Why I am not voting Phipson

I have nominated Heather Braaten, Mark Kelso, and Firas Abu-Jaber. What do I have against Phipson, you ask? Nothing per se, but here is my reasoning.

I am fine with Kelso OR Phipson, but not Kelso AND Phipson. (My nod goes to Kelso this time around based on seniority more than anything.) Not only do the two of them seemingly share one brain, they live in same region, the midwestern U.S. It's almost as if we're getting one ambassador for the price of two. It just seems to me that as MOCpages is a global community, our ambassadors should reflect that.

Heather gets the nod because she's a woman, and Lego desperately needs some more estrogen. Kelso because he's Kelso and we're all in love with him. Next year can be Phippy for the same reason. Or could have been this year had Kelso not been interested. That gives us two Americans. I will admit that I do not know for sure where Firas lives, but I don't think it's the U.S. (Watch me be wrong and feel really stupid. In which case I guess I would support Yuri Fassio; even though I disagree with his pro-Bionicle platform, he's got an awesome campaign photo: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/125826) Regardless, I don't think anyone can argue with Firas's "all around good guy" factor.

All that said, we probably will see Braaten, Kelso, and Phipson as the top three, and I know none of them are going to ignore anyone's concerns just because they live in another country. I will be happy to write testimonials for all three if and when they secure their nominations.

I only joined this group to state my (over)thinking on this matter, and will probably leave it fairly quickly.

First off, I would like to thank Shannon for his honesty and integrity in this. And yeah, Kelso and I were pretty much seperated at birth, even though he's about a decade older than me...

Shannon does make many good points here and I see the validity in most of them. That doesn't mean however that I'm not still going to run the best campaign I can and if chosen, do my best to be your LEGO ambassador.

Now get out there and VOTE PHIPSON!

No, no, no, no, no. You're supposed to accede to my faultless logic and gracefully bow out of the race, for the greater good. Curse you, Phipson! You're just another powerhungry politician!
