Terribly Sorry To Bring Up An Old Topic (From Last Sunday I Belive.) But I Have Had An Incident Similar If Not Similar, Completely The Same To What Mister Lego Expirienced With An Apparent Virus Or "Malware" As It Is Called. And Seeing That Two People Belived That It Had Nothing To To With Mocpages, I Just Wanted To Tell You That It May (Not To Sound Rude.). Anyways, When I Went To Go Click On A Creaton On The Frot Page Of Mocpages In "Everyone's Lego Creations" The Virus Or "Malware" Popped Up Saying That My Files Were Infected By Trojans. I Responded Of Course, But Then Noticing It Was A Virus, I Began To Try & "X" Out Of It And It Took About A Minute, But I Was Able To. I Am Sorry If This Is Irrelevant, But I Just Though I Should Speak Up About It.

Yeah, that happened to me. I closed out of it and scanned my computer with my own scanner. It was fine, no trojans

This also happened to me. Supposedly Trojans popped up on my computer, but when I did the scan there were none there.

This happened a while ago, before I joined MP. it said I had 48 Trojans, and 20 corrupted pieces of data(or something like that.) Then it asked me to download some software, but I said no. I ran the scan, and no viruses were detected.

It isn't MOCpages. And like I said before, get some sort of antivirus. Specifically Avast! Antivirus. But if it'll make you ANY happier, tell me the creation name and I'll check it out. BTW, whoever made it could've programed a virus in the HTML.

It's not just MOCpages that this is happening on. It happens to me when I visit worstpreviews.com. When the screen pops up, just click out of it. It's some kind of scam.

there is a known scam that certain pop ups pretend to be updates for your antivirus software, or fake alerts for viruses that try to trick you into downloading spyware.

the best solution is the one listed above, DON'T confirm the download, use the x in the top corner to close down the window, clear your cache file, run antivirus scans with what ever you have installed and if it finds anything let it take the recommended action AND reboot.

9 times out of 10 these things are related to ads and therefore multiple users will see the same thing on the same website, but it is NOT associated with the website itself.

Make sure you have the pop up blocker for your web browser switched on, and if you have ad blocking use it.

all public websites experience this sort of thing from time to time, the important thing is to not accept downloads from sources you don't trust.

When I Cliked On The Moc Again Nothing Happened. But Why Do You Insist It's Not Mocpages? Other People Have Had This Happen To Them.
You know there is a such thing as hacking, right?

I have had that happen once last year, it wasn't a problem. Just "X" out of the screen.

As for getting viruses, it's happeneed to me. Back in December of 2011 I was here on MOCpages (and as ironic as it is), clicked on Oliver King's account. I was interested in seeing how many groups he made for himself with one member. Yes, I was being a bit curious, but I wanted to get a laugh. When I got to the homepage my computer's ACTUAL antivirus screen came up and told me I had almost 50 viruses, and it was still scanning. It said the origin of these was from some other website. Long story short, I got the warning while on MOCpages.

The viruses proved too much for my computer. Even though they had been deleted by a tech guy, they came right back. The computer wouldn't even turn on at that point.

My new computer (I've had it since January) works great.

My problems with the viruses NEVER were on MOCpages, they just hapopened to attack while I was on here.

And Not Everyone Is Right.

Really? Quick question, then.
Are you an associate of this guy?

Your writing style and homepage are suspiciously similar.

But that's impossible, because he said he was leaving.

Didn't he?

That Is Me.

Then you confess that you are, in fact, as childish as Owl accused you of being?
That you only pretended to quit because you wanted attention?

Then you confess that I was in fact right when I declared your little enterprise to be nothing but kiddie attention-seeking.

There you go. You're 'unique'. You're 'special'.
You're just not unique and special in a way that makes you a person worth knowing.

Indeed I Do. Why?
If one did hack, they could program a virus into the site so that when you click on a certain link or page it will be downloaded into your computer.

I'll Just Ignore You & Your Little Feeling Of Superiority.

You should have been doing that already dude.

If you don't know it already, most of us know Areetsa so well because he says what everyone thinks in a blunt and careless way. He doesn't care if people are mad at him, he just keeps on going.

The more you argue with him the more he is going to make you feel bad. So my advice is to drop it.

Okay, let me explain some things here. Areesta has been here a pretty long time. He is rather tired of all the kiddies on the site. Thus, he is a just a bit on the harsh side when it comes to correcting people for being immature. But he is still right. Typing the first letter of EVERY word IS rather obnoxious and immature. It's also a power grab for getting attention.

So here is the problem. You had a legitimate problem with the virus. But you presented it in such annoying way that Areesta (and many others) could not get around the obnoxiousness to even help you.

So in the future, just stop typing like that.

Problem solved.

You Really Think I Want Attention For Typing Like This? No, I Just Feel Comfortable Typing Like This, And I Can't Stand The "Proper" Way Of Typing.

Hmmm, you said you like being unique, am I correct? Unique is standing out. So if you want to be unique, you want to stand out (The theorem of substitution {geometry}). Wanting to stand out is wanting attention.

If you feel more comfortable typing this way, it's because you've been doing it a while. So the question is, what drove you to type like this in the first place?

actually raptor on this case I completely agree with Areetsa. Your behaviour is completely uncalled for.

if you have no further "questions" you need help with, might I suggest you just stop responding to anyone in this conversation, since it ceased to have anything to do with your original question about 20 statements back.

to the mods, since this is clearly turning ugly would you just lock the thread.

he's not the only one tired of the kiddie drama, but he is probably the most vocal on the subject.

Quoting Green Raptor

I Agree Totally.

as for "Typing Like This", the only person I know to do this is Humph-free, but he only does it on his own creations. As an affectation it isn't that annoying, but it should be used ONLY on your own stuff. In other people's groups and mocs it's very rude to use these affectations "when you have been asked not to because other people find it annoying".

It's like visiting your grandmother and insisting on whistling when she's asked you to stop.

It's about showing a bit of maturity and respect. You do that, and I'm sure Areetsa will back off.

Happens sometimes. I'm a bit vague on how, exactly, but I've never had it happen twice on the same webpage. I suspect it's an ad-based redirect of some breed, but I'm not sure.
Harmless, as long as you don't fall for it.
