last night i received two comments on two different MOCs from somebody, wasn't me, but both comments came up with my buddy icon beside them as if i put in the comment, but i didn't. Has this happened to anyone else last night, or prior. Is this a glitch or should I be concerned? cheers

chris Did they have your name next to them, or someone else's? There was a kid that made me think he was aabbee 150 because he copied the buddy icon and made it his. Someone may have just taken your buddy icon. Permalink | September 3, 2012, 10:49 am |

chris Also, another way to find out would be through the "your comments" link on your homepage. If they are there and not yours, then you would have been hacked, although that usually results in profanities and the deletion of uploads. Permalink | September 3, 2012, 10:51 am |

Interesting. So it is on your own MOC, and it said you made it, but it wasn't in your comments. Weird becasue even when you comment on your own creations, it shows up in there. Permalink | September 3, 2012, 11:03 am |

Were you using MOCpages on your computer, or a phone or other device? That has happened to me a couple of times where the photos of buddy icons got mixed up. But it was fine when I used a computer. So it might be a glitch on a mobile phone. Try clearing your history.

Same here. Whenever I'm on MOCpages on and iPod, it sometimes switches buddy icons and pictures. Maybe that's your problem. Permalink | September 3, 2012, 11:36 am |

Sometimes on mobile devices the pitures of the moc itself and people's buddy icons get mixed up. Permalink | September 3, 2012, 3:14 pm |

i did erase the comments already out of concern - they weren't rude or anything they just did not come from me.
I can still link the pages but it seems pointless now

i wasn't near a computer last night thats why i am concerned ... especially that i will be helping with judging with the MOC olympics, I wouldn't want false scores or something like that to occur if my account is compromised. hopefully just a glitch!

If that's the case then there's no way for me to investigate, sorry. I can't imagine, however, what would cause this to happen. If the "I made it" badge shows up next to your review, it always will appear in the list of reviews you've written. Perhaps, as suggested above, it was simply a display issue on a nonstandard browser? Were you using a phone or other nonstandard browser? Permalink | September 3, 2012, 3:56 pm |

only use my desktop or laptop - don't use other devices, don't have any! And again I did not leave the comments in question but it had my icon and said i made it under the icon - I will take Phipson's advice and change password just in case and keep an eye out for further suspicious activity

As opposed to starting a new thread, figured I'd just mention this here. On my latest creation: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/339424,
I've been experiencing weird things with comments/commenting. I don't know if it's a glitch or has something to do with moderation. I've tried replying to a certain comment several times (rephrasing stuff in case of moderation) and it won't go through. My friend Paul Vermeecsh has also said he's tried commenting twice and couldn't. I can't figure out why any of it would require moderation, as nothing in the least objectionable was said, but I just don't know. Any "clue" what's up? Oh, and on a totally different note, my anti-virus keeps blocking random pages I attempt to view (that sometimes work and sometimes don't). Is that most likely add related?
Thanks,

I had a look at automated moderation, and it appears the problem was with the word "Mustard," which has the word "tard" in it. The automated system will pick that up and force us to manually approve comments in such a scenario. Drives us crazy when someone does a Tardis MOC from Dr. Who.
Anyway, I manually approved one of your responses. Just know that anytime someone leaves a comment with the colonel's name in it, it will get shot over to moderation. ;)

lol. But also Mark, may I suggest looking for a virus, or a weak-point in your security for this site? I really, REALLY mean no offense, but many people have experienced their anti-virus' pop-up on certain pages, and, well, that seems a little, fishy. So, long story short, try checking for some sort of weakness, open spot, OR virus in the site. Maybe question people who have had this instance and ask them what pages they were trying to view, so you'll have an easier investigation. Hope this helps! -Noah the LEGO Apprentice

Noah, if viruses were present it might not necessarily be the "website" which has been infected. I've had warnings on various members' home pages because of those (IMO) unnecessary dancing ninjas and flag counters. I'm convinced they are harmful.
Edit- Case in point http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/67448
I've had THREE warnings from Malawarebytes that my browser is attempting to contact a dangerous website when linking to the above page. The only logical conclusion is that one of the images on that page is viral in nature. Permalink | September 4, 2012, 3:48 am |
