I've only ever heard bad things from them. They remove you if you are innactive for too long, they always joke but in the cruedest ways, they ban you if you back talk or whatever. I've never been part of that group, but people always go to eXtreme TFOL's and complain when they have a problem.

If you have specific examples of rule breaking, and I mean MOCpages rule breaking, I suggest you provide evidence in order for Admins to take action.

Yep, what Andros said.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be possible to police every group, regardless of how many mods and admins MOCpages could access. However, if anyone can provide copied comments here as proof of rule breaking, we can then address the problem.

Thanks!

As founder and admin of the TFOLPC, I'd like to say that the accusations of "lack of kindness" and "crude joking" are exaggerated and not true. In the TFOLPC are all friends, we welcome new members to the community with warmth but cannot stand immature people who complain about every little thing. Since we are all friends then sometimes there might be some joking, but nothing is serious and we haven't had any serious fights between members since closer to the founding of the group.

We haven't broken any rules. Our own rules follow the MOCpages rules completely and have worked out very well for us. We do not appreciate people who break rules (for example Commander Vargus who started this thread) and do not hesitate to ban members who want to cause problems. Breaking rules = causing problems. As for banning if you talk back - thats an unfounded claim. The only time it happened was once, but the person who was banned was banned as a joke and was invited back to the group the next day. No one has ever been seriously banned for talking back.

As for removing inactive members - yes, we do that because we try to be an active community and there is no point staying in the group if you are not participating. Often times members who have become inactive and were removed decide to re-apply for membership and then become active members of the community! So the technique really works. Our goal isn't to have a huge group - its to have an active one.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you Flare.

As a side note, I've gone in to the TFOL group on a few occasions to look into accusations of bullying and things of that nature and have YET to find anything wrong.

Flare, the admin of the group, simply wants the dicussions to have focus and his group to be active. Until someone has a LEGITIMATE complaint about this group, I see no reason for Flare to not run it as he has been till this point.

Additionally, if you don't like how Flare runs HIS group then my advice is to simply not be a member. There are MANY other groups available or you can simply make your own if you wish and run it how you would like to (within MOCpages rules).

Thank you.
~Chris.

I too am an Admin of the TFOLPC, and I must say that these complaints are unfounded.

We only ban people who break rules or are inactive, I fail to see anything "mean" about that.

Well I've never been part of the group so I was just sharing what I have heard.

As a Member of the TFOLPC From my very fist days on the 'pages and near to its founding, I can say very little unpleasantness has ever happened.
We are a jokey kind of people who like serious and active conversations that are not interrupted by whining about petty things.

The inactivity deletion was only after the TFOLPC's revival and we wanted to start afresh.

Our jokes may not be to everyone's tastes, but no offensive or inappropriate comments are tolerated. Plus as Chris pointed out, there are other groups for people of other tastes.

People have never banned for for simply talking back, however as the person mentioned by Flare, I was banned as a joke, which I found fairly funny, and then invited back, something that has really helped me stay more active on MOCpages.

Our rules are fair ,and have been hammered into a efficient and equal system over the years, one that improves fan and conversation, and i'll take some time to point out that few of the active, regular members, have never had a problem with, and as we are a active group, that's a large majority.

Have a good day!

As a newer member of the TFOLPC,

When I was first accepted into the group (by one of the admins), I was met with nothing but warmth and kindness.

The main thing that made me feel at home was, when I convinced myself that Ru Corder was a girl. After sorting that out, Ru broke my embarrassment by saying "Dang, I'm wishing I had kept you thinking I was girl for a while... That could have been very interesting... ;)" Which I found to be pretty funny, and from that point forward I have felt like a part of the group.

I have never been insulted or seen insult in any of the members jokes.

I have also found that the rules are easy to follow and are fair.

God Bless and have a good day.

Do you think that we could lock this thread? It doesn't really serve a purpose.

I don't understand how anyone can complain that a group is being run professionally. For me, that is a positive thing.

What I think you mean is that the group enforces its rules too rigidly, which is actually more "officious" than "professional". But again, in a group being criticised for crude jokes I very much doubt even this allegation has any real merit.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to agree with most of the other AFOLs here - If you don't like how a group is run, find another group, or make your own.

MOCpages Help cannot, nor will it, become arbitrators for personality clashes. If members just don't get along, then ignore each other and don't join the same groups. It's that simple.

I was referring to the many novel long responses from group members. I think Flare covered it nicely with his.
