Oh my gosh, guys. I'm so sorry I haven't been active at ALL. I apologize profusely. I've been caught up with school, tests, contests, judging, and on top of all that, my sister and her boyfriend are home vistiting from college for fall break, so I've been spending time with them. :/ I'll try to be more active. I've got to live up to my title of the May 2013 MotM! :)

I got the Video game (Lego LOTR) a couple days ago and started it today. Did anyone else notice In the cutscene when you arrive at Rivendell the Agent Smith/Hugo Weaving (Elrond) Cameo in the background? I was like: "Wuh? Oh, someone said he was in the Matrix."

Yay! Someone asked! Um well, for now the episode is fully put together(picture wise);so meaning that I need to add the effects and sounds. I also need to get mp3 LOTR soundtrack because that is the only type of music it will play. Last thing: I'll probably post a sneek peek of a scene soon. Sorry school is taking away my time. D=

I heard some interesting things about the HOBBIT extended edition. Kili will be flirtig with an elvish woman, but then Dwalin tells him that it is a man and everyone laughs. There will also be a scene where Thror shows Thranduil his treasures, but when Thranduil reachs his hand out for them, Thror closes the box immediately.

So... waht did you guys do yesterday? :)

I dressed up in my totally epic Gandalf costume and walked the streets with my friends max pointer and Ian Spacek. For my costume I have a staff that was once a small tree(so it still has part of the root systems), a hat made of felt that looks almost exactly like the real one, a light grey tunic and a dark gray cloak. only thing I was missing was his sword Glamdream(is that how you spell it?) I did not have the money to get my hands on a sword that would work :( anyway I think that answers you question right Michael?

I played it too. The graphics are very good, as well as the character moves and skills. It looks very realistic. Only the roleplay part is too weak in my opinion, and there aren't many things to do, when you played the game through, so there aren't really many extras...

Thanks so much for still being interested in my work! I know I didn't post anything for months now, nor did I comment on many MOCs at all and the only group I'm active in is The Fellowship of the Brick, but I still have hope to continue my work as soon as possible. The reason of my inactivity is that I am in my last year of school and that means a lot of work, even for a MOCpages-lover like me. For my hobbit project the main reason is probably the lack of bricks, but I shot the first photos a few months ago. No idea though when it will be out...

That's awesome! Here it comes out next Thursday, but I hope to get it the same day. I'm very excited about the extended scenes, although I don't expect too much. I really hope though that it gives each of the dwarves some more extra-time to form their character.

Brief description on that? I was thinking something more on the terms of anything LEGO, really. Well... hmm, LOTR-only can be neat too. But maybe a restriction on a specific movie, or maybe even a specific location? Like, say, we all compete to make the best Prancing Pony model, eh? Something like that would be cool. Well, any location really. That's just an example. Maybe a contest for later. :D ... lol Btw, what happened to Aidan Moon? I don't see him around anymore. :(

I'd like to make shout-out to Justin M. :P Only cause, well, there isn't any private messaging here so idk where else to do it other than a random shout-out. :P So, hello Justin M. I remember you when you were a we lil lad... used to comment on everyone of my MOCs, and I did the same to encourage you, too. Yep... lol, look where you are now. Nah, but in all seriousness though, you're MOCing skills have increased tenfold. You seem to be pretty high up with the big MOCcer's now. I remember browsing through some LEGO stuff one day and kept coming across your MOC's... lol. Familiarity, haha. xD Anyways, good MOC'n.

Michael Kringe: I'd REALLY like to instant chat with you somewhere. It's sooo hard to get to know people here when all have is a super slow commenting system which kinda just isn't the best. Anyway, when would you like to schedule? And well, anyone else who wants to do the same is more than welcome. Maybe we could all start up a FOB IRC channel or something crazy.

Mark Murphy: you're his brother, right? Or was it cousin or something? I think you're at least related to him somehow beyond just the pages. Anyways uhhh.... yeah, hi, lol. I forgot what I was gonna say. xD

:) No he's not my brother, or cousin, I am not physically related to him at all, but we are good friends.

I'm just gonna make a few shout-outs. :P I feel like I am gonna do this a lot. :P

Mark Murphy: How've you been lately? Haven't heard much about you~

Everyone else: hi. :P

I'm well, thanks for asking,

As for me never being here, or you not hearing about me, I am exited to say that I only have a couple classes next semester, so I will be much more active on MOCpages and with me Legos.

You could possibly bring in another mod too. With over 1600k members, it might be a smart move. At the same time, you chaps have already developed a fantastic system! Please don't think I'm trying to meddle, I just thought I'd throw the idea out there. If there is another mod election, I'm gonna' put in a word for my buddy Lee Muzzy. I think he'd be good. He's very active and knows his LOTR. My two cents!

Lee know a lot about LOTR and is very active in some of our most popular topics, so I think he should get a chance in this election.

BTW, sorry for the inactivity, I was extremely busy with school (especially school), and life. :/ It has lessened off a bit, so I can be more active now! :)

I understand why you would suggest this, but the reason we have as many as we have and no more is because of the nine members of the fellowship. Even though it is only a minimal staff, it is also tradition.

Regardless, I agree with Michael, we can demote Monsterlego, and we can hold an election.

