I'm not sure either but I'm inclined to let things in the spirit of Rodding stay, which your Dragster certainly is : ) Choppers, buggies and trucks would also fall into this catagory. All of the above wouldn't be able to go in the Elite section though

Elite: Sorry, it's much too small! You've already qualified as an Elite Member - but if you want to take your entries from '1' to '2' you'll need to make another medium or large scale Rod!

Hi VR. Yes, the quality of your car is high enough for you to become an Elite member. BUT... the back of it looks very modern (like from a 1980s car) - so it's not quite 'Rod' enough. Have a look at some real rods, and see if you can make a version 2 which is a bit more 1930s/40s, and then you're in! : )

There's a comment on the creation itself at the link above - now for the ROTM question, which a few people have asked:
Yes. It is.
But... ROTM is 'easier' to get than into the Elite Members' section (in which which you have the top 3+ rating) - however, I need to explain 'easier'...
ROTM is kinda there like the MOTD is on the MOCpages homepage, just to add interest and brighten it up.
ROTM gets picked based upon;
-how good a creation is (so quality does come into it)
-how original it is (in techniques that people may not have seen before, or in terms of a type of Rod we've not yet seen)
-how new a builder is to Rodding (if they're new they are more likely to get it) or if they've made a big improvement
-the time at which the creation is posted. E.g. A creation might get ROTM easily if the ROTM has been up there a while - but that same creation may not get selected if the ROTM has only been up a week, even if it's a 'better' MOC.
-finally, it gives people who build smaller rods the chance to get noticed (as they don't qualify for the Elite Members' area), but I try to vary it so you won't see a load of small scale rods in a row up there, as that would get boring.
So to maximize your chances;
-you'd have to look for when a ROTM has been up a while and post then (but of course you never know when it could get replaced so you could wait, go to post and discover a new ROTM was added yesterday - d'oh!)
-post a new type of rod or something with new techniques
-build a high quality creation
If I'm being honest, because the current ROTM has only been up a few days, it's unlikely your pick-up will get it, even though it's very worthy of the award - but of course if no new ROTM-worthy rods are added over the next few weeks, yours could well be the next one, as it is good enough.

Nope! for now the "Big" Rod (I mean my "Big Rod project") is stand by (waiting for pieces ; ) This futur Rat Rod will have the same size as my Nostalgia Rod! (it's, for me, medium size creations and these ones: Nostalgia Rod and this futur Rat Rod are 1wide more large than the other Medium scale Rod (Normal are 4wide, the Nostalgia and the Rat are 5wide! : ) ) Yeah, I realize I haven't yet a Medium scale Rat Rod! Welcome Chris!
You are very welcome here; your LDD Rod is brilliant.
The only part you can't participate in is the 'Elite Members' section, as the entry requirements are 1) Real Lego, no clone brands or other non-Lego, 2) Better than average MOCpages quality, and 3) Medium scale upwards.
These are in place to stop an influx of MOCs built solely to try and get on the group page.
ROTM though, is for all types of Rod, including digital, small scale etc.
Looking forward to your upcoming MOCs : )

I fear this moc might be the death of me though. I've been working on it now for 3 days just to get the front end right. So far I'm happy with it but I can't do the grille justice. It looks too much like the grilles on my other rods & I really want the elliptical 1930s Ford grille but the parts are just not available in LDD. After staring at the computer screen for 5 hours straight last night I wanted to stab my eyeballs!
So far I have a ladder chassis, twin carb small block Chevy V8, front end & rear fenders. I'm going to keep working on the grille but hope is fading.

Also, we're back down to 49 Elite Members has I noticed Senator Chinchilla was included twice, as one was under his old name 'R.H' (anyone remember that?!).
So No. 50 is still up for grabs...

All; We are by far and away the largest Group in the 'Large Scale Vehicles' category on MOCpages, in both members and uploads : )
The only area we're beaten in is 'Conversation' by The Classic Race Teams Group.

All; We are by far and away the largest Group in the 'Large Scale Vehicles' category on MOCpages, in both members and uploads : )
The only area we're beaten in is 'Conversation' by The Classic Race Teams Group.

Hey Ape,
I was wondering if my '31 Ford Model-A is good enough for a ROTM? If so, that would be awesome but don't worry if it's not good enough.

Oh yeh, easily. But ROTM doesn't always go to the 'best'. Currently yours stands the best chance of being the next one though (which would make you the first member *ever* to get two in a row!).
However, ROTM is about keeping the group interesting, so if someone else adds a good or innovative Rod soon they will more likely get the next ROTM over you (as I try to keep it going to new people), but if not yours could well be next : )
