Ok, there's a couple of things I need to address here...
1. "I don't have (X) piece, can I not be put in (X) category?"
Sorry, it doesn't work that way so please stop asking. The categories are selected randomly which means that I have no control over who will be competing in what. That's the ONLY fair way to do it so please just deal with it. You've got a 1 in 16 chance of getting the one category that you dread so I wish you the best of luck.
2. "Can we start on (Insert date here) because I'll be at Grandma's house (or where ever)?"
I haven't chosen the start date yet, but it's going to be about the second week in August. I'm sorry that I can't accomodate everyone's schedule perfectly but when you're dealing with this many people, to coordinate schedules is... to say the least... not easy. I cannot grant ANY special requests. If I do it for you (whoever you are) then I have to do it for EVERYONE and that's just not possible.
3. I got an email from someone (not saying who, but when you read this, you'll know who you are) that said "I'd like to enter the Mocolympics in (category name) please."
Please refer to the above statement... you don't get to choose what category you're playing in, it's RANDOM!
4. "How do I do "this" or "that?"
For the most part, I've pretty much answered every question I can think of. Please do me a HUGE favor and READ EVERYTHING before you ask a question... chances are, it's been asked and answered already. Help me out here please.
Now that I've been mean, I'm going to be nice for a minute.
I'd like to thank everyone for making this year's games so much better than last year. The turnout has been amazing! I've actually got more people signed up than I have spots for. I really can't thank you enough for making this as great as you have.
And as far as having too many players goes, I think I've come up with a solution and it goes a little something like this...
Assuming that we don't get the 128 players needed to make the extra bracket and we have to go back down to 64, here's what we can do to make it fair...
I'm thinking about having some preliminary matches for players to compete in to "earn" a spot in the games. How I will determine "who" will be based on a few factors. First, those who competed in last years games are in, no matter what. Second, "established builders" will be placed. From there, I'll be going by who signed up AND got me their emails first. Once I have (the numbers used here are just for example and are NOT the actual numbers that I will be using. I have to make the list first to find out how many are playing and how many will need to have a preliiminary match) 60 spots have been filled, the remaining players will then be informed who they are and that they will be competing for a spot in the games. The preliminary matches will be held in the same way that the games will be played in. This will also give people who don't know what's going on, to get a chance to see "how" things work. We will keep having prelim matches until we have whittled down the players to the last 4 and then those 4 will have proven themselves and will have earned their spots in the games. This is the only fair way that I can think of to do it.
This is all of course contingent on whether or not we get the needed 128 players or not.
Ok... I've got my 2 liter of Mountain Dew and a keyboard that I'm not afraid to throw against the wall... what else ya got? Permalink
1. How many people have you gotten to enter out of the 128?
2. What do you mean by established builder, what basicly qualifys one for that?
I've received 76 emails so far. This group has 121 members. Minus 5 for the judges and minus 1 at least for one person who joined the group but is not playing... that leaves 115 players signed up here and 39 that have not emailed me but are members of the group. We still need 13 players to sign up (and the rest of the group members to make it official) so that no cuts need be made. If you're worried if you're an "established builder" or not, (and it's not my decision BTW, it will be a joint decision by all the judges) then get out there and recruit more players so you won't have to find out. Protect the LEGO at all costs! Let me see if I can get Lee's army down there!
No thanks man, problem solved. The quick thinking Dylan B. made a pretty hot female lego alligator and those two are outside in the pool as of now. If only Phipson told us where the treasure was buried and none of this would have ever happened. Permalink

i know do you want to pick me up? my address is 5926 Fauntleroy way apt #4 west seattle WA
great, now I'm gonna have to google map that, and heather's gonna have to read me the directions while I'm driving, and I just know she's going to give me them too late, and that means I'm gonna miss a bunch of turns, which means shannon's going to wake up at least once, which means heather's going to have to go back there and gas him again, which means I'm not going to have someone reading me the directions, which means I'm gonna get lost. can't you just meet us there? or were you hoping on taking a sharpie to shannon's face while he's sleeping?
