Keep your eye on the prize!

Ladies and Gentlemen of the MocOlympics,

After some serious negotiations in which I have been forced to name my next child “Legomankeith Phipson” I, your glorious and gracious leader, have secured an ACTUAL prize for the winner of the MocOlympics!

Everyone give a big hand to the one and only Keith Goldman who has agreed to donate a prize for the winner! The winner may select one of the following three sets as their prize after they are crowned 2009 MocOlympics Grand Champion!

1. 7197 "Venice Canal Chase" (Indy)

or

2. 7686 "Helecopter Transport (City)

or

3. 6253 "Shipwreck Hideout" (Pirates)

There ya go kids, now you have something to REALLY fight for!

Thank you Kieth! Despite what Kescenovitz says, you’re a great guy in my book!

Free Legos??? DANG that gets my creative juices flowing! You have ignited a fire of determination in my... stomach? Wait, no, I'm hungry. But still, material gain in a contest makes for extra determination! AND COMPETITIVENESS!!

Step it your game!

Ok, Keith is OFFICALLY the MAN! Now, to help with that little "who is third and who is fourth" problem, I'm going to also donate a small prize to the fourth place winner. I don't know which one yet, but it will be comparable to Master Goldman's donation.

Like the man said... Time to step up your game people!

HA! That gave me the motivation to have a genuine idea to take down the mighty Ocean round two. ITS ON! And I bet that his "I dont have any ideas" is just a front for "I HAVE THE MIGHTIEST MINI CITY EVER!!! I WILL DESTROY YOU!" I won't buy it, Shannon Ocean. Heh... you should make a band some day... and get 7 other band members... and call it Ocean and the Seven Seas! That would be sweet.

Whooops... I just deleted Keith's comment that he updated. basically, until he gets the chance to repost it, he's adding even MORE prizes and it looks like the top 4 players will be getting prizes as well as one player of Keith's choosing!

I was reminded by someone that the Olympiad traditionally has three people on the medal podium. With that in mind i would like to add the following 2 prizes. Unlike the winner, the other two dudes don't get a choice.

Silver: 7639 "Camper" (City)

Bronze: 5970 "Freeze Ray Frenzy" (SP3)

Tin: 8956 "Stone Chopper!" (PM)

Yeah...I said tin. This is where I steal control of the action from Phiparino and award my own medal. This award will simply be for my favorite, non-medal winning MOC. Even losers can and probably will win this award...but if you try to get on the podium, Gold Silver and Bronze have the right to beat you down.

How Phipson determines Silver and bronze is his own headache and for the record has nothing to do with me, I remain your not so anonymous benefactor.

Step up your game!

Fixed it. thanks Keith!

Hey um, is it fair to the rest of us that you have a really unimaginative screen-name and a predisposition to whine? Do you really think a couple of prizes would have changed anything?

Look, prizes are rarely a motivation for people to enter contests, they are just icing on the cake.

I'm not sure what's wrong with some of you: you don't like the prizes, you don't think the prizes are fair, you think the prizes taint the competition. you think the prizes came too late. There is no crying in the MocOlympics!

Oh, and it is abundantly clear that all of you could buy these kits if you want to. I get it.

I ran in to a similar situation with my last contest. You try to give stuff away and people find a reason to complain.

(not all of you obviously, thanks for the appreciation, those of you who took the time.)

Rest assured my friend that there are at least 115 or so other people who genuinely thank you for your generous contribution.

I just read The Mouse and the Motorcycle a month ago and I must have read a different book than you. That Keith kid wasn't hideous at all. Pretty normal in fact. Speaking of facts, he was the kid who gave the mouse the motorcycle. Something from the goodness of his heart to a new friend.

I didn't join up for prizes, but they are some nice gravy on the side. Thanks for that motorcycle, Keith. I'll enjoy riding it if I win.

Is it too late to polish Keith's apples? I just want to say that is fantastic that for no apparent reason other than humanitarian concerns, Keith steps forward with some rather nice prizes. It makes this Lego community that much richer.
