Alright first things first. Who is going to Brickfair 2010? Max said he saw me there so it would indeed be opportune to see some of you there.

I'd love to be there, but I travel so much for work that it's almost impossible to plan anything more then 2 days out. On Wednesday I was asked to go to ShangHai and Hong Kong for 3 weeks. On Saturday I was on a plane. I was in Hong Kong 2 days before BrickFair 2009, and wasn't sure if I could make it back in time. I wrapped things up and flew 24 hours, slept 4 hours, then drove 8 hours to get there by late Friday night. I'll try my best to be there in 2010, but won't know for sure until shortly before. I manage international projects, and sometimes they are incredibly time-sensitive. Since I'm the only guy where I work that speaks Chinese, whenever anything there pops up, I'm the man for the job, and there is no backup for me.

I've been taking Chinese for a few years (after they finally let us switch from Spanish...) do you write in simplified or traditional?

I have to do both. When in Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong I use traditional (fan-ti-zi), but in mainland China I use simplified. I use a Chinese WP program called NJStar. It's free to DL, but after 100 uses, some of the dictionary functionality is removed. I should probably just pay the nominal fee and get the full version. Writing is hard, but pinyin will only take you so far. After you know 10 different words that are all spelled "shi", you really need to dig into characters.

Yeah, never ask a female zoo-keeper in China if she can show you where the panda bear is. Panda bear sounds the same as Chest Hair

I will be there and I will be in the Apacalego (I think, I hope I get to set up there.) I will be by my creations, just sitting there, you get it...

I think next year it is being held in a different place. I didn't really like how Apololego was apart from the main exhibition hall.
Having the vendors away was kind of nice though because it really freed up some space on public days.

When is the next Brickfair going to take place, because I've never been in one or ever participated in one, is there one in Georgia?
August 7th and 8th are the public days.

Yeah I am going to try to make it as well. I have soccer pre-season so I might not be able to.

Are you talking about vendors? Well for the participants the MOCs are sorted into categories, Castle, Pirate, Mindstorm, Apocolego and so on. So yes there is a table for everyone but it isn't like you get your own personal table.

Well fellas we're back from Brickfair and it was indeed a big success!!! Dulles Expo was very spacious and we sported enough room for 22000 visitors! Great to see some of you there in person to be sure. Look forward to next year.

Same here. I haven't been very active on MOCpages due to its recently fixed slowness, but that is going to change now.
