Welcome to the 2009 MocOlympics page! Feel free to use this thread for what ever you would like to talk about. There will be a seperate thread for official sign ups. If anyone has any ideas for the main pic, let me know. Let's do this people!

I'm totally in for this! Isn't a bit early for the MocOlympics when you haven't even finished the Mocies yet?

I posted the MOCies yesterday and am in the process of building the "after party." As far as it being too early, there's a lot of planning that goes into this before any of the games can begin. I'm hoping to get at least double the amount of players I had last year and then I have to get everyone organized before the contest can begin.

For anyone not sure exactly how this works, take a look at last years Olympics here...

From there, you can navigate through most of the game.

Ugh, darn. I'm not in untill I know what the catogories are. Still using all of the bricks on MOC13, which you are in, by the way. Sending a BL order just to get your sigfig. Hehehe...

Just updated my sigfig last week actually. You'll see him at the MOCies after party. And I deleted this and moved it to the general convo thread because I'd like to keep the sign up one clear for sign ups only. As far as the categories go, NO ONE will know what the final list of categories are until the games begin... that's part of the fun! HAHAHA

I'm hoping to get everyone signed up and the games started by August sometime. There's a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into something like this, so thanks for the patience everyone. And each round will last about 10 days (not two weeks like last time, that took WAY too long) but you'll have 10 days to build and post one moc per round. Hope you decide to join in!

Hey chris,Is it all up to you about what we build here or do we vote?

Oh no my friend, this will all be my evil doing! MUHAHAHAHAHA... ahem, I'm open to suggestions for categories though. basically, you'll be placed in brackets and you and an opponent will face off in a predetermined category. What you choose to build for that category is up to you. For example, if you're competing in the mech category, you can build any kind of mech you'd like. See, easy peasy.

I'd be willing to help organize this and make the charts and stuff. soon as we get enough people, i'd be glad to help.

Hey Gus, moved your comment over here to keep the sign up thread "clean." Thanks for the offer, but if I need any help with that, it will be the judges. Can't have any contestants seeing who they'll be going against and in which categories they'll be playing in. Thanks though.

Oooh, this is gonna be so fun! It'll be my luck that I end up against an AFOL like Eggplant in the first bracket, though. Will you be in the competition, Chris? Or are you just the coordinator?

oh, true, I'd rather play. just everytime i start up some contest, we run low on judges so the contestants pitch in to help organize. This is pretty much THE MOCpages comeptetion so I suppose you won't have trouble finding people to judge. Thank you!

I'm in! MOCOLYMPICS HERE I COME!!!!! Is there an event with Phipson riding Brian?

that's AFTER the MocOlympics. whoever carries an AFOL across the finish line first gets the AFOL's weight in legos. I'm not sure if it's worth it or not though; that's a TON of legos, but I don't think Chris wears too much deodorant.

I'm not going to be in, Chris, for several reasons. I'm sure you can figure out one of them... I'll enlighten myself in that private place, once I get the time...

Hey Chris, I'd like to be a back-up again this year. Normally I'd say sign me up, but I have a massive project for BrickCon '09 and it's taking up everything I've got.
