Hmm... I spent my childhood listening mostly to secular stuff, like U2, Billy Idol, Van Halen, Genesis, and Deff Lepard. Recently, though, I've aqquired a taste for Christian hard rock and metal bands, like Red, Skillet, August Burns Red, Fireflight, Thousand Foot Crutch, and Devil Wears Prada. I still like U2, though, and I've liked Coldplay ever since they came out with Rush of Blood to the Head.

While rap is a normally a little hard for my tastes, Lecrae is a fantastic Christian band that really reaches out to the city kids.

...and everyone else that likes rap. Yes, I think he's naturally a lot more talented than the average rapper, and has a very unusual gift for one... he can rhyme words that have nothing to do with adultery, drunkeness, or drug use. He's really refined the genre from audable sewage to pure gold.

This is only my opinion, but I think that Christian bands are all kinda really bad and stereotypical.

Some of them, yes. They're just sappy, cliched love songs where they've substituted Jesus for some girl... honorable, certainly, but not really enjoyable to listen to. Some of them are moderatley talented, but it's just so much sedatives when it comes to the lyrics. There are some bands that really break the stereotype though... Devil Wears Prada made an extended play entirely about a zombie apocalypse, for example.

Do any of you know about Hillsong? Its an Australian band which isn't half bad, and some of the songs are quite addictive.

This is only my opinion, but I think that Christian bands are all kinda really bad and stereotypical. And I hate rap. And pop.

And I kinda like alternative bands like My Chemical Romance.

For once I think I have to agree with you (on the Christian bands.)

Alright...try to stay with me here. The best are tobyMac, Skillet, Dc Talk, Lecrae, Third Day, Matthew West, Newsboys, Manic Drive, and TFK.

Currently I am "into" Soundtrack, like John Williams, Danny Elfman, etc.
The best band ever, is DC Talk!
