shop. Of course you can buy points with real money too, which doesn't take so long, but the alternative I told you is very realistic. I bought like 6 questpacks with that methode.

Yeah some of the changes are good (I really enjoyed the fight scene during the Barrels out of Bond scene in DOS) but some of them are very bad (Beorn only having like 15 minutes of the movie, Mirkwood only having 20, exclusion of Glorfindel).

I thought that was a funny addition, it was definitely a little cheesey but hysterical. One of my problems with the Hobbit movies is that they are still very dark like LOTR but PJ tries to lighten them up with over the top humor and ridiculous looking characters (giant mutton chops for Beorn? Oh awesome! Yeah overall it is better than LEGO LOTR but it was good too. Once you get to LakeTown you can get the character customizer. You get the animal customizer at Beorn's house. And once you buy a big character (Like the Great Goblin) you can customize a troll (it's mostly just colors of a basic LEGO Cave Troll but still pretty cool). I hope you enjoy it :)

Maybe he gets up on the windlance, and then Smaug dives at him, destroying the windlance, and snapping the arrow in half, and then Bard, determined, picks up his bow and the half of the arrow, climbs up to the roof tops, and shoots the arrow into Smaug. :D

I watched all LOTR movies with 3 friends, yesterday, but we all fell asleep after the first part of the third movie. :D

I watched the LOTR movies by myself this last weekend, (my mom watched ROTK with me) but I started dozing off just before Aragorn took the ships with his ghost dudes. I was awake (barely) for the part where Sam save Frodo, (in Cirith ungol? I stink at the bad guy places names...) and for most of the end.

It was good to see them again, especially Sam. :D

LOTR marathon is always sooo awesome!

I guess if you want to watch them all without falling asleep you have to start early in the morning. :D

Yes, I'm sure that Andy Serkis will play an alien, since he's known as one of the world's best motion capture artists (King Kong, LOTR, Planet of the Apes)

Yeah, too bad... :( Sir Alec Guiness would have turned hundred on April 1st this year...

Hey, could someone tell me how Orc Mischief works?

You always start the next word with the last leter of the last word above. For insance Logolas ends with "S" so you have to use "S" for the first letter of the next word.

Awesome! I don't think I've done a Warg yet but I've made customs of the others. I've already finished the story so right now I'm trying to go back and find all the minikits and items in all the levels.

To change the time of day you have to sit at a campfire. It will be marked on the map as a LEGO tent I think. I don't know if you can get them until you get to Thranduil's Kingdom.

My next level is the Necromancer. When I was almost done with it, my Pc suddenly went off, so I have to do everything again. And it's not the first level I had to do twice, because in Lake-town the Tauriel-minifig suddenly couldn't move anymore. I hope this won't happen again... :(

Yeah as far as I know homeschooling is illegal in Germany, I don't know why though.

I can tell you from experience that it is a very great system. It let's parents decide what they teach their kids and it's much easier than public school (from what I know) because there is no homework (well technically it's all homework but you know =P). I can usually start my work at around 9 in the morning and finish by 2 or 3 in the afternoon so it's really nice.

But I've noticed that a lot of people on the pages are homeschooled, it's kinda weird...

maybe its because most homescoolers have a bit more time and(dare I say it) are more creatively inclined. by that I mean that they are more likely to be doing something creative than say, going out to party or something like that. so as a result they are the people who have the time and creative spark(or inclination) to do legos as and art and post them and such. me being a homeshcooler(honestly I hate that term but its the one people know) I am actually quite interested in the factor and I like to talk to people who have been in public school so as to see their view on life, legos, and the rest. if that made no sense that's fine I am not sure how well I presented that idea.

Yes that is the truth. It seems that homeschoolers (why don't you like that term?) also have higher grade averages not because they're special but because the parents are willing to get involved in their kids' education; it doesn't always happen in public school but public schoolers also do well if their parents are involved and interested in the childrens' education.

Homeschooling sounds great. I mean, being at home all the time without any annoying classmates you don't like and didn't choose is just awesome. You can live your life and get your education at the same time and in the same place.

The only thing I'm worried about is the quality of the lessons and amount of subjects that they offer, I mean parents aren't professional teachers (well, in most cases), so they can only teach you what they know.

I don't know, if it is illegal or not, but as far as I know in other countries you have to pay for education and in Germany even very poor people can go to public schools, so homeschooling would be much more expensive. Also many parents have to work and don't have the time to teach their children.

Well, you see, with homeschooling, the parents usually provide curriculums for the kids to use. Of course, in 1st through about sixth, the parent has to help a lot with the learning, but when it comes to older kids, they use the curriculums to learn the complex subjects. Another advantage to homeschooling is that you don't have to deal with teachers that you don't like! :)

In response to your 2nd paragraph. That problem is a easy fix. there are a ton of good course books you can bye as well as many co-ops where you can take classes and still have the majority of your time spent to stuff at home. a good parent who wants to homeshool should find it easy to find good material to teach there kids with. once you start getting near collage there are whole business devoted to helping your child get though collage spending the least amount of money and getting the best education possibly.

