Tire Sizes?

I have no clue what the difference between the "14.00 R20 XL" tire of the M117 is compared to the "16.00 R20 XZL" of the HEMTT. Any help would be appreciated. (I would guess that R20 means radius of 20", but then the XZL and XL must mean some differentiation)
