Round 3 DOWN!
Group admin
IT'S a MIRACLE! Everyone posted this round! HAHAHA. Ok, So round three is in the can, just waiting on the judges to make their decisions. There's only one match in group 1 that still needs a winner (Brian! Get to it!) and the group 2 judges will be getting thier jobs done hopefully by the end of the day.

I'll be posting the matchups and categories for round 4 on Wednesday and, as usual, you'll have 10 days to build and post.

There IS going to be one little "surprise" in round 4 for the players so be ready!

Thank you EVERYONE in round 3! Win or lose, you ALL put forth one HECK of a good round! This was by FAR the hardest to judge so far and I know it's only going to get tougher as the rounds go on.

Good luck to those of you in round 4!

~Chris.
Good luck to everyone in round 4!

These "surprises" almost make me hope NOT to make it to round four.....

Okay, before I make this comment, I just want to say I hope I make it to round four. But in the case that I do, any chance we can push the round start day back to Thursday so the builders can have two full weekends to work on their MOCs? Thanks for the consideration.

I may have only gotten through two rounds, but this contest has opened my brain up to more building concepts than just Star Wars! See for yourself: http://www.mocpages.com/mocs.php?id=9589&sort=id&order=desc

Good luck to those who haven't been judged and who are bound for Round 4!

I don't see a major problem with that. Anyone else have any issue with having the due date as Sunday, Oct 4th?

I'll probably still post the matchups on Wednesday either way but I can go with an extra day since the competition is getting tougher.

Well, nice round all round. I'll be posting my unofficial entries just like I said. Ooh, the waiting.

Ouch!
I only just saw this, I haven't been home for a few days and was hoping to find the Match-ups for round 4 here now.
You see, I'm leaving for the USA for 2 weeks this upcoming friday (partly to attend BrickCon, but also to have a nice holiday away for 2 weeks with my wife).
Note that I'm in a different timezone, so won't be able to read the Match-ups until friday morning. I have to work all day on friday and head straight to the airport from work :(

Man this sucks, I'm on to round 4 and I won't be able to make anything.

How can we solve this? To be honest, if I had known sooner that it would be this tight for me, I would have dropped out of round 3 so my opponent there could have gone on to round 4 and actually participate: is this still possible? Or do you have a substitute of sorts? Or does 2x4 get an easy default victory?

Sorry about this :(

Ouch!...
Sorry about this :(

Well, we can try it this way. You ARE going to a Lego convention... See what you can do about "borrowing" some bricks and put something together. There's a LOT of AFOLs that will be there, some of which I'm sure you know who I'm also sure would be more than happy to bring an extra tub for you to pilfur through to make something. Just do your best and NO ONE (including me) will fault you for not having your best entry. School, family, soccor practice, these are NOT excuses for missing a round... but a LEGO convention, yeah, we'll let you slide on that.

Your OTHER option, should you choose to go this way, is to call in a substitute builder for yourself. If you want someone to compete FOR you for this round, you may name that person.

Those are the two options that I've got right now. Either way, let me know and we'll get this taken care of. If neither of those are viable options, I can think of worse people than 2x4 to get a free pass to round 5.

The choice is yours my friend.

Wow, what an ultimatum :D thanks for giving me this choice Chris.
I agree that school and soccer practice and what not aren't valid excuses: I work 12 hours a day and 7 days a week, and still managed to squeeze in an entry before every round's deadline.
This case is different in that I won't be home so will have no access to my LEGO collection.

I would really like to build something with other people's parts for the MocOlympics (since I'll be surrounded by AFOLs either way), but I know myself a bit too well for that, I always bring parts with me to cons so I can build when I have some spare time, but I never end up having spare time to build.

I also think 2x4 will have no trouble mowing down any opposition in his face, so I feel a default victory would do him no justice.

So I choose your third option, I would like a player who has already been eliminated to build in my stead. He has already shown his interest above: I would like Eggy to build in Round 4 for me :)
I will be back in time for Round 5 if Eggy manages to push 2x4 out of the game. If not, I'll be back in Round 5 to cheer on 2x4.
Eggy go get 'm for me! :D

Eggy to the rescue :D I accept your offer, can you build ESPN for me against 2x4? If you win I'll be back in Round 5 to take over from you again ;) good luck dude, and thanks a lot for the help!

It's settled. Eggy, kick 2x4's teeth in for Aliencat!

And 2x4... don't let some "substitute" beat you this far in! HAHAHA Good luck guys!
