Sorry. Nuclear war is not possible as long as different sides have a nuclear arsenal. Start worrying if only one side has'em.

Well then, looks like only advances will be made through stopping them, and not on the weapons themselves...

On a totally unrelated note, I've just come from a site called neoseeker and I'm going to have to have some of your barbecue, Heath. Pronto.

Awwww yes, I do get around. I actually write video game reviews for Neo in my spare time. And I love to tease everyone about my (BBQ) meat. "Succulent", "juicy", and "finger lickin' good" are just a few of the phrases I hear after a taste test. You just never know where I'll whip my meat out next.

Think of all the unintelligent things people say every day that you wish you didn’t have to hear.

Now think if you had each and every one of their unintelligent thoughts bombarding your head 24/7. This would likely drive a person beyond any stage of insanity that we have a diagnosis for.

Sounds like me everyday on mocpages...

I'm trying to keep em at about 100 comments or so, so that people don't have to scroll forever and read endlessly to get up to date on the conversation. You see... I have a very short attention span and I can't be bothered... oh look, CHEESE PUFFS!

Morning Chris,

I noticed that on some of your creations you are able to reply to multiple comments in one response of your own. I tried to do the same on one of mine so as not to clutter it up, and I can not seem to figure it out. So, how do you do it? Thanks.

Quoting Architect of Vonthako

Simple:

1) Right-click "reply" and open in a new tab.

2) Now type a reply as normal.

3) Click back to the conversation tab (leave your reply tab open).

4) Right-click "reply" on the other person's comment and open in another tab.

5) Now Copy-paste their comment over to your main reply tab. (feel free to close the extra tab)

6) Reply to the second comment

7) Click "continue"

Steps 3-6 can be repeated as many times as necessary.

Also, using the "reply formatting" (the "<", their name, and the colon-and-dash thing, and the other ">") it is possible to post a "reply" on another person's MOC.

Great, thanks, um...Chris? HAHA, Thanks AV

Morning Chris,
...So, how do you do it? Thanks.

Bet ya didn't know I changed my name to Architect did ya? HAHAHA

So anyway... yeah. You can do what Achitect said or a slightly different variation which I do.

1: Hit reply and type in your reply as normal.

2: Cut or copy (doesn't matter) the entire comment, including what you're replying to.

3: Hit the back button and return to the moc/conversation/whatever you just came from.

4: Paste the first comment in the reply box with the new one that you're about to reply to.

5: Repeat from step 2 as many times as needed.

There IS a max number of comments that the system will let you reply to. I think it's about 8 or so... depending on the length of text in your "comment."

Hope that helps!

~Chris.

I tried to figure that one out myself a few months back and I couldn't find a way. Moving creations from folder to folder and moving folders themselves around on your homepage is possible, but not creations within the actual folder... short answer, "nope, sorry."

Long answer, move them to a new folder for a bit and then put them back in reverse order to what you actually want should do the trick.

Head over to the "starship interior" thread. I've added a number of links to some GREAT interior work (not all of them have to do with star ships). I'm also putting together a list of castle interiors for one of the other threads and should have that posted within the half hour.

After studying these interiors, go to your work space and try to replicate a couple of them. Once you get the technique down and know how the pieces work, then make your own version of it.

The only way to get better at anything is to study... speaking of which, don't you have math homework you should be doing right now?

For those not invited, yeah, that's the main part.

To be honest, the only reason I even see myself worthy of having my own thread is because I created the group. I wish I had half the talent of people like Kelso, Jones, Ludgonious, Young, Goldman and so on.

The main criteria that I'm looking for that warrants giving someone their own thread breaks down like this.

1: Have a good deal of experience on MOCpages and be someone that people are used to listening to on whatever the topic may be.

2: Have a level head and not hold grudges or get worked up over petty things. For example, when Flare made his own thread, I simply deleted it and gave the preverbial slap on the wrist. Then I went to one of his groups and just said "hey, ask next time." No harm, no foul, just don't do it again kinda thing.

3: Actually be able to build. Now, not everyone HAS to be Kelso for this, but "clone on a plate" just is NOT going to cut it no matter how nice of a person you are.

4: And probably most importantly, hang out here for a bit giving sound advice and show me that you can handle your own thread. It's one thing to say you can do it, it's another to show it.

Oh, and despite what most of you guys may think... no, you don't have to be an afol to get a thread.

Hope that clears it up a bit. Any other questions?

Well, off topic of your post... But.

What's your favorite type of MOC to build? And why.
Also, I dunno if you would be the person to ask or not, because I don't recall you doing much of these, but how would you make a roof on a vignette of a building from the outside? I recently made two vignettes, both involving roofs, and I didn't like how they came out. Suggestions for that?

