I don't really see how I can adhere to these times. I'm in year 11. My life is hectic and unstructured, and I neevr know when I'll have time to do anything recreationial like this.

I play on a lot of RP servers and games. On there, it doesn't matter what times you go on at, so long as you stay and play and have fun RPing with others.

I personally still think the chatroom website will work. It's pretty much the same (except slightly more basic) than the RP games I play normally, and I feel comfortable able to use them.

Compared to that, MOCpages' comment system... just, no. Ever tried to RP with the facebook or bebo comment system? It sucks, it's laggy, and it takes up way too much server memory.

So yeahh... Sorry to put a dampener on things, but that kinda needed to be said.

(I'm in 11th grade too! It is hectic. Especially with Trig and Deutsch!)

I see your point, but if we keep on switching, chaos will ensure. And we don't want that do we?

I have rules to suggest.

First rule: Any player that "uses" another players character will have their comment deleted and they will be put on twenty four hour suspension.

Rule two: Any character that shifts the balance of power to one side to greatly or that alters a preset technology level should be scrutinized by all players before the story affected can move on. ie: Jake's cyborg hynak greatly affects the preset level of Hynak technology, in turn affecting a carefully orchestrated war and plot.

Both rules came about after the way the Abyss introduced his character to the story without approval and without permission of the other players before using their characters.

I disagree with the first rule, but in the other one, I can see where you're coming from.
I often will have to "use" another person's character to further the plot - generally just to give short one word answers or nods. With John's permission, I'm also "using" his characters. Well, a couple of them. "using" a character is sometimes necessary - although I agree that doing something the characters owner would consider out of character is forbidden.
As for deleting comments, don't be too harsh on things Gideon. You seem a little eager to delete people's comments, and to ban people. You should watch yourself. Try and see what the others are trying to do (which by doing this you are doing very well).

Besides, a 24 hour ban isn't much of a punishment tbh - and mainly it would just annoy the other players. I myself will often have to be away from the BRC for more than 24 hours (though I try not to be). A better punishment might be to make it difficult for that person's characters. Deaden their RP a little... I can do that.

Jake is a natural writer, but like a good writer, it's difficult to keep your story adhering to strict rules. Rp games are not quite the same as novels. They are a bit more rigid, and structured. If you would like to write your own, rule free story, feel free to do so in The Bionicle Bard Hall. That's what it's for.

Shifting the balance of power with the Hynaks and the technology level confused me, but since it wasn't my plot I wasn't too annoyed - all I have is Mezzinus and he's just tagging along.

But anyway. Here's an alternative idea!

---

I think the plot masters of each story can be summed up as follows:

Tempesta Magna: Me (What can I say? I love this story! :D)

Veloco Nui: Jake (Tachyon is amazing)

Sampa Magna: Gideon (The Hynaks need to be explored more. I like the tribal side :) ))

Bara Magna: John (although his plot has taken the back burner while I'm controlling his characters, and I'm letting Gideon play his plot through instead, for now)

Vorox Trouble: Jibs (I admit I'm taking that one over a bit too much. I'll hold back.)

In all of these, each of us seems to be controlling the main gist of the plot. Let's keep it that way. Let's say each story "belongs" to a different one of us. That way we have an established master of each of them, and we also all have at least one where we're in charge.
Therefore in each of the different stories, each of us will decide on their own technology level, balance of power, leaders, plots etc... those who don't adhere to the rules of your particular story must be told where they're going wrong.

And as Admins, Jake and I will still make sure everything runs smoothly.

How does all that sound?

sounds good...but it might be a little constricting. adding to that i would like to say:

-
without the storymasters permision one can (if he/she has a well founded reason) start a big story arc or climactic/major event. even though a person may be in a position of power in that story, they are on an even playing feild (member wise)with others and should respect other`s decisions to further said story.

It sounds one hexx of allot better than what we had before. but on the character controlling one its not the simple head nods its the using another character as a rag doll that I don't like.

Yes. Storymasters should respect the other players in their story. Nobody wants someone to be a complete dictator over their play.

But if you want to radically change the story, the storymaster of that story SHOULD be asked first. If you e-mail them instead of using an ((OOC Message)), then you can discuss what would happen without exposing the plot to everyone else. John and I talk about characters, plots and events via e-mail all the time. The storymaster may wish to change their plot slightly, to fit with the other person's. That's what I'd do if someone wanted to change Tempesta Magna. :)

Yeah. That is pretty bad. If possible, use YOUR OWN characters as ragdolls. This is why Mezzinus and Telzira get knocked out so much...

i just thought of something though, useing what you`ve put up how could the balance of power shift to another chacter if "the leading one" is always in control?

Well first off, the storymaster shouldn't ALWAYS have their characters in absolute power. Taking more minor roles sometimes is a good idea, and another player wants to introduce a new aspect of the story, he (or she, possibly, in future) will then decide whether to go through with it, or which bits he wants to change before doing it. That should be discussed via e-mail if possible, since we don't have a PM system here on MOCpages yet.

You have made a bad assumption: Just because the storymaster is in control, his characters should not be. He controls the world, and any major plot turns - but his CHARACTERS do not (Even Ezru can't control Tempesta Magna). It would be perfectly normal to have the storymaster's characters to actually be on the losing side...
