Mark, when do you anticipate unveiling the finale of Apocalypsis? I need to know because I want the last episode of Blockocop to come out on the same day -- shall we say, April of 2012?

Alright, I've got a tentative schedule for it now, so I'll be specific...sometime later. How's that?

Actually, it's going to be my primary (and perhaps ONLY) focus after the completion of the Eye of Chaos. A LOT of people have stuck with it, and continued to ask me about it, so I really want to give it my fullest attention soon...for their sakes, if nothing else. Now, to give you a bit more insight as to where things stand...

Part 3 is completely written, and shouldn't be too difficult to build (famous last words!). But it WILL require the help of a fellow builder, and the timing may depend on that person's own agenda.

Part 4 is vague at best, and will need a lot of time for writing and crafting the events that lead to the conclusion.

Part 5 is probably going to be the final episode. Certain events are already planned out meticulously (as they were the catalyst for starting this whole story in the first place), but creating visuals in Lego for what's going to happen will be challenging at best, and I'm probably looking at half a year's worth of effort in this final episode alone.

All in all, I'd guess the last three episodes should come out within the next year and a half, at six month intervals. That's provided Phipson doesn't rope me into some insane contest or project, and work stays steady...*sigh*...so what are the odds of THAT!!!!?

So like, is this a set and certain person? What would that imply if it wasn't? Just so you know, it'd be a great honor working on this story with you (A giant honor) and I would totally be interested if you don't already have someone picked out. I do have a certain individual in mind, but haven't spoken with her/him yet. IF this individual is kind enough to agree, then we'll have to decide together on the schedule. What I'm actually needing are specific parts that she/he has a good number of. And that's probably all I should say about it for the time being.

Meanwhile, I definitely appreciate your offer to assist with the project, though. Maybe some day, I can do a collaborative with several builders the way Keith G. did with "Zero Hour."
If so, I'd love to have your help.

It needs to be different in SOME capacity. There are groups forming just about every day that do the same thing over and over again, with just a different name.

Ask yourself if what you're forming the group for already exists (friends chatting, a popular topic, a common theme...all been done a hundred times).

Once you come up with something worthwhile, then be sure to let people know about it. If it's a good idea, and you promote it, you should see some success.

Good luck!

Mark: I have a real question, for a change, I am having a bit of difficulty Photoshopping a moc that has details sticking out. For example, tree leaves and grass blades. It seems I always end up cutting a leaf or a blade, etc. I have noticed many others do this quite well and the small details remain perfectly in the edited picture. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong? I have tried many different techniques that usually involve cutting, or clone stamp, etc. Maybe it is just that you have to magnify the image and slowly edit the details? I am probably way too impatient for that.

Well, for starters, I rarely use any automated outlining techniques when cutting an image for editing these days...such as the Magic Wand tool. I always use the Polygonal Lasso.

You're on the right track with the zoom issue. I also zoom in quite a bit with the image when cutting. This is particularly important when you have a MOC where the borders of your creation have complex shapes (grass blades, trees, etc. are a perfect example). By zooming in, you can control where you cut all the way down to a single pixel. It IS more time consuming, but not THAT much more, and well worth the effort in many circumstances. And as far as I know, it's the only way to carefully control what gets cut and what doesn't.

You do have another option, and that is to do a quicker and sloppier cut. Then once the cut image is pasted elsewhere, you can zoom in and use the Eraser tool to trim off any excess.

Thanks Mark, that does help as it let's me know that there is not a "Magic" ttol that quickly does it. I was using the magic wand, and a background tool I found by accident. I will try the lasso as that one I have not used. Muchas Gracias Amigo!

I didn't have a lot of time to check it out today, but at a glance it seems like a pretty decent location for people who want to try to improve their presentations. So I wouldn't say off hand that the group itself needs a lot of "improving."

If you would like to see the group getting more attention (which is VERY difficult with literally THOUSANDS of groups out there), then I'd suggest...

1) ...posting "how-to's" on your own pages from time to time and link them to the group. This would function as a frequent reminder to others that the group is out there...basically like advertising.

2) Hold contests on a regular basis. Since the group deals with image quality, make the use of an application in presentation a criteria for any contest, with heavy emphasis on the winner's creation having the best presentation.

3) Keep going with it. Don't just abandon the group if it gets slow, or little traffic. And any opportunity you get, remind builders who might make use of it, that it's there.

