NEW CONTEST SUGGESTIONS
 Group admin
As you know the last contest had only 2 entries and it will be ending. Also the moc olympics and the bio olympics will soon be ending as such hopefully more people would be able to join.

Hopefully the next contest should have more participants(at least 5 or more). As such, Im am going to make a survey and a suggestion box here for you to drop your suggested theme.

Please think first what's not a nice theme but also a theme where more people would be able to participate. If you can put 3 suggested themes the better.

I don't know yet what will be the criteria for choosing the theme. Maybe Yuri can choose or we will do it democratically. Let's see...

1. How about a contest for a creation that's a revamp of an older canon set?
2. What about a contest for a creation that transforms?
3. Maybe a contest for a creation that's a fusion of other sets, with no additional pieces added (i.e.: fusion of Mata Nui, Stronius and Gelu)?

1. What about a hard-to-build-with-Bionicle thing, like a computer or a guitar?
2. What about a model that looks like something or someone well-known, like Link from Zelda?
3. What about a fully-sized fully-functional weapon?
4. What about a set that uses 2 colours that clash, but clash well?
5. What about a model that looks like a real-world animal, like a gorilla?
6. What about a model that you can wear, like a mask?
7. What a model that's a character not seen in the comics, but mentioned?

http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=4597&topicid=30387 is a contest in the Group of Theme Music I devised a while ago. So far only John the Imaginative and myself have entered... and tbh I'm not too sure what to make. I'd love it if you guys took a look :)

May I suggest:

A. A contest to make an ArcheoGenis MOC?
B. A contest based on the Glatorian Life Counter as the basis of a MOC.
C. To make a bionicle plant/vegetable.
D. an NXT contest
E. A contest to make a MOC based on the appearance of a minifig (you get to design the minifig).

Actually, I'm just talking about being able to hold it in your hand and fire effectively. I'm not just talking about life-sized bows or anything specifically.

As a weapon contest has just ended, let us take a breather from making weapon(although, only 2 contestant entered)

I hope Yuri can give some ideas on the next contest.

For me I am open to the following:
1. Chibe (create the most cute bionicle moc)
2. Colorful Titan/toa (create a titan or toa with at least 4 colors)
3. I want to ride( create a bionicle rider and his vehicle/transport rahi)
4. Pimp up my moc( make a bionicle moc and combine it with anything that's not lego. It should still however be at least 70% bionicle)

I'd go for them all, but for #2, do you mean all the colours in the set (including black ball joints), or main colours, like red, blue, orange, etc.?

O_o Or you could fuse idea 1 and 2, and have a contest to make a chibi version of an official vehicle.

I think the concept of a multicolored set is to challenge a mocer to build something colorful and still get away with it. As you know, making a moc with so many colors and still make it cool is quite difficult. This has never been attempted in any contest yet. It should be main colors(of at least three contrasting colors) and does not include for example a red pin as a color nor should include colors that are not visible. Also, light gray, dark gray, and other gray, silver counts only as one color. Orange, Yellow and Red counts as separate color. Different shades of yellow(light yellow, bright yellow, chrome yellow, tan) should count only as one. Green, dark green and lime green count as one. Mata Red and, transparent red, Dark Red count as one while all shades of blue count including transparent blue as one. Black and white are separate colors.

Judging criteria may include 1. build 2. Originality 3. Color coordination and presentation

I think any chibi creation of any size(vehicle, rahi, toa, titan) as long as it is cute. You can even incorporate some real lego sets or lego background or make a cute story. Everything is possible as long as it can be easily judged as cute.

While some of you may think chibi is quite easy, it is not for most of us who make mocs who are "awesome and cool". This chibi contest is quite hard as bionicles were not really designed to be cute. I have not attempted it myself.

Here are some perfect examples of "CUTE/CHIBI" CREATIONS:

http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/2975

Like before in bionicle flagship display, we can also have a triple contest at once if you guys agree. However, I would suggest this time that we relax the rules a bit and allow contestant to choose if he wants to enter in one or two or three contest without being disqualified.

That's good. However, in that case I believe we should award onus points to those who enter in more than one...

You mean anyone creates an original theme of their own and post a sample? Isn't that just free for all build. That would be difficult to judge if we do not know what the theme is. Sometimes its harder to create something without a specific theme. Judging criteria may be different for one theme compared to another.

Hehe, I could do that, but I would have to stay out of the triathlon, I can't make that many things at once XD. Anyways, I think that the Best new theme would be very good for the BIO Commune as well, and it would definitely make some of those Toa of _____ Builders something else to build.

I've seen you post 5 creations at once before. I think you can handle it. Don't get intimidated(hehe) with other mocers like Yuri and me. Some of the themes I suggested does not favor my or Yuri's build style.

Are we still doing suggestions? (just wondering)

If we are, here are my suggestions

1. A contest on seeing who can make the best Elemental lords. (lego pieces, Technic/Bionicle
accepted)

2. A contest on seeing who can make The fanciest every day object.

3. A contest where whoever can create the most astonishing weapons in 5 days!

If we have all ready stopped suggestions, I am very sorry for this waste of space.

No we are still up for suggestions. Final suggestions will be taken up until wednesday.

So far, I have seen only in agreement a chibi contest and a possible triple contest again.

I am still open for 2 more suggestions... something original.

Like I have said, we will not be making for now any weapons contest as the recently concluded contest was a weapons contest.

For the contest, only accepted entries will be new ones starting from date of contest.

As this is another triple contest. We will give time for contestant to post their creations. So even if starts on a Wednesday, you can think of something for a few days and alot a breaktime to build it. Contest build time is around 21 days since its a 3 entry contest or a week for each entry. Plenty time for everyone.

Yuri, and Scott, our new administration if you have any inputs, please feel free to add your thoughts.

Btw, I also have no problems making a best original bionicle theme contest in lieu of three unrelated themes.

I would like to get ideas on what are the rules and how it will be judged and most importantly how many are willing to participate on Yuri's suggested contest to get the ball start rolling.

I beg to differ. How challenging the chibi is depends entirely on what you're making a chibi of. Chibi Kardas? I don't think so...

I do believe that chibi need not be small. It can be big as well depends on you. The criteria would be. "Is it cute enough?" It doesn't necessarily mean all matoran of 12 to 18 pcs would pass as chibi as well. Likewise, chibi rahi entry is also allowed. To tell you the truth, this category is very hard for me visualize compared to building 30 cm tough looking titans. I think I will be needing the help of my 9 y.o daughter to give me some ideas. hehe.

That was the point I was trying to get across! A chibi Kardas would be big in comparison to other chibis anyways, and would be incredibly hard to make cute. Then again, I guess different things are easy to some people. You're great at building HUGE titans, other people may be good at chibis. Anyways, lets stop arguing. Wouldn't want to start any unneccesary drama...
