Those look to be pretty promising.
At least they changed up the look of the Lion and Dragon Knights a bit, not that we don't already have enough.

I agree. It feels like a few years ago they didn't have any interesting LEGO sets and know they have thousands and you can't decide which ones to buy.

The link(s) that Andrew Posted has like.....everything! I want to get the Battle at Black Gate and the ship from the LOTR series. I'd also want to get the big gold mine set from the Lone Ranger. Did you see the Lone Ranger's guns?! They look amazing! Plus that big mine set has a lot of the new sandy tan elements! That color has to be one of my favorites!

Maybe there will even be one or two more of them, since that is the thing LEGO usually does with small bricks that are in a high quantity in a set.

Anyway here are my thoughts on the new Lotr sets:
Wizard battle: I find this to be a great little set for the price even though not completely necesary with an Orthanc exclusive coming, but Saruman looks fantastic and it seems Gandalf have a new expression too.
Council of Elrond: To me this is a must have with Elrond (with multi coloured cape), Arwen, new expressions for Frodo, orange leaves, great model and a decent price too.
Black Gate: Seems like a good set,the minifigures are simply marvelous, Gandalf is just like Saruman fantastic, Aragorn is great, the orcs arent very special but i gues its good to add a few more to my army, but star of this set to me is Mouth of Sauron with that gorgueos helmet.
The eagles claws doesent bother me that much really and it would have been welcole addition to the Warg attack set too.
The gate itself looks pretty nice and i find it funny that they have given it doorknobsXD
Corsair ship: The pirate fans will probably be happy about this one.
I am quite open for sets of less memorable scenes, its just that i would rather have a Eowyn vs Witch king set first.
Anyway the ship looks very good and those shields will probably come in handy for future MOCs .
The figures look great and PJ corsair is a welcome addition.
Overall this seems like a good wave of sets and i willmost likely be geting

I agree in generally, but Council of Elrond set could be better, I mean they could have gave Gimli another clothes and hair instead of helmet. They also should have added more minifigures, like old Gloin or one of the elves, i.e. Glorfindel or Erestor.

Cool! Nice overview of the LOTR sets! Unfortunately, I wont' be getting all of them, but I plant to get the boat and Corsair ship.
Yeah, the shields are awesome! Not to mention the chains, sails, and minifigures :).
I agree with you about the minifigures that come with the Black Gate. Finally, an Aragorn that doesn't have the traditional outfit! The blue is quite awesome looking! The helmet for the Mouth is also amazing!

Yes, Gloin would be the better addition to the MOC. They already have the hairpiece in a different color and it would be more interesting to have an other LOTR dwarf than only Gimli.

I agree on the part that Gloin would be a more interesting addition to the set, but that Gimli launcher would have been pretty useless without Gimli wouldnt it?
And if they took it away the set would have zero action features(unless, of course you find spinning chairs very funny)The kids could maybe play out council scenes, but i can imagine them getting a little boring after a while.An alternative would be Gimli without helmet like somebody sugested, but the they would have to make an new mould, and this set allready have two i dont think they would do that.So seeing it from a buseniss view, i think the best thing is too just include anhother normal Gimli.If we are lucky he might have a new expression though.But if i just forget buseniss and such for a while i completely agree with you:-)

I think they are cool, hopefully the commander dudes hat with shorter hair molded to it (not the evil ugly guys hat, the calvary commander dude) will be in more sets with different colored hats. Also I noticed that the calvary builder set, (or one of 'em) has a hat with a larger bill that the average hat, so it's like a ten gallon hat, without the giant top. :P

I love the dark tan elements! I'm planning to get the mine for mainly that reason! Plus, you get the Lone Ranger and Tonto with the cool tomohawk and pistols (i.e. Star Wars Bounty hunters) :)

I totally agree. I used to like LEGO much better, when the designs were so simple, but still detailful. The new designs very often ruin the minifigs, because there are too many details or they look odd.

I really want them all but if I had to pick one I'd pick the ship. It has a lot of great minifigs (me being a customizer, that is a very important detail for me) and some nice parts that would be good for LotR and Pirate themed MOCs (of which I do both).
The Council of Elrond is another good one. It has those nice arches for Elf-Themed buildings, great new figs and some strange orange-ish foliage pieces. Plus lots of white parts as well.
The Wizard Battle is a good set mostly for the Figs but also there are those 1x2 'log' like bricks in black. Then the 1x1 black cones. O course the Palantir is a must have. And there are those yellow crystal ball pieces. Black slopes (cheese and otherwise) and some dark grey plate pieces but mostly I'd want this one for the figs.
The Black Gate has (again) beautiful figs, especially Gandalf and the mouth. The great Eagle is definitely a great addition but though he looks good, I think the claws should be able to hold a minifig because that's a very big part of what the Eagles do in the movies and books. The parts are good too. Those black spiky things are good. Again, lots of black slopes (cheese and otherwise) and black tile pieces. Unfortunately, neither the Ship nor the Black Gate come with Anduril! Just one of the normal swords which is saddening. Too bad they didn't make a new piece for it.
Well my reasons for buying the Pirate ship set just turned into a full scale review on all four sets! Oh well.

Unfortunately, neither the Ship nor the Black Gate come with Anduril! Just one of the normal swords which is saddening. Too bad they didn't make a new piece for it.

We may get it in 2014....it seems they release new pieces each year. They added new gun molds for the Lone Ranger, and also with Ninjago they made a mold for the Fire Sword, and later the elemental swords in that cool shape whatever thingy.
With that in mind, I'm hoping for the iconic weapons for LOTR. I'm guessing that eventually, they will come out with the Narnia theme! From watching the three movies of that, I can already pick out more than 15 sets!

Maybe. If LotR goes strong like Star Wars, we will have remakes of old sets most likely in a few years so they may include it then. But for now we can just use this part from Brickforge: http://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=384

Indeed, Brown Wargs would be a huge hit in my opinion. I definitely would like to get my hands on some if they came out with them.
It is funny considering the 15 dollar packs usually come with two to three figs, while the ten (Twelve now, where are the good old days?) dollar packs come with four. :P Yeah, brown wargs would be awesome, especially to make a Red Riding hood Once Upon a Time themed moc. :)

Funny, it seems to me that it's got a picture of all five istari, hopefully Tolkien Estates won't see that :O!
But i agree the tower looks amazing. It looks huge besides the designers. I will definitely be buying Orthanc (thanks to my new job I will have a lot more money to spend on LEGOs). And I would like the Pirate ship one as well. Might get the wizard battle but might not. Council of Elrond; maybe probably not though. Same with the Black Gate.

Ask your parents what you can do aroun the house for some extra cash! It might not pay as much as a job, but it's less stressful.
Things you might be able to do:
Now the lawn
Weed whack
Weed garden/lawn
Fix up the bushes or trees on your front lawn
Edge the sidewalk
Paint things like a fence, parts of a garage
Take out stumps (if you have any)
Vacuume, dust, mop, clean different rooms I the house (if it's not already for chores)
Wash the dishes every night after dinner
Etc

ARRRRRGH!! In Honduras, the nearest store that sells LEGO stuff is about 4 hours away from my house, and they charge double the normal price! And they don't have any LotR or Hobbit sets! It can get very annoying. So I won't be getting any new sets until august at the earliest. Maybe not until November :(

That's a good idea. The only problem would be the shipping. I don't know how much that would cost to get it shipped here. I might look into it! The other option would be for me to order it, have it shipped to someone in the US that is coming for a visit. I don't know when someone will be visiting after the new stuff comes out.
