When i tried to upload photos (for Thanatos) it gets to the end and i click upload and it stays stuck on the One moment please page.I tried to do this multiple times but it's just the same.I also tried to reload the One Moment page and it comes up saying A problem with the size setting.I also changed the size but nothing worked. And it was only 20 pictures.

And also can you please disable the Auto Log-off because if i do a moc story page, i sometimes forget about the 30 min time limit and if i don't forget, it drives me mad having to keep clicking to preview and back again.I think most of us can log off by ourselves and i think a lot can agree with me about it

Hmmm, well I know there isn't currently an issue with the uploader as I've just used it 2 minutes ago, so I'm going to have to guess that the issue is either the pictures, your internet connection, a server issue, or your browser.

But let's test a few things first.

1. try uploading only ONE picture at a time, if the issue is too much info that might get round it.

2. try using the older uploader, this sometimes fixes incompatibility issues.

3. clear the cache file on your browser and log back into MOCpages and try again.

4. check that the pictures you are trying to upload are in the correct format.

5. if you can try using a different internet browser, some people have experienced a lot of issues lately on Google Chrome for some reason, but firefox and iexplore7 seem to be ok.

If non of this helps, and I'm not guaranteeing it will, you can find more info here: http://www.mocpages.com/help/add_photo2010.php

Do what everyone else does, write the text in MSWord or equivalent package and then cut and paste into MOCpages once you are ready to publish. This avoids the numerous spelling and grammar issues people posting directly into the website have and avoids the timing out thing.

Why on Earth are you posting FIFTY pictures? If you know that causes a time out just post 10 at a time. Sorry but you have answered your own question.

Um how do i say this. Most Bio-mocer use 50 for story pages,it just the minimum for a good story size.20 is for a basic showing off a moc.10 is just low.10 at a time just isn't fast enough.

And how do I say this tactfully - work with the limitations don't complain about them.

The issue here isn't that you can't tell a story in under 50 pictures, the issue is that you know posting 50 at once will cause a problem. So why continue to post 50 and complain, why not just post fewer pictures "at once"? Just because you are a bio-mocer is no explanation for anything IMO.

Some of my mocs have more than 50 pictures, but I had the "common sense" to post them in smaller batches.

Why can't you go back into a MOC and edit it to add more pictures as you go along? Sorry but this "Bio-mocer story teller" explanation is just, well, insufficient.

That's kinda subjective. As a Bionicle builder I would have to disagree; myself and several other people I know of have discussed a similar issue, and we've arrived at the conclusion that you don't really need anything nearly as high as fifty to get your point across...

This ain't a story sharing site, I can show off a new MOC with less than 20 pics easily. For story sharing, try DA, or Flickr. That might help.

Like I said above, telling a story isn't the problem. Insisting on posting the entire story at once when the servers aren't designed for it is.

Stories are welcome, but we need to be practical when creating mocs. Uploading dozens of images at once just isn't possible.

Maybe, that would certainly be a solution to the server timing out. If everyone was restricted to no more than say 20 at a time, then in theory this issue shouldn't happen.

But I'm still struggling to understand what is so difficult about posting 50 in smaller batches of 10? You can go in and add more images as often as you like. Pressing "edit" 5 times has got to be easier (and less stressful) than pressing it once knowing you are probably going to loose everything, or have to upload them all again later.

I agree, and also don't understand what the problem with batches of ten is.

Actually, adding 50 (or more) pics at once isn't the problem. The trick is to simply add them all (so that the HTML shows in the main body of the post) and then... and here's the important part...

COPY YOUR WORK!

All you have to do is highlight everything, right click, hit copy and BAM, you're safe. Then when you're ready to upload and it times out on you, you have your work saved. Easy peasy. I do this all the time, even when I'm loading 2 or 3 pics simply because I don't want to have to do it twice.

As for your pics not loading, it sounds like the size of the pics are too large. MOCpages only supports certain sized pics (and I'm sorry but I don't know the numbers off hand). Kelso has written a few times what the numbers are so maybe take a few minutes to click through this group to find where he has written the information (I know it's here so it'll only take a bit of time on your part).

Hope that helps clear up a few things for everyone.

Good luck!
~Chris.

I simply upload 8 w/ the simple uploader, 8 more, wash, rinse, repeat. I don't use too many pics. If I have a story to write, I just put it in text. Putting the Phipson method into effect, stories shouldn't be a problem.

Lots of people have reported issues with Chrome, it just doesn't seem to work very well here.

Firefox was working fine, with the new uploader, I haven't used the old uploader in several months.

If you still have issues, check to see if your java is up to date.

I've noticed over the last couple of days that the new uploader is behaving oddly. When you click the "click here to choose photos" option, it brings up the right screen, but will not actually import any images. It just says the first one failed and doesn't seem to action the rest.

BUT - if you open your pictures folder in another window and drag the thumbnails across, it seems to download them fine.

I suspect the issue is java related but wondered if anyone else was having issues? So far I've only tried using firefox, so I've no idea if this issue is affecting other browsers.

What are the advantages to the new up loader?

Haven't posted anything myself in a while (since early summer) so I haven't noticed.

I do know however that Firefox doesn't like MOCpages for whatever reason. I've found that a lot of issues people have are solved when they use IE instead of Firefox. Just an observation... might be worth a try just to see if the theory is correct.

1. the drag and drop option speeds things up
2. you can upload more pictures at once
3. LDD screen shots don't have a black background
4. it (normally) runs faster

That's interesting... I've had problems with Safari, for example, that have been fixed by using Firefox. Not to say I have no Firefox problems.
