LDD creations getting MOTD
Join to comment
Since I joined this community 2,5 years ago I have only seen "real" creations getting MOTD. But has there ever been any digital creations receiving that honour?

I'm an avid fan of both building styles, and I know that the digital community isn't that large but it would be interesting if someone knows anything about this.

MOTD is selected at random from the most viewed, liked and discussed mocs of all time. In theory it could be ANY moc, though in general LDD creations tend to get less activity than actual brick creations.

To date (and I've been here about 4 years now) I've never seen an LDD MOTD, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been one or can never be one.

I could be wrong but I think Kevin Walter's bird of prey got MOTD once and it was LDD. I'm not 100% on that but I seem to remember it being MOTD once...

That aside, what Andros said is correct. MOTD is chosen at random after a number of factors have been met so typically, LDD creations just don't get the same traffic that regular mocs do. Doesn't mean it can't happen, just that it doesn't as often.

In case you missed it, this LDD model just got MOTD today.

And judging by the comments, not for the first time either...

Well, technically, that's not LDD. I believe it's MLCAD. LDD has more strict rules with respect to parts placement and looks different/better/less distorted and shadowy.
