Wow, that's very nice! It seems dwarves let Thranduil know what was their purpose, but did you notice snow when Thorin is telling it? These are two different scenes!

Just, wow. Amazing. The only thing that bugged me was the way Gandalf said to Bilbo "you'll need it," haha I know its something so dumb too! The Sauron/Necromancer story arc is what intrigues me most to be honest...they showed the Eye! And that shot of the orc army marching gave me chills! I'm also wondering why Bilbo looked at the Ring and covered his mouth, almost as if in shock....any thoughts?

The eye!!!!! Smaug's voice sounds chilling, the cgi that looked odd (Azog, and the elves running in the trees) has definitely been improved....looks quite promising.

I think Smaug's voice sounds weird. (a bit mechanic, or like Sidious' voice after his duel with Mace Windu in episode 3)

We saw an orc army!

I don't think that they're from the Battle of Five armies though, because they aren't riding wargs. I also heard that the Battle of Dol Guldur will be important for the end of the second movie.

Well remember, not ALL the orcs rode wargs in the battle, just those higher in command. I think its quite possible that it's them marching from Dol Guldur, towards Erebor (cliff-hanger ending like AUJ?). Though it does look somewhat like Mordor to be honest...but I think the slopes of Dol Guldur is much more likely.

Yes, they look very much like Dol Guldur orcs to me. But who knows? I read that the Battle of Five Armies will be more a battle of 15 armies in the movie, so maybe they'll join Azog's warg riders.

I have a theory that Azog will recruit the goblins, who are also looking for revenge, and that Azog is already working for Sauron (the Necromancer of course)

Sounds good. I also heard some rumors that Sauron brought him back to life. That's a clever idea to connect the two great main enemies. (Except from Smaug)

I feel like they're all going to be connected in some way...it'd be a great way to show that Middle-Earth really is in danger, and that it's not just coincidence (like Saruman "believed"....liar!)

Also, have you guys seen how ridiculous Beorn looks in human form? They've released pictures and....just wow. Some of the other characters seemed drastic, but only because they were different from what we'd seen in LOTR. They all still felt like they could belong in Middle Earth...however, Beorn looks like he belongs in the 80's....look it up if you want.

I think he looks weird, I don't like his hair. And where is his long black beard? I think the actor choice is good though and he's still better than Kili...

I honestly don't think he looks better than Kili. Yes, his beard could've been better, but it still looks "Middle-Earthy." Beorn though...he looks like a hedgehog. And I honestly don't like the actor :P

Hm, could have been worse...

I'm quite satisfied with Thranduil, Bard and Smaug though... And Tauriel is made up, but she isn't bad too. I'm curious what her part will be like in DOS.

they all look exactly as I imagined (give or take a few minor things obviously). And yeah, I don't mind her addition to the film at all!
