So what did YOU get that was cool?

While we all try to remind ourselves that Christmas is so much more than just the gift giving (and that was DEFINITELY the case for me this year with some fantastic family events!), there's no denying it's fun to talk about the preverbial "haul" that so many of us are fortunate enough to experience each year.

With that in mind, I say "let's hear it!" What did you guys get this year that was cool?
(And it goes without saying that I'm particularly interested in hearing about your Lego swag!)

Oh, and one serious note here before we begin...let's remind ourselves as we talk about all of the great gifts, that if we're talking about what we got for Christmas, we're some of the lucky ones. I travel a great deal, and see a lot of poverty, and a lot of people around the world that couldn't dream of the kind of wealth even the lower middle class affords in my county. Just saying that while we talk about gifts, let's keep in mind how fortunate we are!

Okay enough of my babble...SO, WHAT'CHA GET?!!!

Well, I got three LEGO sets and some money to buy more. Darth Vader's tie, Count Dooku's Solar Sailor, and the Midi-scale Millennium Falcon. I also got a T-shirt from the game Portal and a cell phone, but that is all beside the point.

Lego wise I got a green LEGO brand bin, with a green base plate within. Then the King's Battle Chariot set and a big box of my cousin's old LEGO and Megabloks... (He *JUST* found out that I still 'play' with LEGO... Heh!) After sorting out the two, I found some really neat treasures in the LEGO pile! I also got the LEGO StarWars Visual Dictionary, which is way cool. Plenty of other items also made it into my grasp, but because none of them are LEGO, perhaps I'll just leave those out of this... So, Mark, what did you make off with? Much loot for Mister Toot?

Well, my dad is out of a job right now so my haul wasn't as large as, well, all of yours. I got the castle drawbridge attack set and the architect sears tower (did you know the sears tower has 104 elevators???) from my family, and the clone battle pack (something that was far down on my list, only wanted it for the pistols, and the ARC gear), the atlantis crab thing (the smallest atlantis set), and some bionicle set I don't know the name of which I am going to the Lego store to return (because I am not really into bionicle, at all). That's it, five sets. I also got two megabloks halo sets from my brother (the figs are not half bad, and the weapons are actually pretty cool) because I LOVE Halo.

Seriously, megabloks! Just make Halo vehicles on LDD and bricklink the parts, get weapons from brickarms, and I don't know where, but you can get helmets too. Why bother with megabloks!

As far as lego goes, I didn't get all that much. Most of my haul was picked up on Black Friday. I did reveive a few wonderful gifts from some very close friends of mine. Thank you all so much, you really didn't have to do that. You guys (and you know who you are) are AWESOME!

Bless my wife's heart, she tried... no really, she did. She had overheard me talking about Lego disconinuing the pirate line so she got me a book/set called Lego Pirates Brickmaster... I know, I'd never heard of it either. It's basically a 140 brick set for making small pirate things. Like I said... she tried and I ain't complaining.

The main reason lego was so scarce this christmas is because I bought my wife a VW Passat. It was time to retire the Saturn. Those of you that road in it at Brickworld know what I'm talking about.

Oh, and non lego related, I did get a bluray player. No more stone age DVDs for Chris!

Ok... still got a couple more days left in my vacation... I'll be back on full force by the end of the week. See ya'll then! (yes... I said "ya'll".)

Your comment had to be moderated. One of the words you used triggered the moderation. It wasn't bad, but it's one of those things that we have to take a look at to make sure. I let it through. Just remember, if you don't see your comment right away, it most likely was sent to administration to be moderated. Just wait a day or so and keep checking back. If your comment doesn't show up within 24 hours or so, think about what you said in that comment. Maybe it was something that shouldn't have been said.

This time however, you were fine and the comment was let through. Scroll back up and check.

Hope that helps and welcome to MOCpages!
