New Harry Potter Sets

Saw this on Brickset:
I was pleased to see that most of the Harry Potter sets were on display and as I speculated The Burrows is indeed a very cool set. Ginny Weasley has a new hairpiece which is fabulous and makes her just like she does in the films. In fact there were a lot of new minifigs: somewhere around 20-25, including Dobby with a flesh head. However I am disappointed to report that Hogwarts Express does NOT use the new train wheels and looks just as bad as the last one which really is a shame.

I am glad to hear this as the Potter sets contain some excellent spooky elements. Hopefully they will do one of the final battle from the 7th book as there should be some good creatures in that set.

You guys haven't seen any pics of those HP sets yet have you. I looked around and found some of the SW sets that are coming out. Seemed like the same old blather to me and that wampa seems way too squat to me. I have hardly bought any SW sets this last 4 or 5 years. I bought some of the silver and black droid sets, but mostly for all the silver parts. Still haven't done anything with them.

Without seeing the new HP sets it's hard to guess what they are doing but I am betting that the sets will be limited to the first 4 books, which ties in with the video game. I could be wrong but it seems that I heard something about this somewhere. Memory is going and I don't bookmark enough pages.

No matter, I still am dancing a jig for new sets. And by jig I mean sitting in my chair and smiling to myself. I bet half the sets I ever bought were Harry Potter. There was a period about 2003-4 that the LEGO company was doing poorly and there were tons of sets on clearance. I bought a lot of HP sets on clearance. I bought over 20 of the Aragog in the dark forest set for 7 bucks each at the LEGO Imagination Center in the Mall of America. $20 set too. I have so many of those black tenacles that I'll proably never run out.

Here's a list of possible sets from Brickwiki.

4737 Quidditch Lesson (2nd version, 3rd if you count the Flying Lesson)
4738 Hagrid's Hut (3rd version)
4840 The Burrow (the one I am really curious about)
4841 Hogwarts Express (4th version)
4842 Hogwarts Castle (4th version)

see ya.

I'd love the Burrow. Then I'd like to see the Quidditch; they've made too many of the others.

All good points Garth. I have not seen the sets, just descriptions. I have not purchased many SW sets either because they were sub-standard. I wish I had some of the Jedi minifigs from the clone wars sets, but I can still obtain those. Here's to hoping for some decent HP sets.

I'm at Brickset, and I don't see any pictures. Where are they?

I will definitely have to get some HP sets, even though I'm not a big fan. It's the variety in the figs that I'm interested in. I think I've caught the Phipson/Kelso/Bones/Moffat/etc. Syndrome. I bought a droid set yesterday just for the three beamer guns.

You can never have too many tentacles...

"It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train – a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter."
