I've recently stopped building Bionicle and I am going to move into Science Fiction. I am new to this community of builders and I would like to know of some groups where I can get to know the community of science fiction builders.

Hmmm...Well, these are some of the more common groups I'm familiar with:

Space - http://mocpages.com/group.php/17

House of Mech - http://mocpages.com/group.php/499

Dawn Forge - http://mocpages.com/group.php/1648

Lego Sci-Fi - http://mocpages.com/group.php/98

Unfortunately, I don't have time to visit them, so I'm not sure what their level of activity is. But, if you start there and just ask a few others what would be some good groups to join, I'm sure you can get where you'd like to be fairly quickly.

Good Luck!

I have just started and could use some advice. I have tried joining a group, but I have not been excepted yet. I don't want to go and ask people to see my creations, but then how do I get myself noticed? I build dragons, and greatly admire Stormbringer.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

ok first up the term is ACCEPTED, excepted means left out. Secondly, try more groups, not all of them require authorisation to join. The "Get your creations noticed!!" http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/3112 group for example.

Commenting and rating is a good way to get noticed, but be polite and positive.

Check out the home page http://www.mocpages.com/ and explore page http://www.mocpages.com/explore.php for the more popular mocs and mocers. Commenting on those can raise your profile as a lot of people see who else likes (and are commenting on) them.

But don't worry about likes and comments, we all start slow at first, interaction with other members is the only sure way to raise your profile.

My advice would be to do a search for groups that specialise in the stuff you like to build and apply to join as many as you can.

BUT: remember to read the group rules first.

ok best place to start is check out the explore page http://www.mocpages.com/explore.php see which are the more popular sci fi mocs. Then check out the home pages of the guys and gals that built them.

on their home pages you will find lists of the groups they use.

The Sci Fi community is quite diverse and a lot of groups are quite specialist, ie mech related, star ship related, etc. I'm not aware of a sci fi group that covers everything, but I'm sure some exist.

Ah the Sci-Fi community, my personal favorite :).

I do have a bit of a theme going... :p Not meaning to self advertise or anything.

But anyway, just as others have said, Join some groups and just keep building in the theme. Eventually you will start to get some amazing advice from some amazing builders.

If you're interested in Star Wars why not come over to SWLC http://mocpages.com/group.php/2364 ? We are very active. We have rules preventing spam and we have monthly challenges that help improve the popularity and skill of builders in the group.
