Ok,i created this conversations because i would like to now how many sets most of the people in this group have.I am unplesead with the constant size limitations in the contests of this group. The justification for such thing is that most of you don't have enough sets/pieces to build such big things, therefore,i would like to now how many sets most of you have.I have 45 sets.

I don't count by the sets since my son trades parts. However, I think he has enough parts for me to make mocs of a particular color(except purple and gold).

As you know, the bigger the size of a creation allows for more creative artistic expression and possibly more awesome creation. I guess there have been a trend here of gigantic cool creations. Most of these creations tend to get more views and ratings. My top three mocs that I've made are gigantic creations.

However, carefully selecting parts to produce smaller wonderful creations can be effective as well.

Size limitation has its pros and cons. For one, not all members are used to making gigantic creations even if they have the parts to build such. Many stick to a small size up to titan size(around 13"). Reasons for doing so varies but I surmise its because build time if faster, its more articulated, less need of parts, cuter and more manageable in creating more while not destroying previous creations, less strain and damage on bionicle parts(especially connectors), etc. I think the point of setting a size limit in contest(except for a giant contest) is to allow more members to compete against more seasoned and great mocers which includes Berial, Yuri and me who can easily come up with cool gigantic creations if size was not factored in. Like in boxing, it wouldn't be fair for a featherweight to compete againts a heavyweight.
In my opinion a 12" to 15" size limit is just Ok as it is manageable to practically most mocers here who have around 10 or more sets.

Well said Harvey. Without size limitations, there would be no competition against consumed giant-makers.
As for me,it has been quite some time since my last giant, because I find more playability in smaller sizes (I pose my MOCs differently 2-3 times a day lol).
As for the sets, I'm too lazy to count, but it should be around 30-35, plus some spare Bricklink parts (and I just got my 4th Chirox).

Yes you may have only 30 to 35 but you get multiple parts of same sets and unique parts from bricklink as well as some system parts. This makes you a unique collector and unique builder as well. I count you and Jason Corlett as the only builders who can come up with equally great pure system, bionicle and hybrid builders here. That's versatility.

Well aside from the size limitations debate (I do agree with the limitations by the way), since the topic is 'How Many Sets Do You Have?', I have 117 sets.

Well! Thank you Harvey :) you've got me blushing! Hahaha!... Anywho! The last time I counted, I have 62 bionicle sets (not including all of my technic sets). I personally dispise the height restriction because it really limits what I can do, but I know it's necessary to let the little guys have a chance at winning against the veterans.

i have only 14-15 sets that are built but with all my extra pieces i probably could make another 15 or so, so I guess I have 30 or something sets bought with the extra pieces included

And that is why i dont like the size limitation, because it does not allow me to use my full potential. However,it seems that i'm outnumbered and most of you prefer the size limitation. Then,i suggest an increase in the size limitation.45 cm should be fine.

I have 45 whole sets, with MANY, MANY more wrecked. I'd say maybe at least 40 more Bionicles have been disassembled and have their remains scattered throughout my house.

I've lost count, but I've managed to pick up virtually every bionicle set made (The Manas still eludes me...)
I know I'm missing both Tahnoks, the tarakava, Manas, Kane-ra and muaka, Dume, Nuparu Inika, Toa Ignika, Skopio, Thornatus, Jetrax, Crotesius' bike, all the 2002 matoran, most playsets, Giant Mata-Nui, Gadunka and Hydraxon.

I've also got an NXT, piles of system I never use, myriad technic sets and a large bin of stuff that isn't Lego, but fits anyway (bits of pens, marbles for Spheroid heads, Mega-Bloks etc...) I've never ordered from Bricklink, but I have a large box of Motors I got from Lego.com too...
