How did you start MOCing? (I have made multiples of this topic in the groups Makuta's Sons and Bionicle Mechanised)

I too got a Bohrok as my first bionicle, although I think I was younger than you. I then got a good bit of sets, most of which I've lost, before my uncle, who had first sparked my interest in LEGO by giving me my first set, gave me a gameboy. That was the beginning of my first darkage.
I got back into LEGO when an old friend came back to town, I was seven, almost eight when this happened, he renewed my interest in LEGO and then 4 years later I joined MOCpages and that's how I got here.
By the way, this is a really good idea, it's fun to hear everyone's stories.

Well, my dad was very into LEGO when he was a kid, so he had quite a bit of old Classic Space. I have been playing with mai laygoes since I was 'bout three. I was only three when the Star Wars line came out, but thankfully my dad stocked up. When I was five or six, he gave me the X-wing set, and I immediately started MOCing with it. I've been mucking around on MOCpages since...before the big update, but I just made an account in October last year. None of my friends are really into LEGO, but my very good friend Jillian is. She's on MOCpages too. So yeah, I know, you might want to commit Seppuku with the closest LEGO plate, but please, suppress the urge. It wasn't that boring.

The black and purple throw bot was my first Bionicle. I got him from my cousin when I was five. I've been mocking seance then so 10 years of bio mocing. Wish I had had a camera back then. My firs moc would have been my hover bike that I made right after I got the ultimate doom set. My first set that was actually labeled Bionicle was Onua Mata. I think i tried to make a dog with his pieces right off the bat.

So it all started in about '03. I got a black and a green rahkshi. I got bored and decided to combine the sets, and it continued from then on. I had several sets and even took pictures of a few(need to post those) but in the year 2006 I faded out. My dark age began. For 3 years the box o' bionicle sat dormant in a chest. Then in 2009 I found the box, and started building again. In june of that same year I started my MOCPages account, and my skills have taken up since then. SO yeah.....that's about all I can think of.

A former chat friend of mine suggested it as stress therapy. It works like a charm.
Later, my 2 little cousins came to my place with 2 bionicles: Carapar and Nocturn. I combined the 2 for them, and I loved Bionicle ever since.

I think it was August of 2008 when my then 11 year old son invited his friend to our house. His friend brought along his entire collection of bionicles. He then gave a few piece to my son which started his interest in bionicles. Soon he would ask me opinions on how to build better mocs. At first I knew nothing of bionicle and the story so my son updated me. Soon, I got him some newer and old sets and ordered him substantial parts from the net while he continued trading some parts. Soon he was asking me build mocs of certain themes and asked me to post my creations in mocpages. I guess now I consider it one of my many hobbies.

To clarify, at my age it may seem childish to some but I don't see bionicle as a mere toy but more of medium to do a sculpture. Unfortunately, I don't really have interest in the bionicle stories though. I do enjoy inventing something new(including the story) when I make something out of bionicle parts. Hopefully, my interest has helped and induced my kids and some mocers here to explore and improve their creativity skills as well with or without bionicles.

I've been building since I was three (16 years) without a single dark age. I've lived through throwbots and that motorcycle line they had, which I can't remember the name of. Then I began seeing the ads for bionicles. My firsts bionicle was onua ( the ads made it look like onua was the leader of the toa, not Tahu) I've been collecting them ever since. Just over one year ago I found mocpages and started showing off my stuff and since I've joined my mocs have improved drastically thanks to all the feedback from the great builders here on the pages. And there you have it! 16 years of Lego building broken down into a couple sentences :)

I got my first Bionicle, Turaga Onewa, when I was 8/9. Over the years, I got some more sets like Nui Jaga, the Bohrok, some Toa Nuva and Axonn. I built some MOC's during that time, but they weren't very good, and I didn't take pictures of any of them (except one Matoran). My interest in Bionicle (and in MOCing) grew when I got the Barraki for my birthday in 2008. I read you were able to build a Zyglak using pieces from Kalma, Takadox and Pridak. So I tried finding instructions on Google. I found them, and a MOC called The Zyglak King (which was on MOCpages). After looking at some more stuff there, I decided to join on November 20, 2008.

I was 5 or 6 when I got my first Bionicle set. It was the brown and blue vahki. I got a ton more vahki (Toys R Us never seemed to have any Toa Metru...)and then Nidiki. My good friend Toa Lesovikk would come over and take apart my Bionicles with me and rebuild them. OUR first moc was a wierd skimpy guy with no arms and the vahki geared chest for a head... There were dark ages when I was obssessed with KINGDOM HEARTS instead of Bionicle... But to this day I am still building Bionicle... ;)

Mine was either the scuba or ski throwbot, and I believe what I did with them was making them "Hold hands" (The fingers interlocked perfectly). After that I decided to try and use the connected arms as either a head or a waist, and it was so fun I've been MOCing ever since. :D

I've had a LOT of dark ages.

Well Ive always built stuff, weather it was outa legos or what, when I was little I used to make buildings out of mud, they were pretty legit too lol, miniature of cores lol, I dunno, each level was prob bout, like say 8 centimeters, maybe an inch from floor to ceiling, like they looked like real buildings, windows, stair cases, everything, then Id destroy them, legos tho, been buildn em sense I was like as tall as the lil chair Im sitn on, but it wasnt til I met this kid named Vick in Maine that I took up Bionicle, this kid was epic at buildn em things, Im surprised he aint on here, hes prob on some other site, what was dif bout him was, he used em gear things and hed make them like do all kindsa crazy things, it was awesome, cool guy, I got into em, back when I was a lil bum lol, my parents might buy me some, some times if I saved enough Id pick one up, each time I got one Id use em lil instruction manuals lol, each oen I got Id use those and Id build it, have never gotn a Bionicle that I didnt build before I took it a part, I think the first one I got wa either that blue bohrok, which is til my ultimate fav by the way, my first was either that one of one of em star wars things, I cannot stand star wrs by the way, it was just that the lego thing looks epic, I wouldnt really build anything on my own, but when I did they were terrible, the stuff I built was really nothing impressive at all lol, but to me I was stoked on that stuff, they were awesome lol, my buddy joel and I, hes the guy, volcano dude, hes admin of the Spanish trampoline too, well him and I, wed each sit down for like ever at this cottage he had off this lake, then, when we completed what we built, we would like have lil battles lmao, ha, ya and like, wed just bash each others bionicles till they were like falling a part, good times, The menace was the last creation built for that purpose, last creation I ever built with my good ol buddy Joel again, so I havent taken it apart ever sense, only one Ive never taken apart, but like, what led me to this site, that was jus weed and alcohol lol. This is a pretty weird place for me to be, but believe me its not the weirdest place weed and alcohol has led me to lol

I'm just the same.

Bionicle has always held my interest since it came out. I think it was the whole build-your-own-action figure concept that got me hooked. Now, I will build them to release the creativity locked in this cranium.

(Btw, my desk currently has 20+ MOCs that need to be posted.)