I am pretty sure its illegal in Germany. there was a whole debacle not that long ago where a family from Germany wanted to homeshcool but the German government would not let them. so they came to the states so that they could homeschool and the U.S wanted to sent them back! i remember because there was a big uproar and a whole petition and every thing. not sure what the out come was I will have to look it up.

It is not more expensive to home-schooled, that's not possible. And your parents don't need to be with you to teach you, you learn stuff everyday somehow. So I disagree. I have been home-schooled all my life. (My brother and sister went to school for a wile.) I do think it is smart to go to college, but really at a public school that only goes to 8th grade or whatever it is, what do you learn? Whats 2 + 2? How to draw in a shape? Its worthless! And now that common-core is coming it'll be worse. They are going to ruin (On purpose) the new generation.

Thank you for all the information and opinions about homeschooling. Now I have a much better mental image how it is like. All in all I really like the homeschooling system and I would definitely support it, if Germany introduced it.

Though I don't really understand the case about the German family. Why should they drive them out of their land just because they want their children to be homeschooled? That doesn't make sense... :D
I guess I'll have to read the whole article to understand what it is all about.

I don't totally understand why the German Government wanted them to stop homeschooling, I think it may have been more about religion than anything else. but the reason the US wanted to send them back is because the faction in the Us government said that the family was not under direct prosecution and that because it is a German law that(they claimed) doesn't prosecute a particular group of people we should not harbor the family. That's the case as far as I understood it.

If yes: SW LEGO Creations, the 3rd largest group on MOCpages needs your help! We have been in a very dark age for more than a year now and it's really hard to keep the group active.

Nice :) Do you like it there?

Of course I like it here. We live in the middle of nature and our houses are in a medieval Bree-like style. Sadly the new houses don't follow the classic architecture anymore. :(

As old as I am: 18 years.

It looks more like this house though:

Hey guys, I've been thinking about changing my username on YouTube and my website and stuff and I want some opinions before I change anything. Currently I'm Beardless Dwarf almost everywhere online but I used that because one of my friends is Bearded Hobbit and I couldn't think of anything better and since I'm a big fan of dwarves...

Anyway here are the ones I'm considering changing to:

Maethorneth (which is Sindarin combining 'Young' and 'Warrior' as that is the Celtic meaning of my real name Evan)

or

Estwar (which has no particular meaning, just something I kind of made up)

Please let me know which one you like better and I will NOT be changing my MOCpages name, just the name on my homepage and other accounts where I don't use my real name. Right now I'm leaning more toward Maethorneth but I really would like some input here.

I like Maethorneth better, too, because it really has a meaning and Estwar is just an invented name. The only thing that speaks against it is that it is difficult to write...

Yeah, maybe I could just use Maethor (which is the Sindarin for Warrior). I didn't realize how long Maethorneth was until I wrote it out and it is hard to write the first few times. Thanks for the input!

Except that Mulan is not a princess movie. There are no princesses in the movie at all. She is not royal, her father is just a famous warrior, and Shang is the son of the General, not the emperor, so she is not a princess.

As for Frozen, I Loved every minute of it, (except for the 1:36 song that Christof sings) I thought it was better than Tangled, and better than a lot of other Disney films.

Here's my 2 cents on how PJ will end the Hobbit:

I'm to lazy to write, so I'll just do point form:

-Azog catches up with dwarves, battle of five armies, blablabla
-DURING said battle, Kili will die to protect Tauriel, and Fili will die protecting Thorin.
-Thorin will fight Azog, and Azog will be about to kill him and Bilbo saves him, or vice versa. But Thorin dies either way afterward.
-Thorin gives bilbo his apologies for chucking him out of his big house, hugs him, dies.
-Beorn kills EVERYTHING
-Azog is slain by either Bilbo or Thorin, or maybe Beorn.

There, that's what I think will happen. Although, knowing PJ, something COMPLETELY RANDOM that was NOT IN THE BOOKS will change the whole movie!!!

I saw the new Zelda trailer, it looks quite awesome but nothing like what I was expecting. I was kind of hoping for a more realistic graphic style like Twilight Princess but this looked more cel-shaded and cartoony. Looks good though!

I heard about the Master Chief collection and it sounds awesome! This is the best reason to get an Xbox One. My only problem with it is that it won't have Reach (my favorite).

Have you seen the new trailer for Hyrule Warriors?

Interesting list!
I had the same thoughts about the whole Kili/Tauriel thing. The only thing I'm worried about is Bolg. In the book there is no Azog but in the movie he is the main enemy. Also Legolas followed Bolg on his horse at the end of the movie. I really hope he won't end up killing him or Smaug. I also don't think that Roac will come, or at least he won't speak. Even the eagles didn't speak in the movies...

Interesting stuff... I'm intrigued the most by Kili/Tauriel idea. I think that it could happen that way, but I also think that Peter Jackson might not let Tauriel live through the movie because she'll leave too many lose ends. If Kili did die in saving her, then they'll have a little moment, in which she tells him that she could love him, and then he dies. But then she's still alive, and there's all the explaining that has to be done on why she and Legolas never got together.

