I'm excited to see Evangeline Lilly as she's a great actress and I'm sure would make a beautiful elf.

I'm a bit worried, however, that the movie will have changed the story as much as the first did.

Yes, it would be cool, if we can form the whole company. Maybe we should even do a role-play game topic in this group.

(For some reasons I still can't see Radagast and Bifur though)... :(

I was thinking about that,Making a Role Playing Game, but not with building but with words and choices like so

Your company of,whatever you are, are heading North past the Misty Mountains and encounter some orcs,
A. Attack them
B. Avoid them
C. Or you can discuss what to do
I dont know your guys' thoughts, but we could set up a system.

Sounds good! My idea was that it is like "Finish the Story", with the only difference that everyone gets a role. (Gandalf, Thorin, Bilbo, etc.)

Interesting...that's a great idea! If we finish that story,we can do The Fellowship of the Ring,or just our own made up characters =D. So how would it work?

Hmm... I think you should be free to decide everything that your character does. (Gandalf (goes to the stone, sits down and looks at the strange person. "What is your name, dwarf?") They should be also allowed to decide what the characters say, that aren't the roles of anyone and there should also be a few narrators who tell the story when there aren't any dialogues.

Instead of making a costume during the 2 days before it, I'm going to make an AWESOME costume for either the Necromancer, one of the wizards, or maybe the witch-king. When I went to the theatre, there was someone dressed up as Gollum, in a skin coloured body suit with a loincloth, and a wicked FULL HEAD Gollum mask!

I watched it. It was only 5 minutes, but we were able to see Bard, Thranduil on his throne, Lake-town, Master of Esgaroth, Bombur being carried by the other dwarves, Lake-town soldiers and a scene in Lake-town in which Thorin says: "We are the dwarves of Erebor! We are here to reclaim our homeland!"

Well, I never liked the Elves of Mirkwood. And the Laketowners were trying to claim some of the gold from the Dwarves so I considered them to be bad guys for at least part of the book. But We are getting really off topic with this discussion.

We've been getting nothing but pictures of characters from the teaser with quotes from the trailer which we already memorized because we've had nothing to watch but the teaser trailer. It's unnerving.

Good to know I'm not the only one who's memorized it! XD
But I'm yearning for something new. Maybe today, in honor of Bilbo
and Frodo's birthday they'll release something...I'm praying they do.

I know something new, but not much. I heard that they already released the book "The Hobbit Annual 2014".

It is said that there are some quite important changes in the story, for instance Beorn in bear form hunts the dwarves until they find his house and hide in it and Tauriel likes some of the dwarves very much. She and Legolas follow them until they reach Lake-town.

Yes. He hunts the dwarves because he doesn't like them, but when he finds out that they're enemies of Azog, he helps them Also Azog killed his friends and now he is the last skin-changer in Middle-Earth. I think the movie version is too agressive and why should he hate dwarves or hunt them? That doesn't really make sense...

They left out so many funny elements of the books, because they just don't fit the dark atmosphere of Peter Jackson's movies... :(

Well I always thought some of the comical moments in the movie were a bit over-the-top, so what "funny elements" do you mean?

For instance the orc song mentioned before. I think it was kind of funny and wouldn't fit the whole athmosphere. Or they left out the elves' song about Thorin's beard etc...

I agree, but it will also be very sad as Thorin will die....and it will end the trilogy. I think that the DOS will be the best because it continues a pretty good first part and will end with a lot of expectation or excitement. Knowing Peter Jackson, I assume the action will be excellent as well. You can't get much better than bears, giant spiders, elves, barrel escapes and a dragon! :D
