Return to the Codrex!

Makuta, in the Mata Nui robot shell, has been dead for several years. Now many former residents are flooding the shell and searching for their loved ones and anything they may be able to salvage.

One group of Matoran has somehow made it to the Codrex. They come inside to sleep for the night. But one can't sleep and takes to exploring the corridors, and finds one remaining air vehicle that wasn't found by the Toa Mata years ago when they attempted to bring Mata Nui back to life. He fires it up. Build it, with aforementioned Matoran piloting it.

Guidelines: Your airship must be at least 25 cm long. Realism will not be taken into account, but I-WANT-ONE-ness will. Any questions?

will the aforementioned matoran, be of general matoran race, allowing other types of matoran, toa, turaga as the pilot, or just be, a matoran?

Also if the 2nd decision be taken, will this matoran, undergo, persay, a change, persay, like errrr... the phantoka, and mistika that used the vechiles?

One last question, can this vechile be, instead, persay, as like, a normal jet, be like a suit that provides the propulsion like a gundam, or mech?

1. When I said "Matoran" I meant Matoran, period. Just to see how well you can build a very small figure.

2.Be more specific with what you mean by "change". And remember that the Toa Nuva had adaptive armour and the Makuta are, well, shapeshifters. It should look like a fairly typical small figure.

3.No mechs/hardsuits really - I'm looking for something like the old Mistika vehicles.

I quite like the concept for this round. I'm not very well experinced in making vehicles, especially to that size or clasifying as an 'airship'.So I look forward to see how the two finalists will fair with this.

Yes. You have until next year to finish your entry.

Right, I made a mistake. Evidently the Friday in question will actually be the 8th. Sorry for any confusion. I have no idea how I came up with the 11th...

So it's Friday the 8th! Get building!

Yeah. Using custom limbs will be smiled upon. With Lego in general, more effort=more 'wow' factor.

Not to be silly, but April 11th 2012 is a Wednesday, so Friday April 11th won't occur until 2014.

You know, people shouldn't be allowed on MOCpages after they've gone out drinking. Leads to strange, facebook-like incidents :P

I wonder, what if for subsequent rounds, the time to build is shortened or even cut in half because the number of entries is cut in half? Could make for some intense, fast paced builds towards the end.

But with half the time, nobody could make a 25cm long airship. For more complex topics you need plenty of time.

Nah, not for this round, Just thinking about the next rounds, as this round is already in progress. But hell, anyone could make something regardless of complexity within a certain amount of time. It just takes a bit of organisation.

I've felt that two weeks seems to be to long. Personally I think nearly everyone could making a good build within a week, even if they worked on it a bit everyday.

Agreed since it is the final round. Some people may be looking for another shot at the 'championship'.

So if the other two judges are fine with this I see no reason not to vote.

How's this, as soon (if they do) the other judges agree to moving the voteing up, we shall vote.

Wait... What am I missing? I enter the bio build off a thon and nothing happens for a while. Then i find out that two random people are facing off. Fine by me. Then all of a sudden I notice that there's a conversation called finals, so I rush to see it. Cool contest, I'm eager to join. I look around, turns out again, it's between two random guys. So where do I (and everyone else) fit into this? I was so eager to be in a contest (I joined Mocpages in February I've been loving it, and I thought this was going to be my first contest.) What is going on here? I'm very confused.

By the way, I'm still going to build the vehicle regardless. I like the topic, I've actually never made one (why? hm.) and I want to show off my mad skillz.

1) I checked and saw you had created something for the entry round but you did not follow the guidelines and post in the topic, in effect stating you wanted to participate. That is why you were not included, we had no idea you had made something.

2) The two finalists facing off right now are the winners of the previous round. Those that applied to the contest properly where included in round one, and now the winners are facing off to see who the winner is.

All in all look over the guidelines closer, as well as how the rounds went and peoples entries where structured. Then look forward to the next contest =D

For the faceoff between Overlord Galaxus and Infrax.

I vote for Overlord Galaxus!
| April 4, 2011, 10:24 pm
Overlord Galaxus' entry was visually stunning, with a solid look on its side. It looked very streamlined and lightning-quick, but the Matoran driving it had awkward proportions and seemed out of step with the beauty of the rest of the model.

Infrax's entry had some of the best use of HF 2.0 parts that I've yet seen (the fold-in cockpit that enveloped the pilot was freakin' cool), but it looked ungainly and not at all aerodynamic as a whole.

But in my opinion, the overall best entry was Overlord Galaxus' Thrustum T11! My vote with Porcratus's makes a majority, so OVERLORD GALAXUS IS THE OFFICIAL WINNER OF THE 2011 BIONICLE DISPLAY BIO-BUILDOFFATHON! Congratulations!

So does O.G. get promoted to Moderator or what?
| April 4, 2011, 10:52 pm
I'm sorry, but I don't really wish to be promoted. I'm not that great to do any " moderative" tasks, so I would prefer to stay as an ordinary member. Thanks.

Congrats Galaxus!
On wining the (2 Rounds) Bio-BuildOff-Athon 1

That's something you can slap on your wall and be proud of.

Everyone did amazingly and I hope you'll all try for the next one.

The idea of winning was simply bragging rights. Also for a promotion, it would be a bit pointless since the contest is about building skill not management and moderation skills.

So yeah I figure leave the topic open.
