This:
http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/297450
is an obvious swipe of this:
http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=6984-1

I've already confronted him about it, but I think it's best if you do the rest.

What he's done is poor form, and he should own up to the fact it's not a MOC, but it's not stolen (or 'swipied'): He's taken the images himself and it's LEGO's own design, not another MOCer's.

I'm not saying it's right, but annoyingly he's within the rules.

Ah, then it seems I was confused about what counts as "swiped" or not. Thanks for the help.

Hi Ape, just don't forget he's 11 years old. He has built something big, modified it and is proud of it. I would have been, too, when I was 11. He just has made the mistake not to mention the LEGO set he used as a base for his model.

All true, but - and this is just my opinion so is probably wrong! - if you're old enough to post things you've made on the internet you're old enough to be accountable for what you post. There are some great honest builders younger than 11 on this site. As above, nothing wrong with posting it but people can be very mean to people they consider cheaters, it's safer for him to put the set number and 'Mod' in the title somewhere.

I'm not so far away from your opinion. I think, it was a mistake by him and hope the next time he'll do better. I tried to post a comment like that, but the system hasn't posted it, yet. We'll see.
