You didn't lose them. You just shoved em in the bottom of the hamper hoping your mom wouldn't see them...

I'll give you a minute to figure that one out.

And yes, being an admin I "could" start my own thread, but since you've been chomping at the bit to start one for a while, I guess I'll let you have this one.

I'm always honored to be a part of someone's creation. But... ask Kelso first, he really deserves the recognition more than I do. (no joke there, the man's a lego god and deserves a lot more recognition than what we give him) If he would rather pass, then I'll be more than happy to take his sloppy seconds and be part of your story!

What would you say is your best moc? And what do you think is the best moc you've seen?

I actually had to think about this one quite a bit (which is why I didnít respond the first time. I wasnít ignoring you, just hesitant). Itís hard to pin down which is my favorite moc of mine, so what Iíve done is gone through a few of my favs and picked out what I like about them.

http://mocpages.com/moc.php/140857

This one I really liked for a couple of reasons. First, it was fun to make a moc about my favorite Lego couple. Seriously, those guys are some of THE coolest people youíd ever want to meet, Lego or not. Secondly, it was really my first moc where EVERYTHING just came together perfectly. My builds I was happy with, the lighting was just right, the pics turned out nicely, andÖ letís face itÖ it was pretty darn funny!

http://mocpages.com/moc.php/187532

This one, while not the most complex build of all time, holds a special place for being the worldís first (to my knowledge) fully functional Lego water flume ride! Iím going to try to remake this bigger and better for Brickworld this year. If youíre there, stop by and see version two in all its kick (bleep) glory!

http://mocpages.com/moc.php/187040

I got a lot of flak for color choice on this one, but I love it for another reason. I had to basically INVENT a new technique to make it work. Read through the description to see what I had to come up with and why.

http://mocpages.com/moc.php/189958

And finally this one. This moc not only had all the elements of the Moc Wars post above, but also included a lot of new building techniques that I hadnít used too extensively in the past. The playability factor of the building exterior was a big bonus for not only me, but my daughter as well. She loved making the minifigs go spinning through the revolving door. And to top it all off, this moc had something that you donít see a lot of, collaboration. Dylan and I collaborated on this so that both his and my stories overlapped in the middle. A stroke of genius if I do say so myself (and I just did).

There ya go. As you can see, itís like asking me to pick a favorite child here. Each one holds a special place in my Lego heart (yes, my heart IS actually made out of Lego) and itís impossible to choose a single favorite.

Now then, to your next question. Which is my favorite MOC that Iíve ever seen? Again, itís like having to pick a favorite child here, but I wonít go through all the mocs I love for different reasons and try to narrow it down to one for you here.

My favorite moc of all time, (at this point) has got to be Mark Kelsoís ďThe Rusty Ferret.Ē http://mocpages.com/moc.php/80130
Now, itís not just because he named it after a long standing joke between the two of us, although that does help. No, itís because I remember the first time Mark emailed me pics of the concept art that inspired him to build this. I KNEW he could build awesome ships already, he had blessed us with the Invisible Hand, but this was his baby from start to finish. He wasnít trying to make something that everyone was familiar with, he was taking concept art and turning that into his creation. The man is an artist beyond reproach. Every time he touches ABS, it turns into gold. I knew my favorite moc would be one of his because of the labor of love that each of his builds are. The man pours his heart and soul into every project, and he has never, I repeat NEVER disappointed us with one of his posts.

Which sir inspires a newer question! What is your favorite thing to build? And what sir is a "dream project" for you(personally I want to make a giant D-day paratrooper dio of Americans fighting in a town and in the country side all around with tanks and losta guys with Brickarms. Sorry for that I'm fantasizing.)? Something that you would love to build but will probably never get the chance(e.g. too expensive). Or do you not have one?

Well now, let's see here... What do I LOVE to build? As much as it pains me to say this, I really love building town stuff. Now, I've always considered myself to be a "Sci-Fi" guy. I would LOVE to be able to build an invisible hand or rusty ferret but I don't have the time/money/skill/patience to even consider attempting something of that scale.

I've found that the builds of mine that turn out the "best" are town builds. Let's take for example my latest build (that you guys haven't seen yet 'cause I haven't taken the pics). This is a two parter. I built a building for a friends group project for brickworld. I was asked to build a scene from a movie so I took it a step further and not only built the scene, but also the exterior of the building that the scene takes place in. The front of the building and the roof open up to reveil the scene inside. Pretty darn cool if I do say so myself (just did). Now, being as this isn't MY project, I can't reveil it to you all before brickworld unless the person says I can. If not, you'll just have to wait till after BW to see it. The other build I just completed yesterday is a small, two story suburban house, complete with flower beds, front porch and white picket fence... Now, the upside here, is that my daughter thinks that I built it for her and she plays with it like a doll house with minifigs. She's going to be real upset when I take it to BW to put on the Sterling's layout.

So, to answer your question... as much as I'd love to be a sci-fi guy, I find myself drifting towards town more and more these days... I think I need an intervention.

