You could. Remember that adding songs is a privilege that Sean allows us. It needs to be handled with care. As long as your song is appropriate, then your good.

Dylan said it best. Be sure the content of the song is approriate for mocpages then make your own informed decision based on that.

I posted this a few days ago in another group, but it might be appropriate here as well...

I suppose as a MOD here on the pages, I should warn everyone not to get too carried away with the music thing. I do it only for Apocalypsis, and there's a reason...

A while back, we started embedding tunes on LOTS of MOCs. But it wasn't long before someone starting using music that had a good deal of F-bombs and other banned language. Sean put the Kybosh on that pronto!

After that, embedding music was officially banned. Of course, through Youtube, we found a way around that little problem, and Sean has been gracious enough to let it be....

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

BUT!!!! If anyone starts posting music that contains troublesome content, we'll be looking at a complete ban before you can say "Sean's the boss." So, (sounding like an uncle that's letting the kids stay up past their bed time) I ask...no, I BEG...please use descretion with the music you select, and try not to overdo it! I'm in NO WAY suggesting someone here has done that or is planning to. I'm just putting this out to nip things in the bud BEFORE potential problems arise.

Now, with that said, good luck with the music you do choose to use, and Areetsa...thanks for that link!

Okay guys! Thanks! I was hoping to add it with an AC-130 that is in the build stages at the moment.

BTW, is it acceptable if the linked song has some "questionable material" in it, as long as I provide a warning about it near the link? Of course the song would be releavant to to the topic, not just obscenity for obscenity's sake.

For example, in my Abrams Tank MOC ( http://mocpages.com/moc.php/134574 ), in the course of a conversation in the comments section, I made the following comment:

"Critical Acclaim" by Avenged Sevenfold (A7X). * WARNING * The Youtube video that the following link goes to contains some strong language that may be unsuitable for younger audiences to listen to. If your parents/guardians have no problem with this, go ahead and watch the video - I just don't want to be the target of hate-mail and lynch mobs from concerned parents' groups. * YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - I ACCEPT NO LIABILITY * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54W7QvProIk Here are the lyrics for those of you who can't/won't watch the video: http://www.lyricstime.com/avenged-sevenfold-critical-acclaim-lyrics.html * NOTE TO THE MOCPAGES ADMINS * Please don't go all FCC on me and ban me from this awesome site for this post. I was merely referencing a song that I feel is very relevant to the discussion.

I was wondering if this was acceptable within the MOCpages rules.

If you would have asked me two weeks ago, I woulda' said you were fine. After the "Lee Jones Fallout of 2010" however, I'm going to ask as a personal favor that you not link to things with questionable content. At this point it isn't exactly "against" the rules, but we as moderators are in the process of defining the "line" which shall not be crossed. It would be a great help to us, and avoid a lot of issues for all involved, if you could just avoid doing that.

Thanks. I know you understand.
