Conquest of seas....Take part!
 Group admin
Allright i think there is enough members to start the contest i spoke of- we are going to have nine pirate lords (admins) to this group- i hope you all are active and take part- we are going to start with solving the first lordship- are you ready? I would like to have you in this this contest- please reply if you are interested in- i'm explaining the rules later -if anyone even are active here- you guys have been quite quiet, but good that you have added your great pirate mocs -thanks for that but maybe more activity please....

Allright- i would like to have some more contestants though -but good that you replied- meaning that there would be at least two in my first contest areas of lords are bit different from potc so FIRST WE ARE GOING TO SOLVE THE LORDSHIP OF THE NORTHERN SEAS: THE NORTH SEA INCLUDING ENGLISH CHANNEL AND THE BALTIC SEA, THE MOC MUST BE PIRATE THEMED AND TAKE PLACE ON THE SELECTED AREA- IT CAN BE PORT, SHIP, HIDEOUT OR ANYTHING- BUT IT MUST TAKE PLACE ON (OR UNDERWATER) SELECTED SEA OR IT'S SHORES- SO YOU HAD TO DO MOC ABOUT PIRATES, PRIVATEERS OR SOLDIERS OF THE NORTHERN SEAS -IT CAN TAKE PLACE OF ANY TIME PERIOD BUT IT MUST HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WITH PIRATES AND PIRACY ON HIGH SEAS, SO FIRST YOU HAD TO DO MOC OF PIRATES ETC. OF BALTIC SEA AND NORTH SEA SO LET'S GET TO WORK (REMEMBER THAT VIKINGS WERE ALSO PIRATES -BUT THERE WERE LOTS OF OTHERS ON THOSE SEAS- FRENCH, ENGLISH,DUTCH,GERMAN, DANISH, SWEDISH, RUSSIAN.... YOU CAN ALSO INVENT YOUR OWN CHARACTERS AS WELL OF COURSE...) I'M GOING TO JUDGE THIS CONTEST ALONE BUT FUTURE CONTEST WILL BE JUDGED BY ALL PIRATE LORDS EQUALLY- WINNER OF THIS CONTEST WILL BE "PIRATE LORD OF THE NORTHERN SEAS" -ONE ADMIN CAN BE LORD OF ONLY ONE AREA -SO IF YOU WANT SOME OTHER SEA YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL CONQUEST OF THAT SEA STARTS- CONQUEST OF NORTHERN SEAS STARTS NOW: YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS (SO DEADLINE IS SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER) TO POST YOUR ENTRY TO THIS GROUP AND PUT LINK TO IT IN THIS TOPIC- IF NO ONE TAKES PART DURING FIRST TWO WEEKS NEXT CONQUEST BEGINS AND LORDSHIP OF THE SEA WHICH NO ONE WANTED- WILL BE SOLVED LATER- UNDERSTOOD- ASK IF PROBS- I POST GRADING SCALE LATER...

Don't forget the Polish they may not have been know but the Polish had their scurvy rascals in the baltic! I'll get building!

Oh sorry i just said examples- i'm finnish btw but finland was part of sweden in those days- still we weren't swedes- so i didn't mention them either- and norwegian (norway was Denmarks and later Sweden's -but Poland is independent old kingdom (wasn't it)with naval forces and pirates- i guess you are from Poland yourself- do some great stuff and checkout my newest moc ;)

Yup, all correct, and I wasn't saying it in a mad way, just giving info, if I get the position as the Pirate Lord of the Baltic Sea and English Canal, There Will Be Fear of the Polish flag, jokes!

Don't forget the North sea- it is tactical since it close to the capitals of British and Dutch empires - some important ports in that area are London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Dunkerque, Hamburg, Lübeck, Kiel Stockholm, Oslo Tallinn, Åbo (it's in Finland and "Turku" in finnish) Newly founded Saint Petersburg -and Gdansk was Polish main port yes?

I am here, just busy with work. I am planning what to build for this first Lordship. I must agree about the SW stuff, I was so dismayed that I deleted my SW creations and pulled out of all groups. As you know, I try to look at everyones creations, even SW, but I like to create other MOCs besides SW. What time is it in Finland? 9.15 pm? 21.15 is so much easier than am and pm.

