Well i'm seeing several sources saying £1.99 each here in the UK, but we tend to pay more for Lego than the US.

I'm really looking forward to these hitting the shelves, and the second wave too, I just hope they get stocked in plenty of places. I've read elsewhere that TRU in Europe will not stock them because they will be too easy to steal - BOOOO!

I'm torn on the random element though. A lot of posts i'm reading elsewhere have people planning to print out the barcode sheet (which is already available), take an iphone with a barcode reader app, or just feel through the packs to get the figs they want. How long before Bricklink is awash with VERY expensive zombies, forestmen, robots, etc. from people who have done just that? Poor kids who don't know the tricks will get a lot of divers and skaters I feel.

I have discussed this issue at length in other groups, but....2 pounds UK translates into what in US money? Isn't the pound stronger than the dollar? Also, easy to steal? SWEET! I mean, um, no, that would be wrong, very wrong indeed!

(Also, I saw MOCpages is almost at 200000 MOCs. Yay us.)

Yeah, but 175,000 of em are sharpied clones...

Moving on, I'm really looking forward to the figs! The one's I want the most are the nurse, cheerleader and clown... I know, shocker right?

Gonna have to come up with a way to figure out how to tell which package is which.

Ah. I thought that you'd have to buy a pack with all of them inside. Apparently not though.

Same here. Though I guess it's okay if the prices are low enough. Then you could just scoop up a handful of 'em and see what you get without the price being out of this world. And me with no iphone, I'll probably feel up the bag like some sort of weirdo to make sure I get what I want.

Yeah... I know *sigh*. I too am not going to let it slide and try not to restart this debate. I've said it before, I have no problems with kids sharpieing up thier clones, just for the love of all that is holy, put them in a MOC and stop posting them each individually... ("Here's one with a red stripe down his helmet, and here's version two with the red stripe only halfway down the helmet")

Sigh...

Alright, where were we? Ah yes, the figs. Also need to pick me up one of those robots, the magician, the crash test dummy, the wrestler...

oh heck with it, I need em all! (but I do need about 12 cheerleaders and at least 5 nurses).

Yeah, I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to the collectors figs. I'm a bit disappointed in the "surprise" fig aspect of it all, but can live with Lego's decision to go that route.

And honestly, it probably won't take us long as a collective (I'm hoping) to figure out the US barcodes for each individual fig. We've got a list now for the European version, so I suspect the US won't be too far behind.

Oh, those poor cheerleaders when Chris, Lee, and I are done with 'em!

That's what the guy who painted a Virgin Mary with fecal matter said - "it's art".

That's also what that guy who chained up a dog to the wall of an art museum and let it starve to death said.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

While I believe that art is subjective ("in the eye of the beholder") and am a strong supporter of freedom of expression, I also believe that hacks who crank out things done in poor taste should not expect their cacophonies to be called "art" by the larger community.

There's also the artist who decided to can his own feces, the cans were like worth their weight in gold.

But it turns out it was plaster, not doo.
