Accidentally deleted MOC from group
If an owner of a group accidentally deleted a group member's MOC in their group, can the owner undo that?

No, you can't. All you can do is go to the person's homepage, find the moc and leave them a comment letting them know.

What if we forget what the MOC is called and/or who made it?

First, you get in touch with Dr. Brown. Then you ask nicely to borrow his Delorian. Get that puppy up to 88 MPH. Then the flux capacitor should kick in. Go back in time to just before you deleted the moc from the group and stop yourself from doing so. Then, once that disaster has been averted, go to next week, get the winning powerball numbers and come back here. Give me the winning numbers and then all will be forgiven.

Short of being able to do that... ummm... there's really nothing we can do. Sorry.

If the person wanted it in the group badly enough they will try again. Otherwise, accidents happen.

Of all the mod replies, that one takes the cake. Bravo Chris, bravo.

Or if the user is quick enough he could check the Google cache before it changes. No plutonium required.

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:www.mocpages.com/group_mocs.php?id=8246
(change the group number)

That gets you the first page. You'll need to fiddle with the address if the MOC is on a subsequent page. Depending on the date of Google's cache, and when the MOC was added, the missing MOC may or may not be in the current cache.

After thinking about this for a bit, I realized the paradox that would happen. If you went back and changed the past then there would be no reason to go to the past to change it in the first place so you wouldn't go back to change it... you see where this is going.

Here's a better suggestion. Follow the same basic steps but when you get there, sit outside the window and simply watch. When you see your past self deleting the moc, just commit to memory what the moc is, then come back here (after getting the powerball numbers of course) and THEN you can let the builder know.

Let us know how this works out and give my best to Doc Brown!

You are lying and you love the attention so you made up some Charlie person, how can someone take over your fire department?? We are adults here and you are just a child with no sense the admin would better banning you from here also unless they want to be annoyed all the time.

Okay guys. Grow up. There's no use arguing here, is there. Bickering gets you nowhere.
If there is a genuine issue then the lovely admins will help sort it out. If there isn't then, no harm done.

You know, there are times when having a delete button would be really nice. I'm an Administrator or Moderator in nearly all the groups I'm in. I'm so used to having the power to delete comments like the ones above, and now with your comment, it seems like there should be a merit system so that people like you can gain a power for situations like this. But then that would cause more issues and a lot more whining. Oh well.