My favorite is Dios and story mocs. One of the main reasons I enjoy mocpages over flickr is the storytelling ability of mocpages. I like to help people escape to another world, if only for a few minutes and totally immerse themselves in the post. Over the past couple of months, I've been REALLY listening to the constructive critisism of people like Lee, Mark, the Sterlings, Price and so on. Being able to listen to what I was doing wrong has really improved my presentation and made this hobby even more fun for me than it was before.

Roofing is a tricky thing. Let's go with the basic slanted rooftop shall we? Your best bet here, rather than searching endlessly on mocpages for a well done one is to just check out the Creator set that Lego released recently. Long answer short here is slopes... lots and lots of slopes. And it's funny that you brought up the fact that I haven't done many of them... I've actually been toying around with some roof ideas for a house that I'm going to build for Dave and Stacy Sterling's layout at brickworld. We'll see how that turns out soon.

Hope that helps!

If you're talking about woodfield, they don't have that much in the way of slopes. My advice would be just to get the creator set. Not only will you get a good amount of slopes for your roof, you also get a bleepload of tan and some other cool pieces... like a SLIDING GLASS DOOR!

Just my opinion on that...

Ooohh... Sounds awesome. But I'll have to see what other sets I wanna blow my money on first... When I save up enough money for it, I wanna get the Medieval Market Village, cuz it's a great set, a great deal, and a whole load of cool pieces. It has the same type of roof tiles, I believe. Not as much though...

'Advanced' TFOLs still have less building ability than 'Regular' AFOLs, who pale in comparison to 'Advanced' AFOLs like Mark Neumann or Keith Goldman.

Who in turn are miniscule in comparison to DFOLs, but I don't think there are any of those yet.

Hence the ads and (possible) subscription fees to cover the cost. I'm not being ungrateful for what is available, but wouldn't mind paying a sub fee to keep the servers maintained and upgraded.

Forget about it. Personally, my internet connection is fast enough so mocpages (usually) doesn't take forever. I think it depends on how many people are on. During the evenings it can get fairly slow. Also, my ad/spam-blocker takes care of all those *BLEEP*-ing ads.

Without knowing (and DON'T put it here. If you don't want it out there, don't do it) your real name, there's really nothing "play on wordsy" that I can do here. Take me for example and maybe it'll help you find a starting point for yourself.

When I first started, I considered calling myself "Phlipside." See, nice little play on words there. If I ever decide to get a flickr account, that's the name I'm going to go with. Basically, anything that avoids the "commander wasstheface" is a good way to go. Find something outside of star wars, halo or anything else that's "hip" and go from there. Good luck.

At this point, there's no real way to delete an entire group. One thing you can do, is (and be sure to tell the people in the group that you are doing this to so they don't get worried) to "ban" all of the members of the group and delete all the threads (one comment... at... a... time.) Also, be sure to change the group settings to "invite only" so no one new can sign up (or ask to sign up). Then all that'll be left is you in an empty group... lonely true, but it works. This is a long and painfull process, but it's the best we have at this point.

Hope that helps. Good luck!
~Chris.

Young Fan of Lego, FOL in most of those acronyms are Fans of Lego, you'll see many of age related acronyms around like TFOL and AFOL.

I know what an "AFOL, TFOL, and YFOL" are. I asked him what he thought about them. do you know what I mean?

It's really quite simple. YFOLs are future TFOLs. TFOLs are future AFOLs. Basically, YFOLs are the future of this hobby. YFOLs should be encouraged to better themselves and their builds, which is what groups like this are designed to do.

Or were you looking for something more specific in your question?

If we can post pictures on our homepage why can't we post them in our comments? Or have I overlooked something?

I'm not sure I understand the question. If you could get me some examples of what you're talking about and be a little more specific, I'll do my best to answer.

Lets use Kelso's page as an example

I was just wondering how to post a picture in a comment, like on you're homepage ^. Assuming you are able.

Are you talking about linking to another creation? If that's the case, when you edit your homepage, there's a link on the top of the edit field that says "learn some simple HTML." It gives a simple tutorial on how to create links to any other page, provided you have the URL for it.

If that's not what you were talking about, please try to be more specific with your question. "putting pictures in your comments" makes it sound like you want to either have emoticons available in your text (which is something we've been thinking about) or you could be talking about the buddy icons... but you have one of those. I'm sorry, if I didn't answer your question yet, I'm just not understanding it.

(If anyone else knows what he's talking about, feel free to jump in here)

the above is the text that appears when you upload a photo. What I am asking is why it isn't a picture. If I were posting this on my homepage it would be one.So I'm wondering why it isn't. Is it that MOCpages just doesn't allow that or is it something I'm doing wrong.

You're doing nothing wrong, you're just not able to put HTML in your comments.

Try what Phaze said. I've never had to delete an entire group so I was just going off of what I know. Give it a shot and see what happens.
