Apparatus on Order
Join to comment
Hi guys,

In response to Bob K.'s comment, I just started this topic as a branch off of the New Deliveries topic to talk about any and all fire apparatus on order. Hopefully this will help sort out things on the New Deliveries page. You can also put any updates to fire apparatus here as well.

Thanks guys. Enjoy!

Rumors are circulating about two new Pierce apparauts on order or being spec'd out for the Lego Twp Fire Depratment. Originally, it was thought to be an new engine for Engine 8. But the company denies that, as they do not wish to get rid of their engine. So, since they passed on a replacement, the latest chat appears that it will be a new aerial. If that is the case, its very hush-hush as to who is getting it and what type of aerial. Odds are that if it is a new aerial, the new aerial will go to Ladder Co. 3, since it is anong the oldest in the fleet. Expected delivery is within a few weeks. The other apparatus on order is rumored to be a rescue for Rescue 1. But that cannot be confirmed at this time.

There have been some developments at oak township, truck one (a 1992 e-one) was recently brought into the city shops and given all new "T1R" graphics, as well as fitted with extra air storage, and removal of some of it's equipment. That said, Station one recieved a large fedex envelope from Sutphen sales just yesterday, and township officials were seen discussing it with the chief.. A new set of hurst tools and a new, grant funded thermal camera arrived as well. Updates to come

Well I've never heard of anyone doing it in real life or in Legos, but I would never try it. Rotators are specialized pieces of equipment that require long, dual-or-tri-axle chassis to support their weight. Also they require stabilizers and a lot of working space to be able to rotate their recovery. If you want to give it a try I will gladly help with it, but I won't ever do it. Plus it would look really weird.

Well think of it this way...aerial platform apparatus are specialized pieces of equipment that require long chassis to support their weight, also stabilizers and space to rotate their ladder. Haha :D but I do see your point, although i think it would look cool...maybe just a little weird. I would bet with a couple good engineers a spartan chassis rotator could be worked out without a whole lot of trouble. and as for legos...maybe i'll give it a shot sometime.

True, but when you think about it, aerial apparatus aren't lifting the weight that rotators are. Plus commercial chassis are cooler. It's a fact. Lol kidding it depends. I would definitely like to see that at some point, maybe as an ERT unit...

It's going to be a Ford F350 chassis with a walk-in rescue-style body. It's going to carry EMS equipment and operate as a first-response medical unit before an ambulance can arrive. It will also work as an education unit, much like a fire-prevention education unit. Lately I've realized how important a unit like this is to a community, and if any department around my city had a unit like this, maybe I would still have some of my friends.

But I think the bigger thing, either than waiting, is the stickers. This is my first time ever doing them, and I want to make the just right.
