I hope by the means of this group to expand the Mysterion universe, and multiply the sightings. I think it will be a good thing most of all for recent builders, because Mysterion MOCs can't seem to be able to come out wrong, no matter your limits in skill, pieces, or inspiration :)

Thanks! That was rather helpful. I like this idea. But now I want to know what a VOAT is :)
Once upon a time, Uspez Morbo posted this:
http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/46200
The challenge of this is to build a MOC that uses no more than two colors (except trans colors) and incorporates a certain canopy design. It became a relatively popular theme over time. However, one day Uspez started thinking that it might not be easy for lots of people to build this canopy design because they might not have the necessary pieces or whatever. To help solve this problem, two more canopy designs were introduced that were different from the original VOAT design, but could be considered VOAT subthemes, I guess. Those two designs are known as VOADTs and Mysterions. This group is dedicated to the latter, but you can also find them at the group for VOATs, which is here:

Well, classic mysterion have black... stuff around. But if you check around, you'll see a great variety of shapes and colors, just try to keep the original "feeling" alive :) Permalink | May 17, 2009, 7:25 pm |

Greetings all over there! I'm christian and will addsome mysterions soon. Maybe next week.
I love the idea of this small fantasy universe. It's easy, mysterious and you can do many things about. One question: Where and when the mysterion universe is set? Because i read many protocolls about star systems etc. Is it a future world or can i use earth of today, or is it a mix of it? (Earth 09 but with space discovery) Permalink | May 25, 2009, 12:34 pm |

You can write reports so it's not clear how much in the future you are :) I always assume the sightings happen inside the UNE/COPverse, but I keep it vague... I'm working on a timeline rilght now, based on previous sightings. Keep an eye on the Encounter Report List :)

To expand the Mysterion universe, it could be fun and useful to create some kind of canon for the Mysterion universe, not? I don't mean telling an originstory, of course not, because it's the highest rule of Mysterions not to know about them. What i mean is a basic introduction or list with known main star systems, factions, who/where/when met or explore the Mysterions. That's surely difficult because Mysterion was developed for the VOAT thing, so there maybe is a background at some models, but a specific one would make the stories and report much more interesting and intensive. For example, you could connect some etc. Of course, it would have to be open, to expand and add new things. What do you think?
By the Way, i have an idea for my next Mysterion project, which won't be just a new Mysterion but is inspired by the whole theme. It will introduce some new stuff and expend the setting without explaining anything. You'll all allowed to use it for your own stories, also, but you haven't to. Hope to finish in June but i'll need some weeks to take the time for. Permalink | June 1, 2009, 7:34 pm |

The Mysterion came from space, but why they shouldn't use any landcrafts? I also created a submarine Mysterion. The only fact is their alien origin, the canopy and that they have hundreds of various objects. Anything new is welcome. Permalink | June 2, 2009, 9:46 am |

Mh, there's a mocpages group "photo editors" or something similiar, which can help. Easiest way to learn is experimenting. Basicly, i make photos on clear background, cut the background away with different tools or manual, the rest is work with the layers. Effects are very easy after some experience. You can find instructions on Youtube. Permalink | March 29, 2010, 7:28 pm |

Hey guys, in a future MOComic that I have in progress I'm having a mysterion CHARACTER. Yup. That's right. It's in an alternate reality from the UNEverse, so no plot-story conflicts. I even have a NAME for the mysterion soldier: Wyak, which is an abbreviation of the Hawaiian word for 'mystery'. Just lettin y'all know, tell me what you think please. Honestly i wouldn't do this last big jump. Mysterions are supposed to be complete different to our imagination of life or being. So, i wouldn't show any in my series, there some telepathic encounters where Mysterions are presented by other persons. Making pilots of the objects may offend the idea Shannon Ocean had when making them.
On the other hand, there's no size limits for canopies so an object like your Mysterion drone could appear and named by your characters. Depends on how he/it reacts in the series. But for me a Mysterion is not an individual with feelings, thoughs etc. as we know each other.
OR: Your Mysterion is a fake and later uncovered as something elso in your series to trick the crew. Permalink | September 16, 2010, 1:58 pm |

It was just a concept, so I never posted it on MOCpages. Up to this day, I'm still not sure I want to know what's inside the canopy :)

I once considered making an april fools joke with a fake "reveal" that it was a spongebob minifig, but I never bothered. Anyway, so I take it this theme is still going strong?
Also, I have noticed at least three early reports that implied the mysterions were collecting asteroids. Hmmm. Permalink | October 20, 2010, 10:01 pm |

If they're many more simpler ones, put them in one moc, Yuri and Shannon did so, too. The limit is made because a big amount of mocs posted early to each other loses more attention each because it's easier to overwatch one. Permalink | November 2, 2010, 8:20 pm |
