Semi Finals! The Final Four!
 Group admin
Alright everyone! Here we GO! You already know all the rules at this point so I won’t bore you with them.

Due Date: Your entry is due Sunday, November 1st by 11:59 pm EST.
Judges: Same as last round.

Semi Finals!
LET’S DO THIS!

Round 6 Categories

Dave Sterling VS Crimso Giger in -
Atari: Take an 80’s classic video game and bring it to bricky life! If I had a nickel for every quarter I plunked into those things… I’d still be poor cause I would still be 20 cents short on every one. But that doesn’t change the fact that the games of an AFOLs youth left a lasting impression on them. Think about it, Dig Dug, Centipede, Joust, Asteroids, Defender, Pac Man, Tron… the list goes on and on. Which was your favorite?

Steef de Prouw VS Kevin Fedde in -
Mosaic: Draw a pretty picture with lego. It doesn’t have to be a person’s face, it can be a car, a boat, a mountain, flowers, anything you can think of!

As always, I’ll be taking questions on this until Saturday.

GOOD LUCK!

ALSO! If you guys can send me your address and I'll forward them on to Keith. You are ALL going to get a prize here, just waiting to see who gets what place to determine those prizes. If you have my "real" email, you can send it to me there, if not, send it to mocolympics@gmail.com.

Atari, eh? I'll get building on my unofficial entry then... Yeah, I have way to much time on my hands.

Alright, time to start planning, I guess. I would have loved to do the Atari one. But hey, a mosaic? Now there's a challenge! I never even considered making one of those. Good luck to all the other players!

I'm rooting for you! ACtually, that's really wrong.. rooting does'nt mean 'supporting' in Australia, it means something a lot different, lol, but yeah, Personally, I think your best was the steampunk entry! I loved the tiles design, Mabye you could make a steampunk mosiac (e.g. its a picture of grandpa tom's inventions, who made the best steam powered machines around)

Heheh, thanks! I have no doubt that I will think of something though. I'll just spend these next days thinking, and the weekend building.

Yep, the thinking's what forms the moc, building is just excecuting your aim. So think whenever you can, I can't wait to see what you'll pull out the hat. No pressure ;) Just build something that relates to your passions. Please excuse me if I sound like someone too big for my boots. Good luck again!

Good luck to Steef, Kevin and Dave ! The Atari category is quite interesting, but I've got two questions:
1/ only Atari games, or anything running on an Atari, or any 80's video game ?
2/ could we make more than one game ?
Thanks :)

Sorry I haven't been able to vote the last round. I've been sick for five days. But by the looks of it there's been some pretty heavy competition. Let's see what the next round brings; on to the finals!

Sorry for the Shaddix confusion here, but you can make ANY video game from the 80's or early 90's. It doesn't HAVE to be from the Atari system or a subsidiary of it. ANY old time video game is good to go, home system or arcade version, doesn't matter. Nothing newer than let's say... 1995. Other than that, have at it!

(It's true that this was Dave's original idea for a category, but limiting it to Atari at this stage of the game was just too... limiting.)

Chris, I now have to throw the smack down here: The only 'limiting' thing here is your imagination!

http://atariage.com/

And of course your link is a blocked site from my work computer. But aside from that, all I mean here is let's not limit it to just titles under that banner or particular brand name.

Now then, time for me to go get a kleenex and wipe off my finger before I put on a band-aid after scraping it on one of my brand name building blocks...

Thanks for the answer. Now I can go on weekend with a bone for my brain - I go to Eurodisney, by the way ;-)

It's hard to tell if you're serious with that monkey face buddy icon, lol.