As to the SW thing, I ran a test. I did a MOC of something that I actually worked on (Matterhorn) and a really quick SW that I did next to nothing on, just a couple walkers and some troops. Posted them at the same time, the SW Moc recieved way more views and comments and it was crap! So I decided the only SW stuff I will do in future will be humorous type ones. I do still enjoy looking at other people's creations though.

LOLZ not very friendly to call me forlorn (do that mean hopeless or what?) And area is Baltic and North sea did you meant Finnish? I didn't choose the area because of where i live (i don't live even near the sea anyway) i think it would be good to start from there because many seafaring nations are close to it also because it isn't very easy area well there were vikings and privateers....

Well if that port is near the North or Baltic sea (phoenicians were usually not...) It can be any ship sailing on that sea so maybe there are really lost phoenicians...LOLZ but they were masternavigators if history is right...

But thats where you're almost wrong my friend according to recent finds, Phoenician Wrecks have oddly been founded in the Baltic. According to Archaeologists (I can't call myself one but for now I'm a junior Archaeologist) a once great Baltic port was established by the Phoenicians almost large enough to beat Carthage.

Very interesting- i believe that you are right- sorry about my previous accusations i haven't very well acquainted with phoenician history- if that is so Phoenician port would do- but it must be that near the baltic or North sea- and yes Dutch, French and English do border the North sea- so they are usable too, but since those powers rule the whole world's oceans during the Golden age of piracy i prefer that you use something more exotic this time- Baltic and North sea were full of pirates during the middle ages first vikings then robberies who pillaged porttowns and looted the ships of the Hansa league- also you can do privateers like Dunkirkers were who operated from the Dunkirk (of course)

Allright mateys it is time to start new conquest- NEXT AREA WILL BE
MEDITERRANEAN (INCLUDING
ADRIATIC SEA AND GIBRALTAR-
AS FAR WEST AS MOROCCO-COAST
AND PORTUGAL BUT NO FURTHER)
MOC MUST TAKE PLACE ON
MEDITERRANEAN OR IT'S
SHORES BUT PIRATES CAN BE
FROM ANY COUTRY NO LIMITS

KIDNAPPING SLAVES
(ESCPECIALLY WOMEN)
AND OF COURSE STEALING
EVERYTHING.. ILLYRIAN
PIRATES KIDNAP CAESAR/
OTHER ROMAN -OR THEN ROMAN
PIRATE HUNTERS FACING SOME
PIRATEGALLEYS, MUSLIM CORSAIRS
(BARBARY PIRATES) LOOTING A
CHRISTIAN CITY/ SHIP OR MUSLIM
PIRATE TOWN- ALSO THE MALTESE
CORSAIRS PILLAGING MUSLIM
CITY/SHIP WOULD BE NICE-
MEDITERRANEAN PORT (GENOA/VENICE/NAPLES/BARCELONA
/GIBRALTAR/ALGER/TRIPOLI/
TUNIS/ALEXANDRIA/CONSTANTINOPLE)
OR PERHAPS CROATIAN PIRATES
OR BRITISH OR FRENCH OR SPANISH
PIRATES -OR THEN TURKISH OR SPANISH
PRISON WITH ALL SORTS OF NASTY
STUFF FOR TORTURING PRISONERS
AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE
GALLEYS TOO BUT LET'S SEE
WHAT YOU CAME UP WITH-
I WILL JUDGE THIS WITH
MR. BONES AND OF COURSE
THE DEADLINE- LET'S SAY WITHIN

And i got similar kind of comment for my Chinese port- i thought it was good idea to build those docks little messy looking with lots of random parts wood nailed that it holds and lots of stilts to keep docks intact but someone said that it looks just putting random parts there...It was meant to look like random stilts and planks nailed without greater architechture...

I watched the document about making the Singapore set for the pirates of the caribbean (and you know those malaysian/indonesian stilthouses- they look like they have been constructed of random wood but actually they are quite wellbuilt and practical- even if they may look like carelessly done) I just love that Potc set really cool...
