I'm not gonna be too optimistic, I'm not that good,
you have to enter atleast 6 categories and be the best overall contestant to win the BSB
I think I'll focus on one category and try to win a smaller prize
I decided to build the interceptor (Pirates of the Caribbean)
I'm gonna have to destroy my WIP Triforce though, let's hope it will be worth it :)

I changed me mind, there's no way I can win the Tallship category with the Interceptor,
I'm going for the Flying Dutchman,
There's no turning back now, I took it from my permanent shelf and demolished half of it,
my new Flying Dutchman will be better, it has to be or I'll never forgive myself...

I know exactly what you mean,
with that you wont forgive yourself, if it isnt gets better then the previously one,
i also really want to chance my grim reaper, but i dont dare to take it apart, for if i suddenly dont have the parts or something like that, to do the chances i want, and then drops the project, i will properly not could remember the originaly design,
and then i would be pretty sad.
but just a note,
in the rule section there stands that, you cant take a old ship and then modify's it,
it has to be from scracth, after the 1/1 2011.
but you can hope that they wont fiend out =).
im currently building an imperial ship for this contest,
but i dont have the parts in the right coller and so on, and i spend alot of hours without getting far on it.
but i will still give it a shot =).
you could also use this contest to make the ship you always wanted to create,

I'm still not ready for the Black Pearl, besides, there's nothing left of my old flying dutchman, the good news is that the new one, under construction, is getting along nicely, it will be better, bigger and more detailed,
it has a max. width of 24 studs ! (so you can guess it's built on brick-built hulls)
btw, another entrant has posted a Flying dutchman already

Are you still building your imperial frigate? Or have you cancelled it? If not, I'm looking forward to seeing it, and what about your other pirate ship?

The Imperial frigate is still intact, I will finish it eventually,
my other ship has got some major modifications because I wanted to turn it into the interceptor, that kind a failed so I'll rebuilt that one as "La Triforce" again.
and I also have built a new small ship, just to get into shipbuilding again, that will be posted first
anyway, that makes 4 different WIPS (including the Dutchman)

well now i looked alittle bit arond at flickir
and i dont think theres any potential winners yet, no good ships or anything spetaculary,
but i will hope there will.
i will properly not have my ship done in time, but i will post it anyways when it is.
and for you sebeus, its good that your project is getting along nicely, goodluck with it =)
(and that flying ducth mend there is posted already in the contest isnt a match for you, your old FDM where 50 times better then he's).

indeed,
now only two 5-wide cars can, I has to place some small pilars in the deck to prevent the upper decks from falling down :P
it's still the same width, only less open

I'm working on way too many ships now,
the Flying Dutchman,
a Frigate,
a small pirate vessel,
I gave up on the Interceptor and will remodify it to La Triforce again
and last but not least I'm designing a new brick-built hull, a black one,
the Shadow V or the Black Pearl, depends on how well it works out

i got alot of mocs aswell i havent posted yet,
for i dont own a good camera,
but a friend of mine do but he's always bussy so really often the mocs i didnt post gets detroyed and converted to another moc.

but good to hear that you are so close to make a black pearl , at some point.

I'm not among the lucky ones but appearently it was a close call in the Pirate raft category.
I'm a bit sad my black pearl hasn't even been mentioned, maybe bold to say but I believe it had the most accurate shape and scale, maybe its lack of sails and rigging made the difference....
Oh well, better luck next time
