I have just received official word from Sean. Postboxes are NOT allowed. If you'd like to have conversations with each other, please create a group.
If we find postboxes, we will delete them.
Also, if you continue to create postboxes after we've deleted them, your account will be subject to possible further action.
Thank you.

*translation for the feeble minded: 'further action' means bits of your site getting deleted and then maybe losing the whole thing and having to start over, depending on how stubborn you are. Permalink | March 24, 2010, 11:01 pm |

LOL, I sure hope the majority of the population understands it without hte translation... *sigh* unfortunately, I think your translation is required though... Permalink | March 24, 2010, 11:02 pm |

We'd appreciate it if anyone with a postbox-type page would be notified. They either need to delete it on their own, or eventually we will. It would make our jobs easier if you let them know, and they did it themselves.
Also, we keep track of recognized "offenses" to MOCpages rules, which now include postbox pages. Any that we delete go on record (mainly so we can quickly recognize repeat offenders) as an offense of sorts. I think many builders would prefer NOT to be placed on that list. ;-)
Thanks, Matthew! Permalink | March 25, 2010, 8:29 am |

I have been here for a while and do not know what a postbox is. Is it a weird term online, or is it an actual creation of a postbox? Permalink | March 25, 2010, 9:11 am |

The fuss about it is that a postbox is catigorized as a moc, which is a misnomer. Permalink | March 25, 2010, 9:26 am |

What about posts that contain no LEGO creations and make fun of the MOTD choice? Oh wait, I feel like we've been down this road recently....

See now, here's what I don't get about you...
You KNOW that the only people that can delete pages are 1: the person who created it and 2: The mocpages staff. Now, if your page was deleted, not by you, logic would dictate that mocpages staff deleted it FOR you.
If it was deleted by the staff, then logic further dictates that there was a good reason for said page being deleted.
Why would you post it again?

Then you are clearly not the sort of person who jumps on these trends. If you saw it and thought "hey, that's a great idea" then yeah, there would be something to worry about. Permalink | March 26, 2010, 12:32 am |

HAHAHA! That's funny! Or a telegram. Morse code. Even chiseled rock like The Flintstones.
Or a secret message written on the scalp of a loyal slave, and the intended recipient shaves off the slave's hair (again) so the message can be read.
Yes, they actually did that in ancient Roman times...
