what about the winter?
Okay, this is the first time I've ever been in the MO's, so i'm just wondering, will there be a Winter MocOlympics or is it just once a year?

I think the 'olympics should be popular enough to be on the homepage before we think of making more of them.

actually, the reason I found this group was because it was on the homepage.

I'm actually working out the details of a different competition for winter... possibly January time. That's if I get enough interest. We'll see what happens.

It's like MOCpages is getting it's own gameshow channel. And your host...Chris Phipson (for God's sake someone call for MAKEUP!)

Just my two cents... It is my hope that Chris Phipson and his cabal of old school Free Masons do not get burned out with all of these events he does. He just got done with the, uh, MOC Oscars; now the MocOlympics; and now the winter games? I guess the PanAmerican MOC Games would follow, then the World PAB Cup... Do not get me wrong, I have enjoyed the show from the bleachers (my own fault for sleeping with the daughter of one of the judges) and I would enjoy signing up with another series of games. But I also can see how this recent MocOlympics might have put Phipson and judges through a few ringers.

If it is of any help, I would offer my assistance. I had played with the idea of a contest for a set modification. The exact idea was to make a corellian designed ship utilizing the bridge pieces from the newly released minifig scale blockade runner. I had prizes and rules, but the timing was off. What does that have to do with anything? I am not sure. Maybe more heads than one are better. And if I say anymore it will be more than two cents worth.

It would be too tempting to offer up a rip-off of SNL's celebrity jeopardy. How that would work I have no idea but it would be heeelarious to have minifigs of us doing moronic things while trying to answer simple questions about Lego, and Chris takes the role of Alex Trebek... hhmmm, sounds like the MocOlympics actually.

Hmmm Sean Kenney should told Lego to replace the City sets by Phipson sets. Would be so more cool... and would sold very well amongst the MOCpages community - sorry that was my random comment of the day xD

LEGOmythbusters-with Phipson (Adam Savage, the crazy one ;) )and Sean Kenney (Jamie Hynmen, the slighlty sane one). They could test LEGOmyths, like, whcih LEGO peice, ecxluding baseplates, is the biggest? How many 2 x2's can you fit in a coke can? can LEGO be a murder weapon? Would be a great show!

MocComparison:Both members are shown a small photo, showing a small area and they both have to build that photo and whoever comes closest moves on.

Board Game:Make a classic boardgame out of lego, and make sure its playable. Games: Monopoly, Chess, etc.

Weapons:Make a lifesize weapon out of lego, guns swords knifes, etc.

Household Item:Items commonly found a house, kitchen bathroom etc.

well your ideas are really great! except for the weapons thing, most people (like me) aren't really allowed to see a weapon, let alone make one.

I say there should not be another MocOlympics or winter competition. I think a few too many people are centering all of there MOCpages lives around these competitions, and not spending enough time on just doing their own thing.

I'm not against these giant tournaments; in fact, I love them. It's just personally, I think it's good to let the MOCpages community have a little down time.

And of course, let's give Chris a little time to recharge his batteries. Literally... ;)