Hey guys. It's almost been three years since I joined. I haven't really lived up to it. Sorry. I am just so caught up in other interests, and school work is getting harder (High School next year). I have had so many other interests, (girls, video games, stuff like any other boy would) and I just didn't have the time. But, now I do. Summer break started two days ago, and I can most certainly be more active on this wonderful site. I just hope you all understand why I have slipped away. I do realize I have said something like this before, said that I was staying, but then school hits me harder than Sauron to Elendil. But now I have conquered the vast battlefield of Middle School and am getting a short break before the all-out apocalypse of high school comes. I still think about this group all the time. I think about how when I first joined, I didn't know who to say hi to since there were three admins, and then how I was the member of the month, even though I joined midway through. The sad thing is, the month after I became a moderator, things slipped away. I just want to apologize for failing to do my job there. But anyways, how has the good ol' Fellowship been?

Caleb, I am really sorry I didn't get my entry in for the guild wars contest. My router decided to just stop working and my internet company didn't fix it until today. Once again I am really sorry. I didn't want you to think I just decided not to upload the pictures. I posted on fellowship of the brick because I don't know how or don't know if you can private message people, and I didn't know if you still kept up with the guild wars page. I really wanted to enter the contest and compete. Sorry once again, Ethan Shuler.

No, sadly you can't contact people privately on MOCpages, you can only contact them on their own creations or create a private group with only the 2 of them as members. (In opposite to public groups only they can see the entries in them...)

Well, as you might have heard already, FOB is now MOCpages' largest group. There is so much to tell about what has happened during your absence, the best thing would be you ckecked up our new timeline...

Yes, football is more popular here. My dad has a hypothesis that it's more popular because there isn't any time in Soccer for commercials. And most of the revenue from sports comes from the commercials on TV. So not as many channels broadcast it. Hope that makes sense. P.S. We don't have cable so we are watching the World Cup on some Spanish network.

I agree. They shouldn't underestimate Messi, he's a top player who can decide a soccer game single-handed. But Germany on the other hand has really good team.

I like many of them. I think my favorite player is Miroslav Klose though, because he's now officially the top goalscorer, but he's still modest and refuses comparisions with great soccer legends. Also I like Müller and Schürrle very much.

Reason 3: You guys are always welcoming, to new members and returning ones.

They don't have many LOTR groups so it would be worth a try to create one. I'm not very often on flickr though, only to create picture links. Also if we created a FOB group there, it would have the same name but apart from that it would be a completely different and new group.

To those of you that watch Monty Python:
A boy named Matthew wrote to John Cleese asking him if he had a fan-club. Cleese's response:
Dear Matthew

I am afraid I'm much too important to write notes to people like you.

Please remember that I am very very very very very very important.

However, there is no John Cleese fan club (despite my importance) because they were all murdered in 1983 by Michael Palins' fan club.

I enclose a photograph to remind you of my importance.

Yours sincerely

John Cleese

I'm happy that the Hobbit movies came out, they're pretty good (Nothing beats LotR though),
But it saddens me when people heven;t read the book and just go to see the movie. My one friend has just started reading the book after watching the movie and talks to me about how the book has less than the movie and that the book is changed and lacks many great movie parts.
I told him, "No. The book wasn't changed, the movie was. The book doesn't lack anything, the movie added too much. Those movie-only parts are for the people that don't care about the books and saw the movie for the action,"
-----
To end on a brighter note, I saw an elderly man helping his wife walk to the movie showing inside of an AMC Theater. It warmed my heart. I figured that they probably read the books before any of our parents were born (these people were at least 85-90) and are finally getting to see it on the big screen after all these years ^.^

Thanks! (The first sentence is correct, the second isn't, but I understand what you wanted to say with it. :))

I totally agree. The Hobbit is a book anyone should know regardless if they watched the movie or not. I think the book is one of the best books ever. Whenever I read it there is a very special feeling I only have when I read the Hobbit, but sadly that feeling never showed up when I watched the movies.

It strayed from the original plot so much. It seems they focused more on Gandalf and Dol Guldur than the dwarves and Bilbo. I agree about the feeling. I've read the Hobbit at least eight times and I still get an adventurous feel from the very first sentence. Peter Jackson pulled a George Lucas on us. He made the prequels second, and they were not as good as the original three movies!

I know, it's quite unusual. (I mean this is the biggest and one of the most active groups here on MOCpages)

Yeah. Summer vacation I guess, people just have other things to do. It will probably pick up more when school starts *shudders*.

I heard rumors about a thing called real life. I'm not sure what it is though...

Yeah, I saw a few photos on facebook too.

A poster with Smaug and Bard, thranduil in battle armor, Tauriel, Bard between elven warriors, Gandalf and Bard in the Battle of the Five Armies. and Bilbo in mithril armor. I also saw that there is a giant Smaug head at comic con.

(BTW, maybe we can add each other on facebook?)

I too have heard rumors of this 'nameless fear'. It seems like it could be alright but only for a few minutes...
