Anyone able to give me advice on starship interiors?

Lighting is important, I'd think. I'm not a good interior builder, but when it comes to light, that's a very important mood setter. I remember a great MOC of an Alien-like ship setting, I can't find it, but the creator used light to make it all the more creepy. A bright hallway full of pipes and grates isn't that scary, but take away all the lights except some dim red ones, then you've got something that feels like a submarine/ship, and it quite creepy.

The BEST person to ask about interiors would be Daniel Jassim, but he's not around much these days. Your next option is Emperor Ludgonious... also not around as much as we'd like.

I'm going to jump around a bit and see if I can find some links for some really nice interiors to help you out. Anyone else who can link Erik to some nice starship interiors, link this boy up!

Thanks! Maybe I could use that in a stereotype alien comic! If it was in real life, creepier.

More advice: If you have tissue paper and a halogen lamp, that makes a decent improvisation for a colored lighting tool. I've used it before, the pictures are kind of blurry, but you can decide the result for yourself: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=114742&id=/user_images/8633/12406969233

Alrighty, as far as the building side of things goes, here's some stuff I was able to gather up quickly. Not all of these are "star ship" interiors, BUT pay close attention to the detail work of the interiors themselves. Hopefully you'll get some ideas on where to take your own builds from some of these.

I don't know if you're still looking for info, but this was one of the first things I found on MOCpages all those years ago... Jeff is a favorite builder of mine and one of those fellows who got me 'gung-ho' for sci-fi MOCs... This one is mainly the exterior: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/22706 And this one is mainly the interior: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/22708 I hope these help!

When building a starship from some movie(ex. venator from star wars) but it is wa smaller than minifig scale the interior should be minifig scale anyways. Heck, even lego does that.

Dan's work is AMAZING. He was one of my biggest influences when I first got involved with MOCpages. Can't go wrong with his interior works.
