Excuse my interuption, but I believe this is not your universe, is it? I mean, they relate to each other, but I believe our universe is obviously different. The "split" is a simple explanation. GGWU was created so those that didn't like the UNEverse could have someplace to go.

Exactly Jibs! The GGWU is an alternative universe where the COP, UNE and NEOS are factions that wrote the history of galaxy till date. Its being developed mostly by Mysterion, Earth Alliance and MAOX presence.
From our backstory the UNE won against the COP because they rebelled and asked merc support from the MAOX. Meanwhile, the COP started to destroy itself from within, unleashing a brutal civil war that diminushed their territory greatly, giving the UNE their right opportunity! Defeated, the COP backed off and the UNE had again the possibility to prosper, but small systems started to want freedom of their own, creating various independent systems.
So thats it, and next time, remember that your universe for us is no more, but we appreciate the initiative, after all, it started has your project, we just "expanded" a bit and made it way more interesting and open to everyone.

Your universe is part in this episode:

Awesome-o-saurus made a crossover-answer too.

Maox is part of GGWU canon, now. which shows the 31st century of an alternated timeline, original COP and UNE are still in 23rd. And don't worry, COP isn't used here, it's just part of past history. About the map: It's still under construction and not official yet.

I've read the discussion there. At final, nobody charges about the timeline. It's just, you put Zordor where they have Tarsis and the broken COP in a space, which has never belong to them, what could look arrogant. That's all Awe said.
Basicly, he's right. If Maox fought COP they would have rest their last refuges in their main regions and Maox should be outside of the original COP regions. Just as sign of respect.

For me, i don't care. Space is 3d and it's unimportant from which side i am looking on a map.

Not sure whats correct but it shows the former cop border. As is said earlier, change left and right.

These are the reasons why i can't believe in sci-fi like Star Wars or COP where empires own whole galaxies and all these overpowered stuff. There's no challenge if people don't have to fight or alliance to survive. And it makes the UNE vs. COP story so unlogical, they aren't fair opponents and if there's one thing, a two-faction story needs, it's equal opponents. Oh i like smashing COP fleets in my stories if i can (like van Heinrich's 13th fleet by just one Mysterion ;))
Nevermind, now the years of empires are over, DA, Krill, Conspiracies etc. will bring a dark time of Great Galactic war.
