Hey guys, just thought we might want to start up a contest or two so I decided to make a topic in which anyone can post ideas for contests, then if anyone else thinks thats a cool idea we can actually begin the contest.
Also, I don't know how anyone else feels but I've been wanting to do a moc-off for some time now, so any challenges to me could be posted here, just wait for me to respond before assuming it's game on.

Moc off eh? What is this Moc off concept you speak of? Who can build the best knockoff? Ha!
Contest eh? How do we go about making contests? From what I've read on MocPages tutorials we make a new group and link it to this group. Prizes? Ha. Wonder if prizes are tax deductable. Permalink | January 10, 2009, 9:01 pm |

actually I was thinking about having an in-group contest like um... for example... best hardsuit within a certain size limitation, and we would need at least three people to pull off a contest. Also, Pete (I assume you were being sarcastic but just in case...) a moc-off is like a duel between two people in which each participant makes a single moc based on pre-set conditions. so in this case it would most likely be some form of hardsuits. So what do you say? It would be my honor to go head-to-head with the great Pete Corp.

Oh. I really didn't know what a moc-off was. That sounds like a great idea. But if I were to participate, wouldn't there be a bias opinion from others? Shouldn't I be more of a judge? I think a nice way to format the moc-off would be the two challengers submit one photo to me and I will photoshop them side by side, A and B. Then we let the audience decide which unknown photo did the best for the criteria. Only after, do we review who won. Permalink | January 11, 2009, 3:26 am |

So the contest, would you need to create a new MOC just for the contest or would it be an old one? Permalink | January 11, 2009, 1:32 pm |

I'd say new moc. Permalink | January 11, 2009, 1:39 pm |

yeah traditionally it would be a new moc and I prefer that to just submitting old stuff. I think the point is to encourage people to post new stuff and to push themselves at the same time. also contests are officially judged by someone not involved but more often than not everyone participating will agree who wins, in other words you either loose or win by a landslide, there are hardly ever "photo finishes" moc-offs are judged differently based on who is participating.....

If any of you bought the new Clone Walker Battle Pack, that might be a good place to start a MOC battle. MOC-off as M.K. noted.

Goal: Make a hardsuit
Limit : Clone Walker Battle Pack
Just an example.

Any reason you can't find them? Just curious. I got mine from S@H. They were sold out in the Lego Store so they offered to ship it to me for free shipping. Permalink | January 15, 2009, 4:14 am |

no I know where to get them I just haven't gotten around to it. Maybe this weekend. anyway the clone walker alternate idea, would that be a contest (open for all) or a moc-off (one on one)?

Open for all sounds fun. I'm just asking because if they're hard to get maybe I should hoard some more. =P
