You just need to click it 100 times. It does get annoying unless you do it fast. I put that on my page.

Yeah, I've been on a page that actually has a pop-up that says "virus detected. Begin computer swipe." just by visiting it at all. (I won't say who it is, for their sake.)

But it's important to remember it's also instant-kill on any open programs. So if you've got something important running, you'd better be careful with it.

EDIT: Yeah, tried it. Hold it down, listen to the clicks.
If you're using the latest Internet Explorer, it'll ask you, when the annoying thing runs out of objects, if you want to close all the tabs. Click 'No'.

Some other browsers with tabs might do that as well, I can't remember.

Problem solved in around 5 seconds.

You know, things like this seem to have a pattern: usually the people with the 'don't click here' also have lots of those annoying HTML widget/toy things on their pages.

Warning signs, I guess.

Maybe I won't maybe I will. It is up to me not you! Just because I want to trick some poor sap (not you or anyone else in this group, someone who just so happens to wander onto my page that knows nothing of me or that kind of link) into clicking on it doesn't make me a bad person. I think it spices up my page.

I got caught like that right after I joined Mocpages! Believe, me, I was really ticked. I said things no one should ever even think about saying. And, of course, I reported it to the help page. But, it's an asinine stunt to pull, in the first place. I got out of it by hitting ESC, I don't know how many times, and now the only thing I click on is the Moc comments and some group links to pages. I suggest that anyone who has one of those little stingers delete it. It's not funny and it's not an indication of cleverness at all. When you do that, it only shows how immature and thoughtless you are.

I agree with Robert. The thing that gets me though, is that the people that have those links on their pages aren't sitting there watching when someone clicks on the link... so where's the payoff? If you got some sort of payoff for the joke, I'd get it... but this is just... yeah.

That being said, I have some advice. Don't click on anything that doesn't link to something HERE on mocpages. If it's an outside link... don't click it. There's an easy way to find out. Scroll over it with your mouse and look in the bottom left corner of your screen. It will show the "destination" page if you click on the link. If it's not something you're familiar with, stay away.

Then there's the whole issue about things like what Dylan B. (I think it's him) has on his page where it says "Virus detected". Dylan, do me a personal favor please. Since we're actually having some problems with that right now, could you please remove it from your homepage? There's enough scares going around right now and it would be much appreciated.

Okay, wait, what trojan?

Little popups that say you have a virus?

Well, if they come from the taskbar, they're viruses themselves and it's time for a scan. If they come from the web-page itself, they're fake, and if they suddenly pop up and look nothing like your antivirus you've probably got adware.

Aye, I got one of those. Now I have to use my parent's computer (and I feel like taking a sledgehammer to my old one.) If you get one called "Eco Antivirus", Its time to get a new computer. Because the computer that has it will freeze and crash.

Because it makes them curious.
They wonder what it is about it that means they shouldn't click there, and they click just to find out what it is.

It's an insidious abuse of the human thought process. If it was called something like 'here's my big brother's facebook' no one would click on it.