John, what Pvt Snowball said is correct and you can also help. For example, I have taken to joining a few groups that younger builders invited me to. What I try to do is invite the more positive people to those groups like Heath Flor, Hans, Shifu and Leda, also known as the Dem Bones Gang for some reason....hmmmm, anyway. Once in these groups I attempt to encourage the younger builders and squash all drama, it is about having fun. We can change the pages by changing the attitude to a more positive, fun, and supportive one. I also puruse people's pages I have never seen and offer up some positive comments on their work. Again, positive thinking and acting will stop drama and make these pages a better place. A faster server would help as well.....cheers!

Exactly that! You aided Noah huh? Nice work, he is a good kid, and he was on my team in the MOCAthalon. Yes, advise, teach if they will take it and be positive. I try to do that with everyone, I have my moments where I get annoyed at some of the actions they take, but I always remember they are young and growing. During the MOCathalon a fist-full of builders were awarded four 'Five' scores, which meant the MOC was worthy of a perfect score, in the judges' eyes. Will the folks who actually experienced that honor get appointed their own question thread? Or do we still have to wait... (Not that *I* care... If you're registered for the event and have a table (or more) assigned to you, then they're expecting you to set up on Thursday. I don't actually know if you can register only for the weekend being as I've never done that myself. If you're only going to be there on the weekend, then I would suggest letting the brickworld team know that. But I wouldn't see a problem with only setting up on Saturday. Like you get a bunch of bricks and build with any idea where its going? Build for the sake of building.
Also sir are my questions getting too close to uncovering your grand scheme for world domination?

Standards? HAHAHA you think I have standards? That's funny! Thanks for making me laugh.

I usually have a basic concept of what I want to see before I start building, but I don't make plans or schematics for a build. Basically, I just throw my bricks against the wall and where they land on the floor is what I go with.

As for my plans for world domination... The third stage is under way.

What the...Chris how in the name of peLekhUn have I been here almost a year and managed to add neither you nor Kelso to my favorite builders? That must be why you have been so determinedly ignoring my creations X-D. It's okay, man, you can be in the club now. And don't think I didn't see you sneak into Mandatory Arbitration through the back door either...wait, I didn't mean it like that...wrong group again...

Sir may I ask what moc has been the most fun to build? Yes, sir I do recognize that all builds sorta are kinda really a whole lota fun. But which did you absolutely love to make and hate to tear down(my miniscale Vietnam firebombing mission and WWI dio were mine). And which has been the hardest to build?

Word is out, some guy named Jordy Johnson masqueraded as Sarah and basically made it look like Heber did it.

Now the ban hammer can be used with accuracy.

I owe you one Nick. Thanks. Funny thing is, I was the one to make him surrender. I made him stop what he was doing. Oh, and Heber was in it too. He said once: "Me and Sarah are friends." And also: "We've been friends for a long time." Yep.

I never knew it was going to be like this though.

Thanks. Me and some others had a good laugh about this, but it's clear you didn't.

Hey Warrior. Lemme explain (again).

Alright. Heber knew about this, very much so in fact. However, he didn't play the role of Sarah. I did.

"I'm friends with Sarah." Giving hints to the joke I see, Heber?

Oh, when Sarah was in Red Deer with Heber, that was fake. I just got really bored. And he went with it. :P

Chris, I gotta hand it to you. The way you deal with this kind of juvenile nonsense, and not lose your mind in the process, is nothing short of saint-like. But, don't you ever feel like you got the short end of the moderator stick? Like I just imagine Kelso going downstairs to work on the EoC while you're stuck cleaning up after the kids... X-D

Not sure if this the right place for this comment, but it's probably as good a place as anywhere...

MOCpages is getting v e r y s l o w again, and is also becoming full of, well, rubbish - thousands of unused 'Groups' with 3 members who last logged in 13 months ago, and even active groups with extensive threads that have long been abandoned or have run their course and been locked.

Someone in another group 'Improving MOCpages' had an idea, which I reckon a few people have been thinking, that all the clutter on MOCpages must surely be slowing the servers up (plus it's really reducing the quality of MOCpages content).

Is this correct, and if so, how do the Admins feel about introducing a policy where Groups and Threads are deleted after 12 months (or any agreed length of time) of zero inactivity?

This would obviously not extend to Accounts or Creations.

Thanks for reading : )

That's one of the ideas we've brought up to Sean, so it's good to know that we're not the only ones thinking it. MOCpages is about to get a MAJOR revamp here in the coming weeks (still no firm date, but Sean assures us it's going to be soon). Once that goes through, MOCpages will be "lightning fast" (Sean's words) and hopefully this will be a non issue. But I'll bring it up to him again and see what can be done... 'cause... I really like that idea.

Thanks! ~ Chris.

Saint Christopher of MOCpages... That does have a certain ring to it doesn't it? Seriously though, I don't ever feel like I've gotten the short end of the stick. I just happen to (currently) have more time to be able to devote to the pages than Mark does. And don't let appearences fool you guys. There's SO much stuff that we all do behind the scenes that none of you ever get to see. So it's not like Mark is just sitting back, enjoying omnipotent powers and doing nothing for them. The only real difference between what he and I do is I talk more.

Oh, and he's the one with talent... forgot that bit.