Awesome! I want a teacher like him!! :D

I read in the reviews that the Desolation of Smaug is going to be awesome, but they added a lot to the story (e.g the whole Kili-Tauriel-thing) and the cliffhanger isn't that good. Though it is said to be one of the 10 best movies of this year.

From the trailers and production videos it seems more like a legolas-tauriel thing. Thranduil even says to Tauril Legolas will never be allowed to marry her. And in the trailer he says "Legolas has grown very fond of you. Do not give him hope while there is none."

NOOO!! I CAN't believe it!!!
"Boyens argues that Legolas’ interest in Tauriel – and competing with Kili for her heart – aids a storyline in The Lord of the Rings. “It was interesting with Legolas because one of the things we were trying to do was… he hates dwarves in The Fellowship of the Ring."This is animosity that had to have come from somewhere. What was it about? We wanted to make it a little more emotion than just, ‘I don’t like them.’” NO NO NO NO!! horrible idea!!

I'm on MOCpages for a few years now, so that's a very hard question, because I have many friends now here.

For instance I would like to meet people like Mark, Thomas, Josh O, Chris, Caleb, David, Evan, Ian,... and the list could go on and on. This page has just so many great people.

Well for some of us it would be hard considering there are users from all over the world, but for those of us in the US there Brickworld. The chicago brickworld usually has a lot of moccers who frequent mocpages come to it. Last brickworld I had the pleasure of meeting Chris Phipson, Ian Spacek, Paul Vermeesch, and Max Pointner. Collabrative builds aren't uncommon so if you got enoigh people, you could do a fellowship of the brick collabrative piece.

So that mainly includes:

Frederick B.

Evan Botkin
Ethan
Finn Tegotash

and David the Fire Ninja Jedi. (It would be unfair not to add him to the list. Although he isn't very active at the moment, he still has got the most merits of all group members)

I think the main reason why we don't have as many creations as other groups is that we only allow LOTR MOCs. If our members were allowed to add all their MOCs we would be the third or second for creations too.

True, but look at the Star Wars group. They are 4th. They have less members, but over 6000 creations. We don't even have as many creations as we do members. We just need more LOTR fans. :)

One thing I never really understood about the LoTR and the Hobbit was the fact that Gollum was still able to survive after loosing the Ring. Wasn't the Ring the only thing sustaining him? So, from the time that Bilbo came into possession of it, shouldn't Gollum have begun to deteriorate? We see this happen to Bilbo after passing it to Frodo.

My response to that is that Gollum did get older, but it is only 60 years, and on someone who has been streched for as long as Gollum has, it eventually just doesn't show as much as it does on a healthy Hobbit like Bilbo.

Gollum had the ring for hundreds of years, so its effect on him was much bigger than the effect on Bilbo. I guess Bilbo didn't have the ring long enough so the power of the ring couldn't grow too strong and he aged after he had given it away. also in the book there are many years between Bilbo's birthday and the War of the Ring while in the movie it was onbly 2 years, so that is probably the main reason why Bilbo looked so old in the end.

^This.

LOTR had you hating some characters and loving others, and the whole time there wasn't a moment that didn't feel "Middle Earth"y, whereas during the Hobbit I had so many moments feeling that it really was people just putting on suits and talking like people from the book. (Even if it was that in LOTR, it didn't feel like it)

I agree. Sometimes it really felt like they tried to make a LOTR replication, but it wasn't as strong in the end. They should have made more of an own movie instead of a LOTR copy.

Welcome to Hurt and Heal XIX!

This Hurt and Heal is about the second Hobbit movie, The Desolation of Smaug.

The rules are the same as in the last one:
There are 20 characters. You can remove a life from a character and give it to an other one. The game will last until there are only three or four characters left. Then we will choose a winner. Also there will be health limits. The first limit is 30. with the time we will raise (or decrease) the limits. You are only allowed to take a turn 5 times per day. You cannot go twice in a row.

The characters are:

1. Gandalf
2. Bilbo
3. Thorin
4. Bolg
5. Balin
6. Dwalin
7. Bofur
8. Bombur
9. Thranduil
10. Beorn
11. Gloin
12. Master of Esgaroth
13. Alfrid
14. Bain
15. Bard
16. Smaug
17. Necromancer
18. Kili
19. Legolas
20. Tauriel

Yeah, it is alright to talk freely on anything, everybody, BUT: talk about things that you feel can go on into a discussion with another person. Not one liners that you don't even think people will respond to. Keep it in conversational format, basically. *thumbs up* Happy moc'n, everyone. :D

I deleted one of your comments when I was going though the ones that were called to my attention. even though the comment itself was not offensive or rude. I don't think we need to have that conversation here.

I also don't thing the the fellowship of the brick is the right place that is not Lego or Lotr related. esp. information about other people. if you want that kind of information please go ask it somewhere else. I am a new mod so if Micheal thinks I am wrong then i will judge differently next time. but whats done is done and that is my opinion on the subject. take it or leave it.

I think I invited you, because you make good customs. And you very often can't tell if someone knows LOTR or not, only by their MOCs.

Like Evan said, the rules say the MOD election is every three months, but we don't accept more than 9 admins and mods, so if nobody is really inactive, there won't be any demotions and thus we won't be able to do the election.

The number of 9 admins and mods is for traditional reasons, because our group name is "The Fellowship of the Brick" and the Fellowship of the Ring also has 9 companions. The three admins are standing for Aragorn, Gandalf and Frodo and the mods for the other six companions.
