Any more rules to that? size restrictions? piece restrictions as mentioned above? photo quality? And the deadline that you're still working on.

Ok this went no where fast. I was looking forward to challenging myself architecturally. Can someone who knows how to set up a contest well and is on here frequently, re-make this contest?

Screw it, lets start this thing.

Theme: Bionicle Based Architecture.

Rules for Contestants

~1) It has to be a new creation not a previously built one.

~2) This is a Bionicle focused competition, but other forms of Lego is allowed to be used sparingly. If because Lego ’bricks’ are used in such a way it distracts from the Bionicle creation, you may not be favoured.

~3) Photoshop and parts modification is not allowed. We are looking at the skills of using Bionicle pieces and the imagination of builders to achieve the theme.

~4) White screens are suggested but not necessary. It’s the Moc we will be looking at not your photography skills, but it has to be clear enough to see the creation clearly.

~5) When you submit your entry you need to include these for it to be acceptable:
-A. When uploading your creation please have it titled with the name of the creation, followed by “Bio-Architecture Contest"
-B. In the Contest Entry thread http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=28&topicid=77389 , post a link to your submission.

~6) As long as it is following the theme, any form of creation is accepted. You’re encouraged to not just show off your building abilities but all of your creative imagination.

For the judges to equally understand their duties.

Judging will be based on three ideals: Concept, Design and Execution.

Concept outlines how well the contestant has approached the subject, whether what they envisioned (through text or reference picture) is represented in their creation. Out of 10pts.

Design follows through structure, form and function. Out of 10pts.

Execution is inclusive of overall presentation, attention to detail, various building techniques employed and the believability that it could be something that could exist in the real world. Out of 10pts.

Total out of 30.

I will give just over two weeks for this Contest starting from 23rd of January and all entries must be in no later than the 11th of February. Judging will commence over the weekend of the 12-13 of February.

The Judges are still as follows, unless otherwise changed:

S.T.S The Forgotten
Steve The Squid
Kai Heffernan
Raviel Ze MOCist
Chris Yee

Should any of the judges decide to drop out, others may volunteer to take their place.

If there are any questions, please direct them in this thread.

Let's try this out! So, we need to use Bionicle pieces to build something that is not able to move on its own or be driven? Like buildings, structures and statues?

Completely inorganic, however mechanisms may be included if functional (as in does something you'd normally see on a structure).

It's an architecture contest, so I'm not entirely sure if there are any actual example mocs out there. The premise is that you construct a type of stylised building using nothing but Bionicle pieces.

How did I miss this contest?! (Proly from the PokeMOC Leaugue, XD) Hmmm... next weekend... I may be able to squeeze in an entry for such a cool idea. Now... What to build...what to build...

So, would any date before March 2-4 is good for me. Maybe February 16 or 19th?

The contest hasn't even BEGAN! BTW I'm a judge.

Actually it started a week ago (or last month, depending on who you ask) I'll amend it and make it last 3 weeks so everyone has ample time to discover and create. Tell your friends!

Starting on the 23rd of January (Today) it will finish on the 11th of February and will be judged over the following weekend. Hopefully MOCPages doesn't break down while it's going. That would be awkward.

Yep, but you don't have to restrict yourself to living accommodations or public buildings. You could do radio towers, bridges and monuments as well.

Haha, I should be able to judge still. When does the contest end?

Next Friday. Judging will be over the weekend.

Chatter about it has been very quiet though, so either there hasn't been enough interest generated, or the entrants are quite focused on their projects they have had little time to converse. Probably a bit of both.

Well, completely forgot about this....
would of entered if it wasn't for a hard disk failure a little while ago.
Stupid hard disk failure, just has to go and Delete EVERYTHING off my nice laptop.

Anyways...after a prolonged period of being away due to pc problems, work and other stuff...
I missed the contest, pretty much.

To be honest, I don't think anyone entered any entries as well, today was the last day :(

Might have another one up shortly, but as things go, there isn't terribly a lot of activity nowadays. Everyone's going off to study, moving on and all that. Well see if there's still some call for another contest.