My thoughts, anyway. Good luck.

Mark, I have a question! Like a real, valid, legitimate question! I know, right? ME!

Anyway, what exactly puts a MOC in the "Across MOCpages" Section? Or is it some super-secret guarded formula that Sean created with CIA analysts and that you are not at liberty to disclose? I only ask because I had a creation on there for the first time yesterday, it was numero uno and it made me feel somewhat significant, but then it vanished entirely. Like POP! Gone! Some other creations go up there for a week with fewer ratings and comments. Oh, wait, don't tell me, I know. The ACCIPITER was just too much badazz for the 'pages to handle. Yeah, I knew I should have taken that down a notch.

Close, but it's actually the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

In all seriousness, it's a little complicated. But the short version is it's based on the "popularity" of a moc. Comments, ratings and so on. Once a moc reaches the critera, it's eligible to be on "across mocpages."

And now a few more serious follow-ups...

1) There are a tremdous number of wonderful people here on our beloved virtual homeland, and despite the "bad apples," I hope that all of us can avoid allowing them to ruin our experiences here on MOCpages. I don't know Keith's situation, but I'm not going to let the rif-raf run me out of MY town! Yes, I had a bad experience with a builder yesterday who was rude and disrepectful, but it's certainly not going to keep me from enjoying the rest of my friends and aquaintences...hopefully when you guys encounter similar situations, you won't let it get to you either.

2) A heartfelt thanks to those who spoke so well of me in my "passing from the pages." Of course, now that Phipson talked me into participating in this joke, you'll be cursing me instead! ;-) But, I want you guys to know that, all joking aside, the good words are very sincerely appreciated.

That would be my first inclination as well, depending on the size of the damage you're wanting to achieve.

Hinge plates or hinge bricks will possibly serve that purpose. Scale will become a big issue, too. The smaller the car, the less room it will have to collapse. The larger, and more hollow you can make it, the greater the space for the parts to cave in on.

It's a unique concept, I'll give you that. I'm not sure if you're talking about just some indentations or a car that literally folds like a transformer, but I'll be curious to see what you come up with.

Oh, and I suppose you could always try just putting it in cold water. I know Phipson collapses in on himself whenever he goes swimming!

Also, no friends over unless Chris is here, lights out by 12:00, and I want to see those rooms clean by the time I get back or I'm crackin' skulls!

Drive safely! Don't pick up hitch-hikers that obviously look like escape convicts! (Or any other hitch-hikers, for that matter...) don't talk to strangers! And don't speed! We want you back in one piece. (No April fools jokes, turned real life, thank you!)

Yes, Sir. I'll help Chris reign in the mobsters. (Or try, anyway...)

What would make a good tennis racket for minifigs? Why tennis? Cause.... I made a tennis court and I need rackets.

Perhaps a frying pan?

Dag nabbit! Come on, I was gonna score with this chick I met at the root beer bar.

Although, it might be a good thing, cause this weird guy keeps following me and that girl. He wears a mask that looks like this, but vertical:

Don't forget, there have also been cases of: crossed eys, bed-head, crotch rot , happy feet, space-walking, midget tossing, jazz hands, and listening to Rush Limbaugh (which at that point, someone just shoot me!)

OK, what ever meds you're on, I don't want them

crotch rot

OK, that is something I wouldn't tell my wife.

Got access to a computer for a moment, so I thought I'd check in...

Not enough mind-numbingly innane, clone-kiddie-wanna-be type questions to Phipson...but other than that I'm glad to see everyone getting along without me. Have a good remainder of the week y'all and I' catch ya on Monday...

Now go think of something really pointless to say to Chris!

That's right...he's back! Hopefully all of you survived with Phipson handling everything (although I worried, knowing where those hands have been!)

Please now revert all inane and superflous questions back to yours truly and I'll be sure to respond with sacrasm and disrespect! ;-)

hey, could anyone help me find the joints used on this mech on bricklink: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/150186

I decided that my diorama was a bit bland so I need to make a small mech or hardsuit for the C.O.P troops, and this joint looks best, however I currently do not have this piece in my collection. please help!

Yeah, it's classified on BL as "brick, modified." Here's the page: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catID=135

Scroll down until you see it, and good luck with the hardsuit!

They'd flash before my eyes as well if the images hadn't burned out my retinas! Actually, it's more like a bad eye floater, I just see a brown carrot everywhere I look.
