COP As a Theme?
Join to comment
Hello, I have a question about COP as a theme. I literally just now joined the COP and i'm planning on starting to build. So, is the general theme of the COP:

1. A 99% Grey Colour Scheme
2. Non-Energy Weapons
3. Imperialistic/Space-Marine-ish designs
4. Mostly wheeled ground vehicles
5. Modern Building Techniques (No Extreme Futuristic/Sci-Fi)
6. Cyberpunk

Please tell me if any of these are not correct (or if they are) and/or general ideas to take into account when building.

I made a huge response, but MOCpages auto-sign out ate it. Unforgivable.

But welcome to the group.

1. It used to be this way. Bley/dark bley is our main color, yes. But we've also been moving into including highlight colors, which can be anything you want. The logic is that each system has it's own army, so anything goes. Example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thenotsogreat/6050159721/in/photostream

2. Yes. Plasma is about as advanced as it gets for everyone (except Zyyan). And it's not your Halo or Fallout plasma, this is the real-deal. Basically lightning in a straight beam; it makes the same noise and is visible for about as long.

3. More or less. It ranges from "Go back to the 1400s" to "Go back to WWI" in styles of looks. Warhammer 40K was, is, and always will be an inspiration.

4. Wheels or treads. If it looks like it could be used by Stalin's USSR, you're doing it right. If it looks like it could be used in Battlefield: 2142, you're doing it wrong.

5: See above.

6. Cyberpunk? No. Again, number 4 should answer this. If you want to know more, read up on the wiki: http://23rdcentury.wetpaint.com/

It's a mess, but at least it's a central location for most of our lore, tech, and everything else.

hey man, welcome to the group! Awe's sort of the expert on theme canon around here, so whatever he says goes.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
