I was about to report this also. BEWARE THE MARQUEE ACTIVITY BAR! I uploaded an image if anyone would like to see. (If you're not experiencing the same problem that is.)

Problem solved.. Some Doofus put marquee in front of iBricks name. So it's making the Comments from that group slide..

It's because someone had the genius idea of changing the name of the IBrick group to include Marquee, something ALL the mods have specifically asked us NOT to do.

I've quit the group in protest.

As if we didn't have enough issues round here, without people deliberately creating problems.

I did change the name to i Block, and I've notified Mark Kelso of the Hack.. But I swear on the holy bible that I didn't screw your group up and put the Marquee in the title.

Isaac, that isn't helpful. Making unsupported accusations and flaming people is only going to get yourself put on notice. So please calm down.

As for why the editing facility no longer works. I'm sad to say, it's that marquee stuff. Once it is in there it is notoriously difficult to take out again.

If any of the mods or admins in the ibrick group have access to an iphone or tablet, they should be able to remove it, but on an ordinary pc or laptop you aren't going to be able to fix it.

I did change the groups name to i Block earlier, but that was solved. So else someone put the Marquee in the title, and it wasn't me. You can see why they are blaming me though. ...

Spock! Anyways, jet to report, I don't use marquees (I know how to program them, but you know) and I haven't seen anything. So. Lets take a breather.

I appreciate your position, but as the group moderator it's my job here to remain impartial. In that spirit I'm asking both of you to please, calm down.

I don't want to see anyone removed from the group because of a misunderstanding.

Alright, I'm sending an email to Sean regarding this topic. Let's sit tight until he responds. I mentioned to Freeling in a private email that Sean's probably busy with the loading and email issues, so it might take some time, just FYI.

It's a form of code, similar to HTML, that can be used to create animation in text on web pages. Some people have been using it in their user names to try and make them more "attractive". The problem is that it doesn't work with the way MOCpages is built and causes unexpected and sometimes annoying side effects, like yesterday it blanked out the information in the activity list.

It is also notoriously difficult to remove once added, as it disables the editing feature when using certain types of computers.

For this reason we were asked to not use Marquee at all.

There's also one that blinks, but I don't remember what it's called. I know it starts with the letter "D"

It's because we've seen what it does. <marquee> is found in the title of member's homepages when it is used. Then there was also all that craziness that went down here when people who used it couldn't edit their homepages.

Wow. I guess we take this hacking thing pretty seriously around here. The thing that's worrying is that if someone just goes around MOCpages and exploits glitches and does things like this and ruins the website for everybody.

Just a minor point, your kiddieness: you can't prove a negative
Prove it how, exactly? I mean, I don't exactly keep a log of all the groups I haven't hacked or people I haven't killed, and I doubt Freeling does either.

I have a list of people I wouldn't mind seeing killed, but that's another story entirely.

Those are called trolls. They have nothing better to do than to try to mess things up for other people.

They are also cowards who would never say or do anything to anyone's face. It's amazing how the internet gives people brass ones...

In any case, Sean is aware of the situation and we'll let you know as soon as we have an answer.

Thanks

This is a great message for everyone to chill out! Everyone is so impatient and complains about how we never gets updates. I guarantee someone with be all upset later today because we "never get updates for moderators" or some other reason because it's been more than 5 minutes since you were last heard from.

Ok. I'll tell you then xD Marquee is difficult to remove because the way people did it was incorrect. They did <marquee>*enter text here*<marquee> When in fact, since Marquee is a part of the HTML language, it should've been done as follows: <marquee>*enter text here*</marquee> It's most likely that. Either that or HTML just shouldn't be added in the title.

Journeyman, from what I was told they actually did do the "correct" HTML. It just doesn't work with the title, I guess.
