You sing too? Any artistic area you don't dabble in?

My writing skills (technically speaking) are atrocious, and I couldn't play a musical instrument to save my life (here's where Phippy chimes in with a rusty trombone remark!)

But Yeah, I'm pretty big into the arts. My grandfather was a professional photographer, my grandmother a painter and pianist, and my Mom was a violinist and still teaches dance professionally...I get it honest!

Hey Mark, didn't you guys say that we shouldn't put those links where it'll do a bunch of pop ups? Well. Here's one that still has it. The link says: "CLICK HERE TO SEE MY FAVORITE BUILDERS." That's the link with all the popups. Now. Here's the user: http://mocpages.com/home.php/40566

Hmmm...think I'll leave a little message for him. I don't believe it's against the rules per say, but it still seems to be causing some problems. We'll try the nice approach first and see what happens here...

LOL well some of that stuff doesnt run in my family well mostly drawing, singing, and painting does. I dont know why tho but i get drawing and singing past on to me mostly draw instead of singing.

I don't really get the voice thing from the family, and I wouldn't say it ever came naturally. I took it up when I was young to help with my theater work, and stuck with it for years. I eventually became a competent theatrical vocalist, but I was never, and will never, be great at it by any means. I've done some lead roles locally, but that's about as far as it goes.

I honestly wanna be a newspaper comic artist when I grow up. 'Course, I think it will be internet-newspaper... I think it's plausible, if I keep on drawing. I'm getting better all the time... Da-da-da...

No one in my family is artistic, but I'm pretty good if I say so myself. (I can imagine you think I'm full of it and bragging and I actually have no skills :P) I ... TRY to play musical instruments.... But enough bragging!

But I'm having second thoughts about becoming an artist. Now tell me, do ALL artists look like you? *cough!* I mean uh...

To the point. I want to try and make 3-4 panel comic strips with LEGO peeps and a camera, not drawing... Any tips on what program to use (besides Photoshop) cuz GIMP has text I know; but where could I find speech bubbles? And how to make these comics?

I'm now imagining you singing opera. Why me?!

You want to be comic artist, too? Way cool! I'm working on becoming a graphic novelist, for my own Sci-Fi universe 'Volatile Ambience' and for different fantasy stories I write. Some day I'd love to dabble in the movie industry and make some feature films, but that's just a dream...

Ha, opera! That requires more than just carrying a tune with a bucket...which is about where I'm at comparitively!

That's awesome that you're pursuing the arts. It can be a tough road to follow, but also very rewarding. So anyway, about that program...

I'm only familiar with Photoshop, so I'm not much help there. HOWEVER, I believe Dennis Price uses something else for his comics, and they look terrific. He's very friendly, try asking Dennis with a comment in one of his posts to see if he'll give you a tip or two. Tell him I sent ya.

Whats your view on custom clones.
(If you can't tell there well to put it nicly not my thing.)

I'm cool with a lot of customization, personally. The only thing is, regardless of whether it's a part or a fig, it has to be useful in many ways (the way a regular Lego piece would be), and it has to LOOK like it's been done by Lego...none of this horrendous Sharpie work, or those sloppy paint jobs. Those look terrible. But if a fig is customized well, then I'm a fan.

Do you have any idea of which Star Wars sets carry more battle droids than clones? Because there was a battle droid battle pack back in what was it. '06? Anyway. Do you know any recent sets that are like that?

I know of a couple new ones:

The Droid Tri-Fighter has three (1 Rocket Droid Commander, and 2 Rocket Battle Droids), but those have the orange torsos and heads. It's got some NICE parts and is reasonably priced, though. And the new Rpublic Swamp Speeder includes two Battle Droids, and a Super Battle Droid.

Also, the 2009 sets with Battle Droids include the Armored Assault Tank (2 droids), the Hyena Droid Bomber (3 rocket battle droids), Droid Gunship (2 droids, 1 droid pilot) hailfire Droid and Spider Droid (4 droids) and the Separatist Spider Droid (1 droid, 1 droid commander, and one super battle droid).

Ah, I see. I don't personally have a problem seeing that sort of thing, and I've not gotten word from Sean that he considers it a problem, either. However...

My biggest concern is that a lot of additional elements have been added to builder's Home Pages as of late. (It seems builders are always trying to do the "one up" thing with each other when messing with their posts.) MOCpages is simultaneously experiencing a lot more functional problems. While I'm not very tech-savy, the likelihood that these numerous HTML coded additions are the culprit seems only logical. I'd really like to see all of us streamline things as much as possible, stick to the options for customizing that MOCpages offers (and I know it's not a lot), and focus on the creations themselves. It's probably not going to happen, but as Martin Luther King said..."I have a dream!"

Meanwhile, E.K.O. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't mind removing that element from your page, and any time you talk to others about it, pass along the word. Thanks!

I think it's FANTASTIC if done well, and done sparingly. The music should add to the MOC, though, and not overwhelm it. Some don't like the fact that it's invisible, though. I could see that if you're already listening to some tunes, or just don't like the music, and can't get rid of it easily.

Do you ever find time to check out all the mocs built to honor/mock/express feelings of deep and passionate love *ehem* (oops...) you?

Love is a rose but you'd better not pick it.

Love is like a river.

Love means never having to say you're sorry

All you need is love.

Love is all around.

Love stinks.

That's the story of love.

Etc.

I think the closest I'll get to fame is my building or drawing (cars etc.). Gut it's cool how we have something "in common": My dad IS a Pro photographer, and he takes all the pictures!

Maybe he's curled up in a fetal position in some white-walled, padded cell, drooling and muttering the names Phipson and Kelso!

At least it's not the HALO kiddies.

There is SD AND XD. Some olympus and fuji cameras take XD cards. Which are like half the size of an SD card. I know, because I used to have a fuji. :)

Probably too many! Making fun of "The Boys" is just too much fun.

And I know from experience that an XD card won't fit in a slot intended for an SD.

It's at times like this, that most people would be expecting me to make one of my trademarked "Phipsonian" comments...

Always leave them wanting more I say.
